meanwhile im still traumatized by a plague juggernaut that took over 500 rounds, mostly .357, a couple pipe bombs, and about 3 melee weapons to take down. this does not take into account the ammo used by the 3 soldier npcs that were shooting him the entire time. i refuse to believe this wasnt a bug
I never gave the Starshank Launcher a second thought. It's a nice alternative to not having a .50 caliber weapon. I'm calling in my Independence Trader now! Thank you RivdD! Great graphs, great video, excellent narration.
Keep in mind that when using starshank, only shoot their chest. If you shoot their belly, the firework will bounce off from his belly.. Try that, it will be fun. Also don't use Gunslinging.
These graphs are GREAT, but kind of difficult to access and compare them to each other when I have to bounce around a video for them. I know it's asking for a lot, but perhaps you might consider posting links to the charts in your description in the future.
Rvidd thank you for your videos! You give out so much value. Definitely professional level content. You’re the go to encyclopedia for SOD! Could you do a heavy weapons vs plague hearts guide?
I can't thank you enough for posting this! I only play on Green Zone & Standard Zone because I don't have a death wish. I've been wondering if there's a difference in the effectiveness of different calibers of guns (besides 50 cal). 🤗
Very informative charts. I didn't even know smaller calibers can be so efficient against jugs as I was always using 5.56mm or 7.62mm to fight them. Thank you.
Awesome! Your videos are amazing! Such useful information! And you're so dedicated and commited to these videos that we watch it with joy! Amazing man! Congrats!
In SOD 1 jugs would charge and stagger if they charged into a wall. Now they recover insanely fast or stop before hitting the wall. Kinda removes the cheesing ig.
Also a good weapon is the Sharpshooter Rifle of Daybreak. 1 Mag or 4 Shots (8 CLEO-Ammo) to bring it on its knees. CLEO-Ammo can be crafted or called in with the Relay.
That is "CLEO Heavy Sniper" and not Sharpshooter Rifle. It is an equivalent of 50 Cal. Any weapon other than 50 cal and explosives always need a minimum of 36 shots.
That's heavy, but the sharpshooter rifle is ass in daybreak and regular because it can't insta kill a regular zombie or can't bring down a juggernaut in 4 shots
One thing you should take into account for future ammo comparison videos. The shooting skill has effects on the ammo. Example a .22 cannot dismember anything but with a character with sharpshooting or with a Red Talon Agent one .22 shot can dismember a leg in one shot. This also affects armored zombies. Sharpshooting and RT soldiers also reduce the ammount of headshots needed to remove the helmet of an armored zombie to 4 instead of the traditional 11. I know from experience this also affects combat with jugs, althoug not with ferals. Wnat im trying to say, avoid using red talon agents, sharpshooters or assault characters because they all have increased damage. Stick to weapon handling and gusnlinger to prevent having wrong results.
Actually none of the shooting skills has any effects on the number of bullets we need when we shoot the Juggernauts. I tested every possibility that might affect the number of bullets we need, but I could only find two mechanics that have any effects on it. That's why I made those videos first before making this guide and linked those videos in the pinned comment here. If you are experiencing any mismatches with these charts, one of those mechanics is responsible for that. I recommend you to take a look at them first to confirm which one it actually is. I mostly think you got different results because of their "Health regeneration mechanics".
@@StateofDecayScience Dude I also tested it and I also made a video on this a year ago, and Im aware of the Heatlh mechanic, I made the test on Nightmare mode on 2020. And my results were also similar to yours thats why since 2020 I have been advicating for Bouncing Boris since 2020 because they are the cheaper non melee way to take down juggernauts
I don't know what do you mean by you tested this. Even if you are late to shoot by one second, you may need 1 extra bullet to take down a Juggernaut's health phase. For example, if you use G18 Auto Custom and shoot a jugg's head in full auto with a Gunslinging survivor, it will take 18 bullets. But if you use MP5A2 Spec Ops and shoot the Jugg's head in burst firing mode with an RT, it will take 19 shots. Even if you shoot a Jugg's head slowly using G18 Auto Custom, you will need 19. Whether the survivors are skilled or unskilled, all of them will need the same amount of bullets. Only the time you took will change the results. If you had tested this, you should have got the same resuts for all the survivors if the time you took was consistent. And why do you have to bring Bouncing Boris in? I didn't say anywhere that guns are the best. It is just an efficiency video specifically made for guns. That's why I specifically asked everyone to not to talk about Explosives and Vehicles here. But if you say BB are the cheapest non melee weapon, you are wrong. Cars are cheaper than even Melee weapons and it is also the safest.
Question, why is .44 excluded from the list? With mare's leg and other lever actions, the .44 can certainly be suppressed and have advanced breaks to kill juggernauts.
.44 is excluded only in the "Required number of body shots category" because a lot bullets required for body shots and there is no practical fully automatic .44 gun available to use. It has been tested in the "required number headshots" category. But .357 was tested in all the categories because there is a very good gun available that uses .357 - MPX Submachine Gun. It has 30 capacity mag and features all 3 firing modes.
Tbh most my community uses 5.56 and magnum (full red talon community) i have a few snipers who use a SVD and SkS which usually drop juggs. Also aren't juggs fire resistant?
For me the most efficient way to kill a jug using ammo is plain bouncing boris. I really dislike the idea on going "rambo" and firing at them. And seing your graphs, great work by the way, it might actually be the best. 1 unit of ammo to kill 1 jug.
Nothing beats bouncing boris for jugs- throw one at their feet and they instantly die. Just kidding of course- this is a guns only vid I know. You should try the bouncing boris thing if you haven't yet though its great :D

If you don't mind using a 100 mag gun, use Masterwork Assault rifle. The best 5.56 in SOD2. You can craft it using the facility mod from trumbull valley bounty pack.

For distance 44 magnum is the sweet spot for cost and effective. However 22lr if is also very effective.
No, It is .357
i think the heavy cleo sniper is really efficient, it uses 2 cleo ammo per shot but does as much dmg like the .50 cal rounds for a lot cheaper price

Juggs are resistant to fire. But starshank is an explosive. Only pyro launcher won't work against them.

No. they make no difference.
