I was worried I was not getting results, then I see It took you 4 years to get to that point, which makes me feel better, I Just need to keep going, thanks for sharing!
Because of you, I started to take fitness more seriously! Honestly in a way, you're like that role model/older brother figure I never had. I'm genuinely grateful for you Colin :D
I've struggled with being consistent in the gym since high school (I'm almost 30). May it be laziness or injuries, I would always struggle at getting back after it after some time away. I've been very consistent this year but had a very discouraging attitude recently and thought about quitting for good. Your videos have helped a lot in motivating me to keep going, and I really appreciate you talking to us like a human being instead of seeming unrealistic. Please, never change that style Colin!
As someone who very loosely knows what to do in the gym but never really goes with a plan and always works out alone this is very helpful and will make me structure my workouts more intentionally thanks!
@@hazgoldberg I wouldn't know how to work out with others. Feels nice just being in your space. I do however like when there is a few other workouters around me at the local calipark... alone together I guess.
Started off with weights, moved to calisthenics, and now I'm a hybrid guy till I die. People underestimate how much growth you can have with just your bodyweight.
Hey man just wanted to thank you for the amazing content! I am a 26 year old 5'7 guy and severely underweight. Started going to the gym recently and gained 4 kgs in a month. Your videos have been really helpful!
@@ezioauditoredafirenze5003 i started exactly at 52 kg, i’m 5”7 aswell. After like 3/4 months of force feeding myself i got to my ideal weight which is 68 kg. If i managed to do it you can aswell!
Phenomenal advice! Thanks so much for sharing Colin! I will say as a 48y/o male growing muscle at my age is a bit harder. But I push 6-7 days a week, and stay dedicated.. I'm in month 8 and myself and those around me are noticing a difference! Anything is possible if you make the effort!
i think your wrap-up, sitting camera angle looked so much better and was more engaging than your usual standing one. your tips and knowledge are always inspiring!
If you can start adding a few at home (no equipment necessary besides maybe dumbells) workouts - 15 minutes, 30 minutes - that focus on different exercise groups, or combine exercises for an all-around workout - I think you'll see your viewership really take off! These educational videos are great.
I do calisthenics at home but in all honesty building muscle at home isn’t really possible past those exercises, you need kit and it’s really not viable for the everyday person to have that kit at home. I’m 51, the first time I walked in to a a gym I was 13, I won weightlifting competitions before I was 16 but by the time I was 30 I hadn’t seen the inside of a gym for 5 years and calisthenics got me back on track but there is no substitute for a proper gym.
i found your channel 6 weeks ago, 2 days after starting working out, and i have to say - THANK YOU You're so down to earth and so nice in the way u present what u wanna say, im glad i found this channel. it's helping me alot, in finding myself through finding my shake and inner strenght. A hug from Portugal Colin !
Yo man I’m 17 5’10 but only 115lbs (52kg). I just started working out this week thanks to your inspiration. If you got any other tips from starting at such a low weight it’d be much appreciated but thanks a lot anyway man.
Track your calories and eat. Get a higher % of protein. Clean fats (nuts, butter, whole milk, cheese, olive oil). Consistent persistence will bring you gains over time. You'll have probably 50% of your total muscle gains in your first year
That's great! As for tips what Jacob just said is spot on but just eat a lot. You're young, you're probably burning a lot of calories so find calorie dense foods and eat a lot of them. Just try and make that number on the scale go up while staying consistent with workouts. You got it bro keep at it!
dirty bulking can help gain weight fast, you’ll probably see a bit of fat around your waist and stuff tho, can burn easily it seems if you’re 115 at 17 you must have a fast metabolism
Great tips! My chest is definitely my weakest point. Your before and after pics give me hope, because we have similar body types. I have been focusing on dips/bench/flys so as long as I keep eating enough and pushing myself I'm sure I'll get to where you are soon enough. I'm rounding the corner on my first year of lifting and have seen great results (put on almost 30lbs so far!). I'll keep in touch with your channel as you always post great stuff.
Great video! The timing is spot on. These exercises are awesome. Question for you... have you ever tried Next Level Diet? I got a muscle-building meal plan from them that's worked wonders for me.
Your videos really help me out bro. Ever since i've started working out consistently watching your vids help when sometimes i get confused. Thanks for the tips and keep up this kind of content!
Hey Colin, I’ve recently come across your videos as after many years of neglecting any kind of fitness (24M, 187cm, 69kg) I’m on my way to getting stronger and fitter. I recently discovered bouldering and it propelled me into callisthenics training as I don’t really like weights or machines. Thanks for uploading videos where you show that both resistance training and body weight training have equal merit and can be both implemented ! I appreciate you.
Wow. Congratulations on all your Hard work. You are Remarkable. Just Discovered your Channel Recently and so Glad I did. You are a True Inspiration to us All. Keep up the Fantastic work. Have a Wonderful 2023
As a 26 year old who is around 196 lbs, 5”11 and an endomorph, it’s been vital to me that I focus on hypertrophy with low rest times. I’m already pretty strong, when I started I could bench around 60kg for 3x15. However, I’ve always had trouble around the hips. I eat 1500 calories a day and I still can’t manage to get leaner. I could sniff chocolate and put on about 6 lbs lmao. God forbid I go anywhere near carbs! 70-120g of carbs a day seems to be my safe spot. Edit: As I'm getting leaner but gaining muscle (I weigh 187lbs now) the amount of calories I eat has had to come down AGAIN to 1000 as my energy expenditure decreases. 50% protein (180g is the goal), 40% fat (not over 44g) and 10% carbs, more often than not sticking between 20-50g now. I find that it's helped me continue to lose weight at a rate of 4lbs a week IF I don't slack. *WARNING:* I'm only able to pull this off because I am currently out of work. Your body, burns through 1000 calories a day SIMPLY by running itself. The average person who works etc would need double, if not triple the amount of calories. Carbs aren't your friends though.
Bro how about you try recomposition? It's like you eat a lot of protein and work hard with good weights but eat 200-500 calories less a day so you will be gaining some muscles while losing fat.
i have very uneven chest/shoulder/triceps, and ive been looking for info how to best fix it. Helped me alot, i ditched barbell bench for 3months and switched to dumbells only and the differences are really small now! tyvm

i used to go to the gym at 5am every morning 5 years ago. sadly i ran into addiction problems and lost all my muscle. i got clean about 3 years ago and started just doing different types of pushups and simple exercises at home. and even though its been slow results my chest filled out again. even if you're not going super hard in the gym everyday, consistency is a huge factor in doing anything. im personally not trying to be huge. but i was a stick and all i wanted was some of my definition back. i was 120 lbs and 5'10 in active addiction.. im 165 now and look so much better. ya'll can do it! good luck everyone. and by the way, i loved the video man. keep grinding brother
