I've been playing Meteoid Dread, just beat it last week, and now I am playing Triangle Strategy. It's awesome.
Rectangle fantasy
I just went back to Dread and finished off the final boss last night after getting frustrated in late December. It was well worth it. Great game!
Triangle Strategy has been sooo good! I usually feel "strategy" or "tactics are generous terms for them. But them game I actually feel like many things I do is important not just hit their back, and block your back
I made it to the final boss in Dread but haven’t beaten it yet.
@@brianschwartz1372 It's definitely a tricky fight. But when you figure out the pattern he becomes very beatable. Good luck man!
Its so damn cool you guys have been friends so long and shared this passion for games
I turned 30 this past week. One of the presents my wife's family got me was Elden ring. I sat there one day and played it for 12+ hours. This is the first game In awhile I fell in love with.
The amount of weirdness and hidden secrets in Elden Ring is mind blowing. All the obscure side quests (that make you stronger, no less) in this absolutely massive world that is FAR from empty is astounding. What a masterpiece, almost unbelievable that this game even exists. From Software is one of the great ones.
Affirmative Ghost Rider.
Started it today! 👍
@@ircha Love your content. Big fan.
Love when Rob comes along to talk and even though I probably won't play those games, I'll listen joyfully to your stories and experience.
Elden Ring is so addictive. I'm 90 hours in on my second playthrough. It's one of the best games I've played in years :).
I'm avoiding watching streams of ER. I want to be surprised when i finally play it.
170 hours lol almost done my second play through
Played 130 hours, got 100% trophies already. Really fun and ambitious. I'm a huge FromSoft fan and I'll say its their best game yet but it does have some flaws
For sure. The Soulsborne games (the actual trilogy along with DeS and BB) have always been stupidly addictive to me. I have the patience of a hamster but somehow I am very persistent in these games and I love them to bits. Elden Ring is no different. It's beautiful, expansive and a lot of fun to explore and play. Yes, you'll hit some walls but there's so much to do, just go and explore other things and come back later!
You guys are pros. Damn work gets in the way. I love Elden Ring so much also. Definitely my game of the year so far. Love Soulsbourne games. Have fun gaming friends. I am sprinkling in some Triangle Strategy when the wife is playing Elden Ring. It's a great game also.
Pokemon Legends Arceus and Triangle Strategy are really awesome...these are the games I'm playing now...so magnificent...😎
Just finished Fallout New Vegas, hadn’t played a fallout since 3 and I finally had time to sink a ridiculous amount of time into it. Very addictive and loved the music in it.
New vegas 2 is coming baby
Great game finished on Series X, was dissapointed with it back then, but, really got into it last year, the story and enddings are all great.
I’m actually playing through Doom 3 again for the first time in 17 years but this time on my Nintendo Switch. Such a fun game, it’s a little bit more survival horror than any other game in the series but that’s what I love about it!
I’m playing Infernax as well. Great game. Triangle Strategy, Monark, & Oracle of Seasons are in my current to rotation as well. Triangle seems to be winning a lot more of my attention…
You guys are funny calling yourselves old. I’m 65. Still gaming just fine!🤠💕
I've been between Elden Ring for the PS4 Pro and Octopath Traveler for the Nintendo Switch. I'm just patiently waiting for TMNT: The Cowabunga Collectionr to release.
Totally agree with the Wonder Boy In Monster Land statements. All my nostalgia is for the Master System version.
I've been playing Triangle Strategy. I love this game. It's a 9 for me. I love Strategy RPGs the best.
I agree
Surprised Johnny doesn't like it more. I agree, I think it's a phenomenal strategy RPG.
I have been waiting a physical copy of Triangle Strategy to be available here in my country. Sure, I could have gone digital but I want a physical copy for this one, so I am patiently waiting.
It is definitely worth it.
I've been playing Sly Cooper 3 from the Sly Cooper collection. I finished Sly Cooper 1 and Sly Cooper 2 earlier this year already. Going back and enjoying these old school platform games has been a blast for me. I'm definitely going to get Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, and Triangle Strategy.
So happy to see that yall are still making videos together! I've been following for a WHILLLE!
I've been playing Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir. I'm about two thirds into it and I've been sucked in. I love the combat loop and the way the story is told has me sold.
I have it on my Vita and it plays super smooth. Need to get back into it.
One of my favorite games of all time. A criminally overlooked gem, for sure.
Elden Ring is already GOTY material. It's like Breath of the Wild on steroids, Ultimate Warrior style.
do you think GOW could contend with it? The first GOW won GOTY in 2018 beating out RDR2 i think.
It's like Dark Souls, Witcher 3, Skyrim, BOTW and Shadow of The Collosus.
@@johnnyjets2343 GOW most likely won't contend with Elden Ring , It'll be more of a safe follow up just like Horizon Forbidden West (not a bad thing just not enough). Personally I never liked GOW.
Did you play Returnal? Is Elden Ring harder than Returnal?
@@fawkkyutuu8851 that's you and your right or opinion to not like GOW. I'm saying it won goty beating out red dead redemption 2 which also got a metacritic score of 97. I'd say if the next GOW is a popular or good as the last or even improves upon it then I think it could give elden ring a run for its money.
Rob is such a fun guy. I wish I had a friend like him. XD
I trust your and Rob’s opinions on games over anyone, you’re the Tarantino of gaming curation and if anyone is going to put preconceptions aside and give RE6 a fair shake, it’s you two. Can’t freaking wait for that RE ranking video!
I always would love to finish a game, but always end up bouncing around....glad to find comfort in knowing so many others do 👍🍻
1. There's a way to make Dark Souls, and Elden Ring for that matter, easy (or at least to reduce the difficult considerably, you still need to learn how to fight bosses and enemies): magic.
2. One way to rank Resident Evil games would be each of you make your own rank. "This is my number 10", "This is mine", "This is my number 9", "This is mine"; it would be fun to find when both of you put the same game in the same rank, and elaborate on your different takes.
3. I've been playing Dark Souls 3, Horizon Chase Turbo, Trails in the Sky, and Kentucky Route Zero (but I think I won't continue on this one; it's not fun, there are very long dialogue scenes that are important to the story, yes, but the story is irrelevant, uninteresting; it's like the devs read a García Márquez book and fell so in love with him--without understanding what Magic Realism actually is).
Horizon Chase Turbo is the best racing games I have played in 30 years, since Top Gear 3000 on the SNES.
Trails is a good turn-based RPG, there's a reason it's considered a classic.
Horizon Chase Turbo is fantastic. Played the hell out of it with my kids.
@@zacharron Sounds great! They will have amazing memories in 10, in 20 years.
13:40-13:50 I love how Rob says "FRONT Mission is coming BACK?" multiple times and Johnny just refuses to acknowledge it. :)
Elden Ring. This has been the best game I have played in the last 10 years. This is like SkyRim, Oblivion, and Dark Souls wrapped up into one. Love the open world and design is just amazing. Well thought out and executed.
It's more like Bloodborne, Sekiro and Demon's/Dark Souls in 1. It truly feels like an evolution on all past games with so many mechanics
@@Walamonga1313 that’s a good point. I could see that too.
Are you not entertained.
@@TheViperguy83 lol. Someone got the reference. 🤣
@@Walamonga1313 i’d say it’s more like Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne had a threesome with Breath of the Wild.
Currently playing MONARK. At first I got it for the SMT devs aspect, but after 60 hours I am loving it for it doing its own thing and the story is pretty engaging. I know the game won't be talked about a whole lot but it is certainly a hidden gem for me.
Just beat A Plague Tale: Innocence, it was very enjoyable and I was very invested in the story and characters by the end of the game, definitely looking forward to the sequel.
Nothing like a Sunday morning episode!
Man kudos to Rob for being able to see that despite that the game isn't for him, the team doesn't need to change it to suit him. I respect that a lot.
You are a brilliant, brilliant youtuber! The ability you have to get people more hyped than a trailer would, from a simple chill convo with a friend, is astounding..
Love these vids! Please never stop
There is only Elden Ring. Taking over my life.
I've said that for Horizon FW lately... love it
Facts. Anyone playing anything else is missing out
Which one would you say is harder and more punishing, Elden Ring or Returnal?
@@lukastemberger It's close but i would say Returnal, I never finished that.
@@lukastemberger I haven't gotten past the 1st level of Returnal yet LOL... love it otherwise
Great episode!!! Always love a Rob episode. I felt like a gatekeeper but you guys brought me back down to Earth Lol. Fantastic talk of new and old games!
Always awesome to see Rob!
Beat 3 of the 4 endings in Triangle Strategy. I like it even more than FF tactics. The storyline is straight up better than ff tactics imo. Tactics had such a convoluted story line. Triangle Strat is FF tactics kinda meets Radiant Historia. I think T Strat will creep up the lists and find a place in Johny's Heart over time. I think Elden Ring.... Well, I'd even rather be playing Elden ring buuuuuut, I'm on the Ps5 waitlist.
Its always a treat seeing Rob come back for a chat :)
First there was Lost Sphere, then there was Triangle Strategy. Finally Rectangle Fantasy
Great to see you both together again.
So glad I rediscovered this channel!
80 hours into Elden Ring, and it is a 10/10 masterpiece. One of the greatest of all time for sure. Grab the Greatsword and cosplay as Guts.
11:28 -- When "Project Triangle Strategy" was first announced, I knew that's what they'd do with the name because they did the same thing with Octopath Traveler (announced as Project Octopath Traveler)
Finally started my venture into the world of Xenoblade ahead of 3 and oh my god I‘m already blown away.
The grand world, exploration and music. Hard to put the controller down. Also just a great showcase for why the hybrid idea works so well. Catching up with quests on handheld, main story on big screen.
Also what I really appreciate so far is that you just get to play the game, dialogue and cutscenes are very much out of the way. Can‘t wait to eventually get to 2 and then the new one.
that game is amazing and one of those games u wish u could play it first time again like botw
I've been jumping back and forth between Horizon: Forbidden West, and Triangle Strategy. Both are phenomenal games and a blast to play. Today I'm picking up a Wii U kiosk from a seller locally, so I'll be playing some Captain Toad: Tresure Tracker hopefully very soon!
Triangle Strategy => Square breaking the 4th wall => The three remaining sides form a triangle. A triangle strategy breaks the 4th wall of a square or rectangle.
The RE Remakes & the Originals should be ranked & categorized as different games. They're both great in their own ways & unique to their time. The originals hold so much nostalgia for me but the remakes completely blew me away & are so amazing. Yes even RE3 Remake.
I am also playing Infernax at the moment! It’s so good. One of the best games I’ve played in a long time!
I'm actually playing Beat Saber (I absolutely love OST 5 and the new notes, such a blast) the game is just so fun that i can't stop myself from playing :) [Camellia's music is so good too]
I always look forward to Sundays due to there being a new episode. Glad to see rob again
Always love Robman on the show :) awesome video as always Johnny!
Always a delight when Rob Man joins you for a video.
Always a good day when see a new video with Robman. Love the metal gear hoodie.
Love you guys.
Awesome to see robman! Great video guys!😊💪👌
I went from Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker to Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Now I'm obsessed with Elden Ring
I've been playing Persona 5 Royal. I had the original version and played it a few hours but it didn't grab me. I got the Royal edition on sale awhile back and started it up last week and I am HOOKED. Such a cool, stylish game and fantastic music too.
Oh, the Guardian Heroes soundtrack brings me a lot of memories... so nostalgic... 😌
The most exciting thing was hearing that Guardian Heroes background music!
Thanks Robman for talking about some old style games I've never heard of.
*Triangle Strategy* story is EXTREMELY good and engrossing. I'm hanging onto every word. The strategy gameplay is incredibly deep, and overall this game stomps all over FF Tactics. I can't go back after this. Triangle Strategy is the modern FF Tactics I've always wanted. Amazing story, amazing strategy, amazing choices with REAL consequences and split paths.
I've been playing Okinawa Rush, Dying Light 2, Horizon FW, WWE 2k22, KOFXV, Super smash bros Ultimate. Love all your content buddy!
When you guys do the video ranking the RE games, don't worry about the length of the video. Take your time going into detail of each game. Can't wait for that video!
Been playing grindstone and crown trick. Love them!!
I played Resident Evil 6 with my wife back on the PS3. It was my wife's third game ever played after Saints 2 and Saints Row 3. Now shes played Far Cry 6, God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2. She seems to like playing relaxing open world games with simplified goals and following icons. She is hoping God of War Ragnarok is as good as the first.
I am an absolute idiot for just finding this but the two of you gentlemen brought light to my soul. Please PLEASE keep up the good fight
I'd play Rectangle Fantasy by CircleSoft!
BTW, if you miss the OLD OLD turn based Style JRPGs, Kemco still releases new ones fairly often. I know they're released as collection for consoles and individually on Steam.
Looking forward to your RE ranking video for sure.
I’ve been playing Nier Replicant, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, KoF XV, and Shadow of the Damned.
Brilliant one!
Yay! Uploaded 20 secs ago.
Edit: Now that I've watched the whole thing - Infernax has definitely caught my attention, it just looks so cool!
As far as Triangle Strategy goes, my impressions are that it gets better as it goes, both mechanically and in storytelling. Keep at it!
@WaterFurry Wut?
Been playing Horizon Forbidden West for the past few weeks and it has been amazing. Haven't beaten the game yet but I'm still having a good time
Never clicked faster. Elden Ring AND Rob?!
EDIT: As for me, I've been playing Elden Ring and the Trails series (The Legend of Heroes)
Love both ya guys like brothers.
Friend and I just late last year, we did the exact same thing haha we both love Resident Evil series soooo much. But we both skipped 6. It's crazy how similar our stories are. We ended up playing through it for the same reasons you did. Just wanted a definitive conversation about a Resident Evil ranking system. I was blown away by how long the game was haha good luck finishing it in a weekend. It will be a push but I'm keen to see you guys discuss it.
Thanks for telling me about Infernax!
Elden Ring is amazing. Never had so many jump scares in a game, always on edge.
I can't wait for Trapezoid Racing, where all cars have trapezoidal wheels. Strap on your seatbelts because it's gonna be one rough, wild ride!
I’m a Retro guy so i have been playing Doom 64 on Switch and Ultima Exodus on NES, and when i get the time, some Breath of the wild on Master mode.
Awesome video guys 😎!
Just finished Skyrim's main quest for the fourth time 😂 And I did imperial legion questline with one character and stormcloack questline with another
Great video! You’re videos of reminiscing are my favorite. Would like a total review of Elden Ring when you’re done please!
As for the RE list, go 45 minutes if you have to but do all the games old and new versions and your own lists each. Don’t worry about length of the videos because you’re my favorite channel and content creator. More is always great with you!
Glad to see rob back
Resident Evil 6 Mercenaries mode was actually a lot of fun back then when I originally played it on the Xbox 360. I’ll never forget my best friend and I spending hours perfecting our teamwork and going up the leaderboards in mercenaries. The story mode was okay though lol.
I'm 52 hours into Elden Ring and having the best time, I'm playing it like a snail and have only really cleared out Limgrave. Game of the year!
Aside from that I'm playing Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, I'm on the fourth chapter and it's without a doubt my favorite Mario game lol.
Nice to hear Guardian heroes, playing in the background.
My copy of Triangle Strategy arrived as I was watching this and I also beat SMTV today.
I hope you review TS, Johnny! Love the game chats!
my 8th grade son played it and loved it and he's not a souls fan and are playing it side by side it's been fantastic def easier to get into
I’m playing both Elden Ring & Triangle Strategy, and let me just say, 2022 is gonna be an epic year for gaming.
So much Elden Ring.
Mixing that Souls combat risk vs reward aspect with the Skyrim “what’s back here?” sense of exploration results in a perfect gameplay loop.
Every time I get stuck on the campaign, which IMO is the most difficult part of the game, I just go exploring, level up after beating some mini bosses and then progress.
It’s such a unique experience and it’s probably already in my top 10.
Love me some Rob Man videos
Playing Fire Emblem Awakening, Phantom Hourglass, Number Battles (DSi) and Aero Porter. Trying to soak up that 3DS as much as possible!
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I bought Elden Ring today. I died 4 times in the parry tutorial alone. But now I'm getting it and now I'm much better. Playing confessor (I think it was) 😎😎👍
Triangle strategy , dot hack gu collection on switch , atelier Sophie 2 and love esquire are some of what I've been playing recently.
Glad to see someone else mentioning Love Esquire
I've been playing a game called Model Builder. It's a game where you end up building all sorts of different model kits and it gives you scores based on your level of skill building something. As a model kit nut myself I gotta say it does replicate the feeling you get building kits so damn well. Down to the airbrushing which replicating THAT effect using a 3D model is amazing. It also solves some of the frustrations of real life model building such as if you mess up a waterslide. They are still actively updating the game and it's just now release within the past month. Give it a shot you won't be disappointed.
Like many others, Elden Ring has consumed my life right now. Almost 90hrs in and I’ve only done the second demigod. I’m exploring every nook and cranny and constantly getting sidetracked. My jaw has dropped to the ground so many times when I stumble upon some crazy underground locale or cool boss encounter. I suspect many many more hours of fun ahead. One of the best games I’ve played in quite a while 😅
We’ve been playing some Switch - Wild Guns, Overcooked 2 (v stressful but fun) and some Vidas99.
Totally agree about Wonderboy in Monster Land. Pure nostalgia on the SMS. Pre-ordered.
Did you play Wild Guns co-op or singleplayer? I played it last week, loved it, but boy is it hard as a singleplayer game!
Hahaha this video was a delight. I was laughing out loud at the end of the description of the anime girl Castlevania game. "A Floor length skirt not a little tiny one" --- "sure" Johnny says while trying not to laugh hahahaah
While I'm playing Gran Turismo 7 I just got started playing Elden ring just started playing back Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise and been playing few other things on my Nintendo switch as well so hope you and Rob are safe and have a great one
I platinumed Elden Ring and loved every single hour of it. One of the greatest games I've ever played.
I'm really enjoying Triangle Strategy! Is that Hobgoblin on Rob's shirt?
Infernax is an absolute masterpiece! Everyone should play that.
Managed to get the good ending on normal difficulty but man that last dungeon to get the true good ending, I had to lower the difficulty. Crazy hard
I agree, I've played through Infernax so many times. It's a very well done game.
