    Great video mate, really love watching your trips!
    with the cooling issue, watching the fan when you had the motor idling around the 8 min mark it looks like your viscous hub is not locking up properly. Go to Toyota and get 2 tubes of viscous oil (around $20ea) and the hub comes apart and empty whatever is in there and put 2 tubes worth in. The fan should be roaring at those temps

      I probably need to look into that, It’s a cheap fix. Just before it happened I was pulled up filming, after a big pull up Bulltown Spur on a stinking hot day, it’s the first time it’s played up since it was rebuilt.

    Bloke and Troopy - If you head out further along the Long Spur, off King Spur it turns into Golden ridge spur and at the second HP there is a faint track that heads down the spur towards the Dargo river and joins up with Miners Flat on the other side of the river. It's a wild drive down the last section - it is the only place you can cross the Dargo river. Some mining relics and donkey engine along the way. No bugger goes in there.

      @aguyandhistroopy  Рік тому +2

      I’ve been meaning to go to Miners Flat but from the eastern side of the Dargo River, it meant to be all over grown I’ve heard, and I’m pretty sure the river crossing is impassable. Don’t think many get down that way theses days.
      Might be different from the Maytown side.
      But if I get down that way from King Spur I’ll check it out Trickster. 👍🏼

    • @trickster8635
      @trickster8635 Рік тому +1

      @@aguyandhistroopy The blackberries are taking a hold down there, unfortunately. Soon you won't be able to move in there unless another fire to clear it out. The river crossing is not an issue, it's more the ruts washed out coming down the spur from the west side. I failed to climb that side coming from the east, but coming down no issue. Parks Vic. discourage people crossing there, prefer to let this old route die off and not have to maintain it. A bit like the politics around not maintaining Mayford spur on the east side as well.

    Been keen to see Bulltown Spur, looks super steep looking down from McMillans Rd but does look more manageable coming up. Nice job nursing the troopy along. Hey Jase, the first climb at the start is reasonably steep, big rollovers etc , but it flattens out after that.
      My issues were stinking hot day, steep climb and then I jumped out to film the other vehicle and left idling. Didn’t like not having air pushing through the radiator. Then had to keep climbing, once I found flat ground and some breeze it come down.

      Heating issues I believe was just the heat of the day, no breeze, steep long climb and I’d just jumped out to film and had it idling. So no real airflow to keep the heat down.
      To much technology in the JRP for this old fella. But it would be a good bit of kit that’s for sure.

I've had snow turn in mid January, and if you are caught out there and can't get down because the track has disappeared under snow, you run the risk. It all looks good in the light of day. Thanks Mick, I’m unsure about this new technology your talking of?! 😂 That’s why I never take the BT50 out on real tracks, unsure how it all works.
      Appreciate the positive feedback mate, feel free to comment anytime !! 😂😂

    Another great upload Gav👍 Did you check whether your radiator was obstructed by mud, grass etc. you do do a lot of muddy water crossing slash bog holes….. maybe the radiator just needs to be cleaned ? As the temperature did eventually come down sort of indicates some sort of airflow restriction ? Just a thought🤔 hmmm oh check the aircon condenser too….

      Hey Chris, all good on the overheating issue, it’s happened once before about 3 years ago after a big pull up a hill, then stopped and had it idling for a while, both stinking hot days.
      As for the muddy bog holes, nah not me, I try to avoid them, crystal clear mountain streams for me!! 😂
      Thanks for the input, and for watching again mate 👍🏼

    Another awesome video mate! Loved all your ones so far. Always amazed how much work you must put into setting up the go pro, driving back, driving past, going back to pick up the go pro…. A lot of effort mate
    What did you think of the camp boss light?
    Keep the great work

      @@bengibson3437 cheers mate, it’s a bit of work that’s for sure, but it’s a content I want to produce. I reckon it gives you a better perspective of the tracks and the surroundings.
      Campboss light is great, only issue is a can’t open the latch to get the battery out, so I haven’t had a remote since I’ve started using it… i always thought I’d lose it. 🤦🏽🤣
      Thanks for watching Ben, appreciate the support for the channel.

      Yeah I reckon you wouldn’t have an issue, just need to make sure it hasn’t been too wet prior to going.
      It’s a seasonal closure, so it’s not opened up until the end of November normally.
      Hope that helps.?
      Thanks for watching

    What a great trip this was loved the scenery was beautiful. I was just about to ask you wearing thongs all the time and if you had ever encountered snakes. Then the next thing you did encountered a snake. Do you see many snakes on your travels? Well thanks for another great video can't wait to see more of this trip. Cheers Anne

      Thanks Anne, it was a spectacular spot up at Devils Hollow, would of been so much better without the wind, but I wasn’t complaining.
      Yeah, not a big fan of snakes, but I haven’t seen to many in my travels, but thing’s probably aren’t the right foot west to be wearing !! Lol 🤦🏽
