With Zero Hour coming out next week I thought it was a good idea to get some friends together and do some good old Templar testing to see how Outbreak Perfected stacks up these days for DPS, because if you remember, back in the Forsaken era it was once used over heavy weapons for damage because of the raw damage it was able to put out. These days, it’s actually still pretty good! If you take away any Lucky Pants options, Using 5 or more Outbreaks is the 4th best primary option for DPS, which is still quite nice in my opinion, and definitely worth keeping one for the next Day One Raid Race, since the new perks coming to this weapon will make it even better. Rewind Rounds is one of them, and this is the perk I’ll be putting on mine since it will let you shoot it for a longer duration thereby increasing your DPS, since you won’t have to reload as often. Besides Outbreak, the weapon that surprised me the most is Final Warning, since with the half burst tap fire tech you can clear well over 600k damage which is utterly insane, especially for a sidearm. There are some other surprises as well, so please enjoy the testing!
Also big thanks to Jude aka "heretomars" for making the Twitch plug/CTA at the beginning, looking super clean!

outbreaks nanites count as hits and help with super regen which is an added benifit of outbreak the other weapons don't have
Dont all primaries do well super regen wise since they do a lot of damage in general?
The nanites charge it super fast, ToM with how much damage it does also gives super fast regen. Both are great but the entire team needs to be using them to really bring out the power in that primary dps.
@@Vinn0 Since super regen is based on how much damage you deal, normal primaries generate lesser super energy than exotics like ToM or outbreak since they deal more through final boosted round on ToM and nanites on Outbreak.
@@yashugoyal1772 Mb I meant exotics, forgot to specify
@@Vinn0 All exotics deal the same 40% more damage at base, so exotics which deal even more damage on top of that, while also having a high firerate will generate more super energy and deal the highest damage.
I would love to see a breakdown of Final Warning, especially since Mechaneer's can technically be used to increase it's damage even more.
this and also im interested in seeing how devil's ruin performs with mechaneers
There’s both the reload buff and the damage buff, it seems that bungie stealth patched allowing self damage to proc mechaneer’s though because it is no longer working (I realized this when trying out a final warning mechaneer’s build in onslaught)
So mechaneer’s outside of the reload buff is more than difficult to pull off, being nigh impossible with the damage.
Even knucklehead?
Try it with foe tracer its nuts
Chicken SI-2 has some great videos on final warning, and they show off how to do the half charge tech. Hihly reccomend you check them out
About final warning :
You don't have to hold the trigger that much. As long as the red square appears is good to let go
2nd.- you can " Tap rapidly " the trigger after the burst to sneak in a few bullets.
2nd is real? Thats wild trick
@@MICROKNIGHT3000 you can get basically the whole mag, it maintains the lockon if you spam tap fire. just... don't injure yourself. I'm serious
But it seem that the damage buff will not apply on the last bullets after the tenth of the burst (?)
@@TadyGloochicken made a video on it. Half burst then tapping is just higher dps. Better than forerunner even.
@@soraneptune4178 Sure, just a precision about damages
the whole sleeping on Final Warning needs to be studied. that gun is ridiculously good! been having tonnes of fun using the strand warlock build involving it recently in onslaught. its just a satisfying weapon!
outbreak was chunking with multiple people before the gjallorhorn/winterbite bug fixes
I recently got blessed with your channel on my recommended and I'm so happy. I love your content and I hope you keep posting banger vids.
Safe to say rewind rounds will add alot of damage to outbreak as solo gun and x5 seeing how nanites work with constant fire. Outbreak also has the benefit of being great add clear and great super regen.
Let's hope nanite hits count towards rewind rounds
@@purdo84 they count as hits that build super energy knowing this games coding i wouldn't doubt this outcome lmao
@@Pcyd my thoughts exactly
Bro i dont wven play destiny anymore but im obsessed with your DPS checking videos
You should definitely do a vid on the half burst final warning tech
I love how he blured all of the weapons but we can still figure which one is XD
Great vid, thanks for the info. And yes please to final warning vid!
Goated video! Would love more DPS testing like rockets, GLs, linears, etc.
And yes, please make a video on final warning! And maybe Eriana’s with lucky pants? Or a malf + witherhoard (teammate) damage rotation?
yea i would love to see the outbreak vid bc i love using it and ive never heard of the half burst strat
Yeah the final warning tech would be nice to see for sure
I wanna see a breakdown of final warning. Especially on warlock, there’s occasionally the one in a hundred time I find myself out of ammo options for DPS and have to use a primary for a decent chunk of time, with no melee-gimmicks as a Titan or lucky pants as a hunter I wanna know what’s optimal to do there and it seems final warning is the answer.
I think it will all come down to our ranges and what the Well nerf looks like next season. If the healing is killed you'll need to optimize with other heals to use Touch of Malice in a ranged fight.
I think its going to be the dmg that takes the hit since the new super seems like the dmg buff super
@@halowars400762 That also might be their way of “buffing” bubble since right now it’s objectively worse than well.
Amazing video! I just thought I would mention that for Final Warning, you don't have to wait for the full burst to auto fire, you can release as soon as the bar hits full, and you get the ten shots out quite a bit faster.
Edit: I think this might be why the half burst tech output more dps, because you aren't waiting after the full charge
Hierarchy of Needs!!!
my understanding is tommy is number 1 but kills you and heirarchy is right behind with catty
It actually goes insane with the catalyst it really caught me off guard how good it was
It's situational, need to be far from the boss to get max damage.
@@EatsUsedTPis well that difficult to sit in?
@@darksphere9933 i use it with both phoenix cradle warlock and orpheus rig hunter, not only is the damage immense but the super regen combined with both those exotics means i have a new well/tether before the old one runs out most of the time, makes add clearing so much easier (especially since the one fragment on solar to cause ignitions with solar super kills counts solar weapon kills while standing in your well)
where OBP excels in is in extended dps phases, wheere time is not an issue but dps is. it takes some time for the dps to ramp up for OBP and once it does it just goes nuts. Dmg phases like on caretaker 3rd floor and final stand.
maven did primary testing awhile back and buzzard (adept) with kinetic tremors out DPS'ed outbreak perfected
Lets comapre them
Buzzard is in the best archetype for dps (sidearms)
Outbreak is in the worst archetype for dps (pulse rifles)
Buzzard has a pretty nice dps perk (kinetic tremors)
Outbreak has a very nice dps perk (nanites)
Unfortunately for outbreak, its archetype is what's really holding it back. If lightweight pulses got a heafty buff like handcannons did, maybe it'll be closer
true but outbreaks only really used as a whole team meme/last resort, outbreak with 6 people getting the nanites to ramp up would beat buzzard
Ty for the vid!!! Could you do a revisit for the outbreak dmg with Rewind rounds? Then mby put it in the list to see where it’s at
I reckon this should have been done once the craftable one was out and is maxed out on the crafting.
Not gonna be much of a difference lol
Also can just test the rewind version after and fit it in
@@Yes-jw4vp it will because you can keep nanites up longer meaning more damage AND less reloading. It wont be crazy, but will definetly juice it a bit.
@@xPureAndTheTaintedx if nanites count as hits for rewind rounds, it could very well be crazy
@@deltapb Yeah it all depends on how they are coded. things like kinetic tremors.explosive payload and incandecent all count for rewind rounds. Im really hoping the nanites do too.
I would really like to see a before and after comparison of Outbreak post Zero Hour re-release!
I would like to see a video on the final warning tech. I think it may also be important to consider knucklehead radar but I know that’s hard to test. Since primary weapons are usually used for final stand when you have no ammo left in your other weapons, knucklehead would be an important variable that will make stuff like final warning and outbreak or ToM even better.
Final warning is vibing on it's own. Very nice
so (for now at least) touch is the best for ranged dps phases so long as you have one user who's job it is to spam the debuf, mid range being lucky pants with whitherhord and malf, and close being final warning (though can be used effectively in mid range)
Yeah that's a pretty good summary!
Would love to see you add an edit using the NEW Outbreak with the new nanite perk from reshaping
note that osteos poison gains damage over time, and reapplying the poison restarts its ramp up, i understand the point was to just shoot the gun at the boss, but osteo can be a second witherhoard-like damage addition while retaining good ad clear!
and without the self dmg ones (could be undesireable in emergencies) it is just behind whatever crack final warning is on
If you run it on strand you can have a severing explosion for hitting rapid precision hits.
Another thing about wardens law and lucky is that it opens up for dragons breath or anarchy passive dps
Week 2 caretaker was quite tough but simply switching to everyone on outbreak for final stand and we cooked
Thanx 4 doin 👍
For the 2-burst ReZo test, I think it might have been better to just fire off the sniper shots as soon as you got to three, as you may have been able to get off three sniper shots, increasing the damage.
We need a part 2 with he new outbreak perks
This thing will be a dps monster with rewind rounds, also interested to see how rapid hit and headseeker will compare when it comes to dps.
+1 for Final Warning video
Yeah what is that half burst tech? It's insane!
We in here in within 10 minutes goated
Wonder how Tommy's or Tarrabah will be with Song of Flame giving it a constant scorching effect, or if that'll even be worth it.
Also out break with rewind rounds might be even better with fewer reloads
Touch of Malice + knucklehead at squeeky bum time (out of ammo end of dps) could be spicy!
can we get a vid showing these in actual final stand scenarios where they’ll be used? … like I wanna see that final warning against final stand caretaker or rhulk or crota for example
Been using this w nightstalker and the boots that give u 50% of the super back in onslaught and its a crime how fast you get a super.
Also when its craftedable youll be able to get like 40+ rounds in the mag with extended mag plus rewind rounds itll cook alot more
I'd love to see more in-depth coverage of Final Warning. I whipped it out once during a Raid because I needed something to pierce Barriers (as I'm allergic to Solar) and it felt like it had the juice, but I still felt like I was using it incorrectly. Thanks for putting this together, I love Primary weapon tests.
PS: Did you ever test Hierarchy of Needs? It's similar to Rat King and Outbreak Perfected in that it gets really silly the more fireteam members use it, but I also know the numbers can be inconsistent due to its range-to-damage scaling feature.
Didn't test HON because I figured it takes too much setup (6 crits to make the ring) and in an emergency DPS scenario I'd rather have my weapon dealing it's max DPS right from the get-go.
@@LlamaD2 Thanks for filling me in, I hadn't considered that as a factor for Primary DPS.
Shoutout to my best random
Also known as himself
“GrenadeLobber” Ninjaface
Man, Outbreak is my favorite gun in rhe e tire game, cant wait to use it with rapid hit in pvp :D
We have to wait until rewind rounds come out that will help boost dps
Rewind rounds gonna help this thing a lot
Exactly! It's the perk I'm gonna put on mine for sure
Final Warning is just a crazy sidearm in both potential subclass utility and damage output. Sometimes you just know how dumb something is the first time you use it.
If possible can you test some legendary primary weapon dps, im curious to see where a hung jury with precision instrument and kentic impulse would land on the last, prob dead last but still curious
Blurring out thumbnails was a dead giveaway so I wasn’t surprised at all. I’m sure others felt this way. May not be a strategy, moving forward but keep up the good work.
fuck yeah more llama content :D
I was really hoping kinetic tremors was given to outbreak when it were to be made craftable, but atleast we got rapid hit and some other great perks.
I always keep it in hand since my team always seems to run out of heavy and special on wave 50.
I feel like rewind rounds will make it pretty good as far as primary dps
Was also used during caretaker day 1 because of the lack of heavy ammo
I was using Final Warning in Onslaught and all I could think was is it really this strong? Apparently the answer is yes it is! I was half burst and tap firing the whole time. Impatient
Hi!
Yes i would love a video on final warning.
the question is: How much of the damage from final warning comes from unravel? It shouldn't be too much, but still worth considering if you're in a 6-man activity and/or have a broodweaver for DPs already
Yeah please make a video on the Final Warning thing
Templar is a pretty short damage window though, Outbreak takes a while to ramp up the damage so I wonder if it would be better in a longer damage phase like Oryx.
outbreak reaches max potential with 5x VERY quickly within a few seconds. While the dps will climb up slightly is not by that much and certainly not enough to beat final warning at close range and touch at longer ranges.
Was wondering how DMT would do? I run fourth-times on mine because you get a lot more bullets off with it but could be interesting to see that vs Vorpal and how it stacks up against these other options. A guide to Final Warning would be great too
We tested a Vorpal DMT and I was originally gonna include it but it was so bad I decided not to, think it was only around 170k.
@@LlamaD2 Oh yikes, that's lot worse than I thought. I don't imagine FTTC being enough of an improvement to make it useful, either... thanks for the confirmation. Love your work!
Damn, was hoping to see energy primaries for the hell of it.
I (personally) find lucky pants and malfeasance or crimson on my hunter to be pretty good primary dps if i can.
I feel like for some of the sidearms and smgs that damage fall off was holding them back a bit, considering how far away you were standing from templar ans the archetype of weapon (sidearm and smg being intended for close quarters use and nothing further beyond that) regardless of how much your damage is being buffed damage falloff will still strongly limit your dps, unless you had a Lunafacts warlock buffing that well for added range
Small "the more you know". Outbreak feels so good because it has the recoil pattern of an auto rifle. So so good
Didn't they actually change that at some point? I remember reading patchnotes about it.
Might I make a suggestion.
Final Warning does not need to be fully charged, rather, one could simply needs to wait for the bar to be completely full on the side to get a full burst. This happens long before Final Warning releases its burst.
should've lowkey used A2TC boss health calculator
I was looking at the boss health and didn’t see any crazy outliers from what was shown. It would be nice to have slightly more accurate stats though
Imagine if lucky pants could buff the paracausal shot
halfburst tech pretty please
You hold down the trigger until the red lock on appears and then you let it burst and then start spamming the trigger, the lock-on and the extra precision damage stays active, you can empty the whole mag on one lockon
Might use Tommy's matchbook more for final stands😅😅
Plz do make a final warning half burst video!
Now, for us Warlocks or Titans (who obviously don't have Lucky Pants), where does Warden's Law and Malf sit?
Should've done a malfeasance×5 to proc the explosions faster
Final warning gang! Little titanfall sidearm has always packed a punch 🥊
The final result showing Lucky Pants beating out everything else in a 12(?) second time window is to be expected, but what about longer DPS phases, like Oryx or Crota, even Taniks perhaps? The reason I'm curious is that Lucky Pants is active for the majority of a Templar DPS test, when that is not going to be the most common span of time for DPS. Heck take Warpriest and Golgoroth, those are long damage phases that Outbreak would be super good for, and Lucky Pants would probably have more competition in overall effectiveness then.
My favorite exotic and my most used weapon it’s a beast in onslaught
Now 5x Outbreak Perfected with Rewind Rounds!
You forgot the spire bow. That’s actually really good for primary damage
People HEAVILY underestemate Final Warning... and i dont get why...
they should make the crafted version strand so it can get unraveling rounds
Without watching i already know Final warning clears all if you know about the tap fire after charging
half burst tech vid pls
Can you do a test of Trust with triple tap vorpal on lucky pants? I think it might be great for when solar surge is active
Not required, but I think an +A would’ve been to rank these options in order of “ease of use/setup” at the end of the video. As always, thank you for testing this… for SCIENCE!!!
Final warning is nuts
Twitch viewers asked for help.
I'M COMING!!!
I think Tarrabah should be tested from full RB stacks since so much time was spent building it up.
Can you do that final warning vid?
Devil's ruin should be shot 14 times then charged at the last round. Great vid btw. :]
Hopefully nanites count towards rewind rounds
So is final warning and tricksleeves the actual dps king?
Should have done this next week once it gets the rewind rounds
Unless that’s weeks after the mission returns
Look at it this way, if he goes ahead and tests outbreak again after the new perks, we'll have a before and after comparison to see what really changed about the weapon and if Damage will be higher.
@@VorrtaX true, true
No Malfeasance x5?? I bet that would slap
What about ticuus? I know it's not the greatest but I figured full stack of causality arrows would make it decent.
please teach us how to use final warning
to no one's surprise, lucky malf+witherhoard still smacks the shit out of everything
Makes me sad that Cerberus+1 isnt good. Can that gun get a rework?
So witherhoard to lucky wardens law would be best then right?
