John Sparkes was one of my favourite comedians of the first wave of New Comedy in the early to mid-1980s, and I got to see him a couple of times. I was especially fond of Siadwell (sic) - here he is as the character in the first episode of series 1 of Saturday Live, on Channel 4, on January 25th 1986. Sparkes later went on to appear in the Channel 4 sketch show Absolutely.
There are a couple of brief glitches.
