B Mac, Dude, you sold me on not only upgrading from my beloved V3, you had me go even further with upgrading to the phase 4. Yeah. That’s right. Thank you Brother.
I just got back into archery after thirty years away. Picked up a v3x33 and I love it. I shoot it every day and the strength and skill are slowly coming back. I don't feel like I'll have to replace it anytime soon either.
Owned Mathews, PSE, Elite and Hoyt....all great bows and companies! With Matthew's I could never get comfortable with the grips and arguably the worst strings and cables in the industry that comes with a flagship bow. I found the new bows VX3's just a little underwhelming, just as good as the V3 and VXR's. But to each their own. I love archery and I think what ever you think is the "best bow ever" is the one you should go with.....don't hate or just be a fan boy, make the choice based on what you like and what gives you confidence and makes you a better archer...keep up your amazing work.

I’m 6 months late to this so you may know this but make sure you have the right rest when you get your quiver. When I bought my V3X last year the same day it was released I bought the Hamskea rest not knowing that it wouldn’t allow me to put all my arrows in the quiver. Hamskea makes a new rest to allow everything to fit correctly. I run the spot hogg dovetail double pin and I love it. You are correct about the limb legs. They are the freakin best and I never take them off. It’s the only limb legs that I know of that keeps your axel and everything off the ground. I love it and I love this bow.
Brandon - totally dig your reviews! I've been a Hoyt and PRIME guy for years. Recently, PRIME --- own three! Love, love, love PRIME! But, but, the V3X is the BEST bow I've shot in 30 years. I'm enjoying this platform in a big way. Oh, and, I would not have had the thought of shooting this bow without yours, MFJJ and others review! Keep the vids coming!

The really most shocking thing to me was the V3X 29’s riser length was the same if not longer than my Halon 32’s but because of how they built the limbs and made the axels, they’re able to have longer risers with shorter axel to axel lengths. Other Note I’m digging the Cutter Stablizers and QD up front. I’ve ordered their new QD for front and their rear bar mount along with a 15 inch front bar and 8 inch for back bar. Can’t wait to try them out and use them this year along with my new V3X 29.
One thing that helped me with using the sideplates is adding tennis racket tape on the grip. Not a ton, just a single layer. It still gives you the contour and feel of the sideplates, but the comfort and warmth of the rubber grip.
I kind of laughed when you said... "People are going to say I'm just a Matthews shill... maybe I am..." Personally, after seeing the bows you've worked with and tested over the last few years, it seems to me you're in a much better place to talk about how bows compare than most of us are... I appreciate your honest approach to all of your videos, keep up the great work!
Got the V3X 33. It was a hard choice because i love the short bows myself. Last long bow i had was the traverse. I looked at the atlas but wasn’t a fan. So i hv my bow set at 29.5 inch draw with 75lb/85% mods. Twisted strings to get me to 88 lbs, however, there was zero!!!!! Valley. It was basically a recurve. So i took the mods to my shop, ground off 1/8 of an inch with the screw installed put on some new lock tight and new felt and that thing shoots like a dream ( the way bows should shoot) the valley is just enough not to try and pull forward but still keeps u honest with back tension. The mod turned out to be 87.5 % let off hold just under 10 lbs. one day n the field and its shooting 3 inch groups at 90 and can hold all day. I happy with it. Spring bear opens here n Montana second week of April and i just built new bear bombs so let the games begin. Nice video brandon. Keep us updated. Go kill some shit
I have the V3X 29, was going to go with the Mathews two piece quiver, but instead opted for the Tightspot Shift Lock, give it a look, fits tighter than the Mathews.
I traded my V3-31 for the Hoyt RX7-Ultra. I walked into the shop 100% positive I was going to walk out with a V3X-33……. Until I shot the RX7-Ultra, absolutely night and day difference and I’d almost call myself a Mathew’s fanboy until I went home with my Hoyt.
Owned a V3X 33 since it came out but after shooting the RX7 Ultra…it’s on another level! The grip, the draw cycle, the way it holds on target, the post shot deadness. Both are excellent bows but that RX7 Ultra is just something else.
@@MidwestBowAndArrow the draw cycle on the RX7-Ultra literally made me chuckle a bit because of how smooth it is. No massive valley like the Mathew’s, just a stupid clean pull all the way through. I couldn’t agree more with everything you’ve said, hands down the best bow I’ve ever shot. It’s made it fun for me all, over again.
@@bigz5262 Dude, you’re going to love it. At least for me, it’s everything you’d want and expect with a flagship bow. I couldn’t be happier, I’m just waiting on my Axel Landslyde Accutouch to get in stock.
@@mtnman1 I agree! I shot one at the store and couldn’t believe it. I had to ask the bow tech if it was actually set at 70 pounds because it was so smooth
Duuuuuddeee!! You are killing me! I own a Traverse and I just finished making a Traverse Frankenbow with Wake limbs, bring the draw weight to 81#. I have been trying to keep away from the 33 lol. This review makes it more enticing.
I have owned my V3X 29 for a year now and I agree 100%. It is the most solid, smooth and repeatable rig I have ever shot out of the box, and then I built it up and it became better. Gonna try and get a 33 this year and I am done buying bows until material tech makes them substantially lighter without the cost of a carbon riser.
Love the video, waiting to save up to trade up into from my Nexus… 😁 Also love that you rocking a Prime hat like G. Honest opinions is what we expect & what you always give. Many Thanks
I just ordered my V3x 33 in Elevated II. Can't wait to shoot it. I've shot Matthews bows for years, but I was never a fan of the Halon, my current bow. It has always felt like a clumsy bow. Hoping this new bow is what I think it'll be.
I have the V3 27 and I love that bow. I have shot the V3X 29 (keep in mind I am shooting cross bow bolts), and I couldn't justify the price/performance over what I am shooting now. I am going to wait to see what they come out with next year. I may buy the new one or just get the V3X 29 we will see.... :) Oh!!! It is great to see you back.
I had the same concern about the two piece quiver not fitting in my bow case. Turns out it fits perfectly and I haven’t had to take it off since I put it on. Only thing I don’t like is that it does generate a little noise if it’s empty.
Im shooting the V3X and realized my vanes are making contact with the canter guard roller. I figured it out when I finally realized why I couldn't paper tune my bow without bad tears and broadheads were landing so far to the right. Wow I feel dumb. That being said shooting a .55"H vane similar to a Blazer vane. Are many people having the same issue or is there something else going on with me setup. Would seem like such a popular bow and vane configuration this would show up more often. Technically a blazer is on .53"H so maybe that is the difference shooting a slightly higher Q2ii Rapt-x
The bridge lock and the picatinny systems are cool but I can say in 30+ years of bow hunting I have never once had a rest or sight come loose on me with standard mounting bolts or a derail. I’m not a stand hunter either. I primary spot and stalk or still hunt, often crawling, lots of banging the bow off the ground, brush, and trees and never an issue. So are the new systems durable? I bet they are. But are they worth the extra $$$ to buy specialized accessories… not to me. Are they an answer to a question nobody asked and just something else to get people to spend their money on… probably. To each their own but if you’re having bolts back out, either something is up with your bow that you have too much vibration or you need to look into a tiny (very tiny) dab of blue lock-tite and proper torquing of bolts.
I agree…best bow I’ve ever shot in my 37 years of archery. I walked into my local archery shop I and asked to shoot the top three brands they carry and decided on the V3X. But to maximize the full capabilities of this bow, you need to have the upgrades that balances this bow out completely (by purchasing a dovetail sight, low-pro quiver, Hamskea Epsilon, flatline stabilizers, Mathews V-Bar, etc.). If you don’t want to buy the upgrades and components that streamline this bow for optimal performance and balance, then it doesn’t make sense to buy this bow. To provide an analogy…it’s like a person that buys a sports car with the V8 under the hood…but doesn’t want to spend the additional money for the upgraded components and instead opts for the basic brakes, basic touring tires, basic shocks, and a manual transmission (which limits the full capabilities of the car).
I just tried a month ago some flagship bows. I have been a bear archery and Hoyt fan. The advice I got from professional shooters and coaches told me find the bow that calls your name so that’s what I did I shot bowtech ,pse,Hoyt and matthews. Loved the rx7 but not the price tag I ended up with a Mathew’s v3x 33 it was what I wanted in a bow for the way I shoot and hunt I never thought I would buy a Mathew’s but that was my fit still love hoyt will see how it goes with my V3X but so. Far I love it
Just got the 29. Really enjoy shooting it so far. The only thing I noticed coming from a hoyt maxxis 31 , is the hoyt is so much better carrying into the woods . So much so , the mathews seemed HORRIBLE, unbalanced and heavy. Unbalanced being the biggest issue. That being said, love the way they t feels shooting and I’ll be using it to close thos season , leagues, 3d shoots, and hunt in 23.
Would love a V3x. I just can't justify paying for one when my 3 year old bow has fresh strings and still works great. Just have to wait for my son to be able to pull it back lol
Your videos are so good. I could have earned a Ph D watching you and taking notes. I just can't say how much I have gained as a born again archer, as in started out in 1984 and using all the old gear and then going overseas for 25 years--coming home to my cabin in the mountains and getting back into bow hunting as a 66 year old man. Thank you for the classes!
Have you been able to test the Ultraview grip? I have it on my V3X and really like it. The angle it makes your hand sit at is pretty comfy and helps with all day shooting in my experience
I bought the 29 I love it. I just bought a Athens Peak 38 too. And I'm just blown away by how much I love that bow. The Athens vistas are probably one of my favorite bows I've ever shot. The vista 33 is awesome and I'm thinking really hard about selling my Mathews 29 and buying the 31. I've always been a short bow guy. I'm a short chunky guy I need a short chunky bow.. or so I think.. the 29 is amazing and so is the Athens 31. I wish they made a little shorter bow
Yea, I thought those top hats were aluminum. I swapped around the top two top hats to get my top cam to move over the smallest increment to the right in order to fix a right tear through paper. After that I only had to move the rest a millimeter to get perfect bullet holes. When you said they were plastic I was thinking if they are they must be the best carbon fiber made. LOL I agree these V3X 33's are the best bows out there.
As soon as I saw the title I said, “I knew it.” You just can’t beat these specs, that riser length. The best there is right now. I’m surprised the top hats are plastic, they’ve been aluminum on previous iterations of this cam going back at least as far as the chill series.
@@michaelcolthart4006 I've looked into atlas, hoyts new highline, pse evo xf, and bowtech revolt XL, unfortunately here in New zealand there's a extremely small market for these types of bows so unfortunately its available only by preorder. Not just driving to nearest pro shop and shooting a couple, so looking for more indepth reviews from people. I believe MFJJ @podium archery is going to do a video about a couple of these longer draw length bows.
love the honest reviews. have the v3, but just thought they were trying to sell the accessories with the v3x. decided to hold off and see what they release this upcoming november and deciding from there. you’re making it tough to not pull the trigger…
I ❤️ that u did away with the which 1 will I choose out of 5? Actually it was 4 cuz your Bowtech was a 🍋. I hope your right about the low profile bulletproof platform. However right now it is just for a couple of manufacturers to pad their profits by being brand specific with your accessories. The market will adjust & I could put a 2 piece quiver that sits flat due to the sight not being mounted also on the other side of the riser. I'm interested to see how many years it will take Prime to develop the Inline Series with beefier cams now that they are going more mainstream with everyone else? Time will tell but it's nice to see u conquered the grip on this V3X. Just curious on what the reflex measurement is in inches. Not really into the brace height thing thanks to MFJJ blowing my MIND a few weeks ago. Thanks for the info of the future. Much better than the naked guy on RENO 911 who baffled the cops on that show with the future 😄!
Did you get the phase 4 this year? Currently own the V3 31 and Levitate and was thinking about the phase 4 33 or RX-7. Phase 4 29 will be too short your thoughts?
Yeah I think I am going to go put my order in for one next week! But the Elite Envision is one sweet shooting bow but the accessories are not even close!. Mathews all the way!
Obligatory “You’re just a Mathews shill” comment. 😆 I don’t see it as smooth, fast, and easy-drawing as the Ventum Pro 33, as fun as the Inline or as snazzy as the Vista 33 in all their colors, but I’m glad you like it. Now bow down to your overlords and spend the cost of another bow on accessories!!!!
Did you own a v3? Accessories aside is the v3x any better? I’m asking because I found a decent deal on a v3. I can’t spend $1000 on all the cool new accessories.
I've shot Mathews for years but I've switched to the Hoyt Ventum Pro. To me the draw cycle blew Mathews out of the water and it was way more dead in the hand
Great review! I've been considering either the Traverse or the V3X 33. If you didn't plan on using the integrated accessories in the V3X 33, is it worth the extra money to upgrade or should I stick with the Traverse?
I love my traverse and I can get my tight spot as close to the bow as the new Mathews quiver goes. One plus to the traverse is that you can get 75% letoff. And you’re not paying 1200 for a bare traverse
What stabilizer lengths and wieght setup did you end up using? You always have great videos and i also love my v3x33. Had a vertix but i felt like i always torqued it a little
Theres only one screw holding the sight on, instead of 3, and thats an improvement... or its only one bolt preventing you from losing zero, instead of 3. I dont know, food for thought.
Always love your videos! I love my V3X 33 I did notice that you have the uv3 and I was wanting cause you where taking about the grip and went with the elk shape side plates. Now have you tried the uv bee real grip? Love to hear your thought on the bee real grip and on the uv3 scope as well. Hope to see you at the TN TAC lol. Thank you for the great content
After a few weeks of shooting my new V3X 33 with stock grips, I bought the Bee real grip and it did make a great improvement. The bee real grip provides a nice wide back where the palm of your had pushes on the riser. It was like the bow was attached to my hand with this new grip. The slightest movement of my wrist makes the bow torque left or right. I like it a lot. I can feel it settler to the middle for no torque left or right. Its like the grip gives you feed back if your accidentally torquing the bow.
Oh also the flat part of the top of the grip that rests on the top of your hand to keep the bow from sliding down fits my hand really well. The bow rests in my hand naturally now.
With your draw length I can understand how the v3x can feel better than the traverse. Myself, 32" DL, feel the traverse easily trumps the v3x. I started the season by ordering a v3x33 and Ventum pro 33 and both are already gone. Main reason being that I found a NOS traverse in the best color mathews ever made, Stone. It's a shame you don't have your traverse still to do a comparison vid. I'd still say at your DL you may lean towards the V3x but I truly feel the traverse is the best bow ever made by Mathews. They only needed to add the switch weight technology to the traverse and re release it. Definitely not a mathews fan boy. I love all rigs. Every company makes incredible pieces now. Im honestly a PSE purely if anything. Maybe one day i can buy flagship rigs from everyone. Til then, I'll sti with my Traverse. If you're in need of a Traverse for a comparison vid feel free to contact me. I have an extra. Did you land any other TAC events besides Big Sky?
Apparently you can just change cams and put switch weight on traverse but you need custom strings. Some guy on UA-cam had a video, wonder if the v3x cams with the built in stay afield system would work🤔...I have a feeling the traverse's older cams are a big part of the smoothness of that bow though.
@@Bluesplayer789 I considered doing the swap on my extra rig but with my 32" DL, at 70lbs, I have all the Speed and KI to kill any big game around. But my main shooter is set about 67lbs, 31.5" (seeing that mathews runs long), and 75% mods. I haven't found a better hybrid yet for target/3d shooting yet. Paired with a stiff 3dhv, I'm not sure I could find a better combo for TAC or outdoor 3d.
@@rescueridgeadventures7776 that poundage and draw length is medicine mate. I was so lucky to have found a used traverse as my first bow, I'm 30.5 (30 mods) 64 pounds and don't see myself changing either👍
But the stinging question still remains, Considering one will not upgrade to the uber expensive accessories, is the V3X 33 worth the upgrade from the V3 31? Does it hold THAT much better?!
friend of mine drew my v3x back to see how it felt, let it down and derailed it. two days after i bought it. didnt hurt it but it was hard to get back together. it can happen....
I agree I have the V3 27 (very similar to the V3X) and I REALLY LIKE IT BUT the durability ? there is one weak link The strings and cables I shoot a lot and the strings just wouldn't hold up!! I was twisting the cables every week , one twist the two at my last tune up he put eight twist in it and it only got to 76 lbs From new it was 78.9 lbs Aside from that WOW can only come to mind I also found it is just OUT RIGHT a fun bow to shoot Steven Hand from UA-cam Archery Supplies did a review and you must watch it he feel in love with the V3 It it one of the best overall bow's I've owned and shoot (just change the strings Ghost XV from Gas really good)
From my icon I'm a little bias I did not opt to purchase the v3x since I got the v3, I am pissed about the cams and the SAS kit ggrrrr.... I love the hold on my v3 effortless.
The end of the video I totally can relate to. “You’re just a Mathews shill” haha I always said I’d never go fanboy and this year after the release I totally went full fanboy. I’ve waited for years for a bow to finally match the right specs and it was totally worth it. That’s coming from a Prime guy too

I need to shoot another one. I shot one at the shop. It was loaded with stab and all. Long story short it felt a little top heavy. Draw was ok but short valley. Still torquey but not as bad as vxr. Cam lean was horrendous. And a wierd vibe after the shot. I really wanted to like it but just couldn’t. I’ll try another cuz I’m due for a new bow and the other manufacturers haven’t really impressed me much this year either
The thing I hate about Matthew’s is how far out of my budget they are. I get that they are a great tool, maybe the best, but so is a Ferrari. As a young father who’s bow hunting is still a budget pursuit, albeit an important one, I won’t be able to buy one anytime soon. Which is why I find guys who hunt with them so annoying. I want to know what works best for a dude who’s chasing excellence on a budget.
Diamond archery makes a decent bow that's affordable. Maybe try to trade up for a bow around $600-800 or look for a used bow at some archery shops. You can typically find some nice ones that are last years version or within a couple years.
Mathews owns a budget friendly brand called Mission Bows. Why would you be annoyed with what others have (seems silly to me)? You do what’s best for you…and that’s why we live in the best country in the world because we have freedom, opportunities, and choices.
Haven’t shot one yet, but heard all the things he is saying are consistent with what I hear. Shoot a prime and got no issues with it. What do you shoot?
Back and forth between: Shooting a BowTech Reckoning (love the quickness and efficiency it affords tuning) and a PSE Focus. Love them both but have shot most of them all over the years. Not a true fan boy of any just like to shoot whatever turns my crank! Although I got to shoot the VX33 at the Foley, AL ASA Tourney at the Mathew’s booth set to my draw length and did like it a lot. Prolly not enuf to go out and buy one… but yeah, it’s a good bow. Was once an HOYT died in the wool fan boy, but they’ve been a bust for too many years - Being a stone cold fan boy, leaves you without opportunities to try other bows! But! I do wanna try the Ultra RX7: heard lots of good things about it!

The tophats aren't plastic. They're aluminum, unless they've changed from their previous models?...
I was about to comment this as well.
Many Thanks
I too am swapping out my trusty Tight Spot 5 in for of the Matthew's offering
I just ordered my V3x 33 in Elevated II. Can't wait to shoot it. I've shot Matthews bows for years, but I was never a fan of the Halon, my current bow. It has always felt like a clumsy bow. Hoping this new bow is what I think it'll be.
I have the V3 27 and I love that bow. I have shot the V3X 29 (keep in mind I am shooting cross bow bolts), and I couldn't justify the price/performance over what I am shooting now. I am going to wait to see what they come out with next year. I may buy the new one or just get the V3X 29 we will see.... :)
Oh!!!
Check out the ultra view Mathew’s grip. I prefer it to the elk shape. Spot on assessment
It’s not really about coming loose, who said that? It’s about getting all of the mass in the center of the bow
Matthew's grips have never worked for me, but I'm super jealous of the engaged limb legs.
There is this really weird thing you can do, you can pull off the grip and put a different grip on I know it sounds crazy but true
It’s very tempting to refinance my house to get a $2500 total bow setup-bow, sight, quiver, case, arrows, etc….
You should probably invest that $2500 to get your GED.
2500 try almost 3 grand but don’t need to buy another bow ever
Did you shoot the rx7 ultra?
Haven't shot it yet but definitely want to give her a go!
Top hats are aluminum I’m pretty sure. I have a kit and they all are.
They are
I just tried a month ago some flagship bows. Far I love it
I honestly want to have another v3x 33 and set it up for indoor Vegas. Then get another for a backup when one kicks the dust lol
Mathews are a little top heavy. But they are the best shooting and dead in the hand bow on the market. Run a back bar that will help you out
Would love a V3x. I just can't justify paying for one when my 3 year old bow has fresh strings and still works great. Just have to wait for my son to be able to pull it back lol
Are the top hats not aluminum???
Great video as always. It is a dope bow. I'm still grinding with the vertix. It's still treating me good. But you never know.
I sold my v3 31 to go back to the vertix it's a great bow. Barely anything has changed except more string angle options
Tophats are made of aluminium, at least on V3.
Great video, but the tophats are Aluminum.
Yea I caught that too
Have you been able to test the Ultraview grip? I have it on my V3X and really like it. The angle it makes your hand sit at is pretty comfy and helps with all day shooting in my experience
Would LOVE for you to compare the King Cobra from APA to your V3X
I bought the 29 I love it. I just bought a Athens Peak 38 too. And I'm just blown away by how much I love that bow. The Athens vistas are probably one of my favorite bows I've ever shot. The vista 33 is awesome and I'm thinking really hard about selling my Mathews 29 and buying the 31. I've always been a short bow guy. I'm a short chunky guy I need a short chunky bow.. or so I think.. the 29 is amazing and so is the Athens 31. I wish they made a little shorter bow
Haha, I still want to get my hands on some Athens stuff. Maybe later in the year. Lots of people liking them this year
I buy 3 or 4 bows a year and now own 2 Vista 35's. Simple bows, nothing cutting edge. just a pleasure to shoot and holds on target great.
Not sure how he figured they were plastic. They are definitely aluminum
completely agree... I am getting way tighter groups with my V3X vs my V3
As soon as I saw the title I said, “I knew it.” You just can’t beat these specs, that riser length. The best there is right now.
I’m surprised the top hats are plastic, they’ve been aluminum on previous iterations of this cam going back at least as far as the chill series.
Yea I think he’s wrong mine are still aluminum
I’m wrong! Edited the description to reflect. For some reason they’ve always seemed like plastic to me.

Faith restored.
Would love to see something for the long draw length lumberjacks, in market for a new bow with my 32.5/33inch draw length.
You try an Atlas?
@@michaelcolthart4006 I've looked into atlas, hoyts new highline, pse evo xf, and bowtech revolt XL, unfortunately here in New zealand there's a extremely small market for these types of bows so unfortunately its available only by preorder. Not just driving to nearest pro shop and shooting a couple, so looking for more indepth reviews from people. I believe MFJJ @podium archery is going to do a video about a couple of these longer draw length bows.
You are spot on!The best to date!
Besides the new Hoyts. Best bows ever made
love the honest reviews. have the v3, but just thought they were trying to sell the accessories with the v3x. decided to hold off and see what they release this upcoming november and deciding from there. you’re making it tough to not pull the trigger…
Exactly, funny they cut a hole in the riser and now it’s the greatest bow ever.
Brandon great video but you did the whole Mathews praise in a prime hat lol
I think top hats are aluminum I have some that wore out a bit and you can see aluminum where the black paint came off the top hat
Bought the v3x 33 and hate the grip. Did you try the uv grip before the side plates? Great video!
Now bow down to your overlords and spend the cost of another bow on accessories!!!!
bowverloards
I bought a Ventum pro 33 on the spot after shooting it. Best Bow of the year.
Not trying to be that guy but I work on bows weekly in a shop setting and I’m pretty sure that the top hats are machined out of aluminum.
They are
Brandon, which shop did you buy it from? The Archery Den?
Did you own a v3? Accessories aside is the v3x any better? I’m asking because I found a decent deal on a v3. I can’t spend $1000 on all the cool new accessories.
I've shot Mathews for years but I've switched to the Hoyt Ventum Pro. To me the draw cycle blew Mathews out of the water and it was way more dead in the hand
Agreed
Agreed. Hoyt knocked it out of the park this year. Perfect all around bow
Thanks Brandon, yeah, I 'hear what you're saying' about the mods but you do know what your draw length is now? You have stopped growing you know. ;)
I know I know.. I still like to mess around. Ive actually found the prime holds better for me at 29.5. Overall though, you’re right.
@@brandonmcdonald6121 is this legit? Have you been hacked? Just checking……
The V3X is the one that finally got me to leave Prime. Selling the Nexus. V3X ordered in FEB.
If i had a 29 plus inch draw length id probably agree with a lot of your sentiments.
What stabilizer lengths and wieght setup did you end up using? You always have great videos and i also love my v3x33. Had a vertix but i felt like i always torqued it a little
So what ever came out of the Inline? Maybe i missed a video
Really interesting bow, but until they come out with mods and draw stops I can adjust at home I won't consider a matthews
Matte chill and vxr 31.5 both had bearing go bad in both cams. Maybe the new cams will be better. Until then, the hoyt ventum 33 will be my bow.
Great what do I do now?
I shot the V3X 33 and it's good, but I still love the Traverse more. Bought a second Traverse so I have one for hunting and a single pin for 3d.
Have you shot the 29?
Mathews top hats are metal sir. Aluminum I think
can this bow be set at 55#,,? and shoot good,,,
What stabilizer combo do you go with?
Headed to SVA tomorrow, excited to shoot this one along with others and see what all the hype is about! This got me excited to spend some money!
The inner surface (race) on a bearing doesn't spin... they're stationary while the BEARINGS and the shell rotate around the inner race.
But the stinging question still remains, Considering one will not upgrade to the uber expensive accessories, is the V3X 33 worth the upgrade from the V3 31? Does it hold THAT much better?!
I probably wouldn’t trade up.
friend of mine drew my v3x back to see how it felt, let it down and derailed it. two days after i bought it. didnt hurt it but it was hard to get back together. it can happen....
I love your videos dude!!!
Perfect review! I hate you because now I want to try this bow out lol
Couldn’t agree more!!
Excellent work as always 🤘🏼
80 yard cold shot 😏
I agree I have the V3 27 (very similar to the V3X) and I REALLY LIKE IT BUT the durability ? there is one weak link The strings and cables
I shoot a lot and the strings just wouldn't hold up!! I was twisting the cables every week , one twist the two at my last tune up he put eight twist in it and it only got to 76 lbs From new it was 78.9 lbs Aside from that WOW can only come to mind I also found it is just OUT RIGHT a fun bow to shoot Steven Hand from UA-cam Archery Supplies did a review and you must watch it he feel in love with the V3 It it one of the best overall bow's I've owned and shoot (just change the strings Ghost XV from Gas really good)
I thought the top hats were aluminum??

Mathews are 100% more top heavy than my RX7-Ultra, just traded in my V3-31.
I thought the top hats were aluminum
They are. I’m dumb and put it in the description
Completely agree man.
Heard that dude.. I’m still shooting a powermax..but I heard from a guy on UA-cam that more expensive bows make bigger deer come by your stand..
Diamond archery makes a decent bow that's affordable. Maybe try to trade up for a bow around $600-800 or look for a used bow at some archery shops. You can typically find some nice ones that are last years version or within a couple years.
It annoys you that guys buy nice bows and hunt with them? Just because you can’t afford them? Wow, it must suck to be so easily bothered by others.
Mathews owns a budget friendly brand called Mission Bows. Why would you be annoyed with what others have (seems silly to me)? You do what’s best for you…and that’s why we live in the best country in the world because we have freedom, opportunities, and choices.
Put in some extra work and save that's how I got mine
Brandon just created a Mathew’s fanboy paradise 🤦🏽♂️
The top hats are not plastic/delrin. They are machined out of aluminum.
