I live in the greater sac area, moved here 5 years ago and probably will never leave.. love it, so conveniently located. 2 hrs from Lake Tahoe and 2 from the bay!
Part of my heart still hasn't healed from the Sacramento Kings lost title in 2002. My all time favorite NBA team. Greatest fans in the world. Long live the Kings!
I remember that year, I was in Las Vegas as a Lakers fan, the elevator opens up at our hotel and it's filled with a family of Kings fans. I was decked out in my Laker gear (of course).... I made a joke like is it safe for me to get in (Obviously it was). We laughed and moved on. Crazy series, Kings were a very big problem for the Lakers.
I lowkey miss Sacramento. I moved from Oregon to Sacramento, and then moved back to Oregon. I miss all the things to do, the events, the good people I met. Some of my best times there, if it wasn’t so expensive I’d live there again!
Wow what a great video and showcase of some great attractions in Sacramento! Side note shout out my boy Martin got himself a güerita that’s right perroooo puro adelante ❤
I live about an hour and a half north of Sacramento, and I also never really appreciated the city until recently. When you live in an area your whole life, you sometimes take what you have around you for granite, so sometimes it's nice to see your area through someone else's eyes. There are even MORE cool places in Sac, then what you showed. Next time you should visit Sutter's Fort, the Cathedral and one of the Russian churches. I also recommend Marysville, a cool little multicultural Gold Rush town, and Yuba City for Punjabi and Pakistani culture, and North Table Mountain in the spring for wildflowers and waterfalls.
Great video! Hope you make another one in the future, maybe of the areas outside of the midtown/downtown area featuring north sac, south sac, Arden…. Because Sacramento is super diverse too. I grew up here but couldn’t wait to get out and moved to the Pacific Northwest after high school. I loved it up there but wow it was missing the diversity and I always felt like I was sticking out from the crowd. I recently moved back with my husband and kids and I’m learning to love Sacramento for the good things here.
I’ve lived in Sacramento my entire life and have always wanted to move somewhere in the PNW. Haven’t decided yet on Oregon or Washington from state. I live hiking and spending time outdoors. I know it colder there so it’ll be an adjustment. You have any advice for me? 😄
I’ve lived in Sac for 5 years (Fair Oaks then Midtown, then West Sac) and there is indeed a lot to do. I will say tho after 5 years, I’m over it. The downtown doesn’t seem to be progressing fast enough, homeless population has increased (walking in midtown after 9pm I call night of the walking dead) nightlife is kinda boring, and what irks me is during the winter they don’t dress up the downtown or capitol area much, it’s boring and dark. So I’m moving to the East coast for a few years, then see how it’s progressed. We own a home so can always come back. Sac River front has so much potential..when you go to other cities it makes me sad Sac just can’t get it together!
That’s crazy. I’ve grown up in Maryland my entire life. I visited my brother once in Sacramento before he moved to LA and I’m moving to sac in September. 😂
@@nasermansoori9914 Im from the South Bay, are you living in the Bay Area? Because Hayward and Fremont are very different areas. I’d say Fremont has way more industry and next to San Jose and has more to do.
@Alex Jerome K street is where a lot of bars are and you’ll have constant crowds of ppl cuz the Golden One center is right there. I would say you’re prob better suited for Folsom it sounds like, BUT maybe try something new with K st? Lot of homeless people though and make sure you have parking figured out or you’ll be frustrated.

I've lived here for 30 years now. Once you leave downtown and midtown you are basically in "Anytown USA", however there are some really great things here... many are what you might call hidden gems. If you expect to find all the greatness here without really looking, you will think it sucks. There is another bad thing about Sacramento, the preponderance of people living in the surrounding areas- Natomas, Rancho Cordova, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove... they all claim Sacramento and then say it sucks. Yea, where they live does. Most of them hate on this place... but it is only boring here, if you yourself are boring. If you can't find some really cool things here, that is on you. Quit hating on this place.
How cool! I've always thought that Sacramento has a lot to do. You confirmed it. Thanks for showing us the town and the historic area. I'd love to see the museum. Thanks for the heads up about getting tickets online.
I like that Sacramento has decent public transportation. It is a city and the state's capital. It can't be that boring if it's California's state capitol city. I like that there is a Trader Joe's which is my favorite grocery store.
Im too grateful for this city and its surrounding areas. I got to give a big thanks to everyone for coming out and letting me see them. Go ahead and laugh first, strike first, uknowingly for a reason you cant quite make sense of. Remember you went first 😁❤️✌️
All I gotta say is that most of those places as I was growing up, esp I hot to go on a field trip to the rail road museum and Captial. I really miss Sacramento 😢
I’ve been living in Elk Grove (30 min from Sacramento City, still in Sac county) my whole life, never been to any of these places except the bridge ofc and possibly the art museum too
Great you hit on the places in and around Old Sacramento, great tourist spots. Did you also notice the tunnel that goes from Old Sacramento under I 5 to Macy’s, also the Kings Stadium? Very convenient alternative to driving to the other side of I 5 when parked on Old Sacramento side.

I moved to sac from the bay a few years ago (have since left). I’m sorry to be the negative Nancy here, but the cons outweigh the pros immensely. Of course there is beauty there and some cool places to go.. but that aside, the amount of garbage on the streets, the amount of crime, not to mention the homeless population is just insane and so sad. I lived in Natomas and I would have to watch my step because the homeless had nowhere to shit, so they would literally shit on the sidewalk. I finally, for the first time in my 33 years of life, left California and I moved to Pennsylvania and i finally see how fu**ed up California is. Anyway, I’m sorry to leave a crappy comment on your video, the video itself is great, i just hated sac lol.. oh except floating down the American River.. always a fun time!
But look where you live and honestly that’s the ghetto sweetie so of course your experience would not be all that great and did you even go anywhere fun? Or positive? Yes, I have gone out, and I’m not saying the entirety of Sacramento sucks completely. As I stated in my comment, there are places that are beautiful. But again, the cons outweigh the pros. As you stated, I lived in the ghetto, because that’s all I could afford and that was making an ok wage. The prices are astronomical. So yes, if you can afford to live in a nice home, I’m sure your experience will be somewhat better than mine. But yes, I have my opinion, you have yours. Also, please don’t call me sweetie. Thanks.
People say it’s nothing to do but there I find that people that say that are usually hormones that just drink at bars and go to sporting events which Sacramento has. There is also theater and music in Sac. My least favorite is the hot summers and the allergy season and the homeless doing drugs in the streets.
The “River Trail”, appears to be in West Sacramento (Yolo County) not Sacramento (Sacramento county). Bacon and Butter is good restaurant, but usually one hour wait. I avoid downtown Sac, high number of homeless and restaurants charge extra fee. I drive to Rocklin, Roseville, or Folsom to eat. Those cities are more cleaned than downtown Sac dump. Sacramento DA sued the Sac city for failing to housed the homeless. Bacon and Butter is far away from downtown, that is the positive side of this video.
