Those of you wondering why the middle seatbelts are not tighter- the seatbelts need to have SOME slack. If they were totally rigid, the forces of the accident would be passed to the occupant body. Just like crumple zones extend the time force has to dissipate, controlled occupant motion extends the time a body has to absorb the force. The key is *controlled* occupant motion in a big survival space without any blunt impacts. It’s a tricky balancing game.

Torso and Pelvis didn’t do so well in the side crash. Disappointing for such a large vehicle with lots of mass and room to mitigate loading to those regions.
