Just traded my third Telluride, a ‘22 model, in on a ‘24 model. They just keep getting better. Love the addition of the 360 degree camera and the dynamic dash.
Love my new 2024 Palisade Calligraphy; the drivers seat has an extension to give added support to your legs on a long trip. The body message is also a nice added feature. The safety feature's are great to include noticing stop signs, and the speed limit icon illuminating red when your over the speed limit, and a school zone icon illuminating when you're approaching a school zone. So many added features over our 2020 Palisade Limited. Very happy with the vehicles comfort, performance, and overall safety features.
I’m 6’5” and when I started shopping, I was looking at the Ford Explorer since I’ve always been a Ford guy. After comparing the Explorer with both the Palisade and the Telluride, realized that they both had more headroom and legroom for me than the Explorer and were cheaper. Purchased the 2020 Palisade when they first came out, but could not get used to the push button shifter and the fact there was no sunglass holder on the upper console. Also not crazy about the base unit being cloth seats vs. leather. Traded the Palisade in after 3 months and went with the Telluride. I’m now on my third Telluride as I upgrade to different levels with each unit. Both are quality vehicles with no issues after three years of ownership. Comes down to personal preference but you can’t go wrong with either one. I’m not sure why anyone would complain about the power output of either one since they are both fine in regards to acceleration.
Hey Rocket, that is the same reason I did no got with the Palisade. I know that I would never get use to the push bottom for the shift. I will get another Telluride real soon. En joy yours!!!!
Thanks for sharing. We just bought a 2024 telluride and I was leary about the reliability over time. I too am a Ford guy and I also prefer an actual shifter.
I bought the Palisade Calligraphy and after just under 2,000 miles, I'm very happy I did. I enjoy the very nice and quiet ride. I also think it has enough pickup and go to make highway driving an easy chore. I got around 25.5 mpg on my latest 1,200 mile round trip and yes the Calligraphy was almost brand new when we put it on the road. My interior is quiet although I can't tell if the tires are adding to some road noise. We got the Moonlight Blue with beige interior and it looks very classy.
Two great looking cars but Palisade has everything the Kia offers yet adds extra centre compartment stowage, ergo motion driver seat, second row seat wings, third row heated and electronic folding seats, all for nearly $2000 less. No brainer really.
The Kia has that massaging lumbar thing, too. I think the Palisade has the ability to pull out from a parking space without the driver in the car. The Telly can't do that. But it really comes down to looks. They are pretty much the same car otherwise.
Make it easy…. Get your wife a telluride and you grab a palisade (or vice versa). Simple…. That’s what I did. Seriously, she has a 2020 Telluride which has been exceptional and I grabbed a 2024 palisade night edition (black) a few months ago. Honestly don’t know you can beat the value of either and for me it’s a toss up. Agree that the exterior off the telluride is more appealing typically but my night edition with black gloss vinyl wrapped chrome accent and front row tint is an exception of that general statement for me. Either way, I imagine whichever you get you’ll be pay for years to come…
I bought the Palisade Calligraphy as it rides more soft and the seats are more comfortable... Driver's side has a type of massage that helps my back (probably doesn't matter much to persons without back trouble). I like them both but need that extra comfort.
@GARHYLT01 well, looks were mainly the driving factors for my decision. I have telluride in green moss. I think hyundai just does not come in so many color options too. With engine and transmission similar, I thought telluride felt like a better and more responsive faster drive. (Just slightly). There is hardly any difference though.
I Love my '20 Palisade and a Giant Safety reason was the amber rear turn/hazard indicators which are easier to see-read and might help prevent a rear collision.
I have the 23 Telluride lx. it has everything I need and great mileage for it's size. WE took it across the country through 32 states, 12000 miles in three months and loved it.
I was very close to buying the Kia, I love the rust interior...but when I got in the Palisade it was an instant decision. The Palisade just had that feel of a luxury car and even though I would like to go off road a bit which the Kia admittedly would be more suitable, something about the Palisade just wouldn't let go. I bought the Palisade. Very happy
I got the 2022 Kia Telluride and I loved it. Was in an accident and it was a total loss. But will go for the Kia, I personally prefer the shift nob than the push Bottoms.
I hear the Pallisade has free maintenance for 3 years and the Telluride does not. I have a 2023 Kia Telluride SX Prestige that I love but the maintenance has become very expensive (almost double in price since COVID and inflation). This is an important selling point if the vehicles are so similar.
Subscribed and liked b/c you crushed this video. Only missed the massaging drivers seat offered by Palisade, but you got everything else that everyone else doesn’t discuss. I’m shopping both. So glad found your video. Very well done and jam packed with data, specs, info w/o a lot of fluff. Appreciate it. Great job. Now, can you do a top trim comparo of the new hybrid mid size suvs offered by these brands. The 21mpg combined for Telluride/Palisade is out dated. 3 row hybrid midsize suvs are a thing now. Need your expert review. 😊
True, but I went with the Telluride since I live in Georgia and wanted to support local build vehicles. I prefer the look of the Telluride as well. Both are good value. The redesigned 2026 Palisade pictures are out, looks much better now. Waiting to see Kia’s response.
@henrygraterol I agree. If I could, I would also buy the Telluride because it looks good over the Palisade. It definitely a beautifully designed vehicle. It could last just as well. Who knows.
Telluride all day. The nose on the Palisade is ugly. The Palisade does have some extra features, but for the minor extras, features looks win. Brown interior is class.
NO Reviewer mentions the sometimes insane markups Kia Dealers will have for the Telluride. There a few Hyundai dealers with 0 markup on all the cars sold at the dealership. Hence the price difference can go into the 10s of thousands.
There is a FB Group Kia Telluride Complaints group. Too many issues. The scariest one is from someone whose son told him that their telluride started on its own. Garage was filled with fumes.
Palisade ride quality is soft; iron out uneven terrain and bumps. The Telluride ride quality is on the stiffer side. The cargo capacity is inversely proportional to the third raw space. Telluride offers less third row space but more cargo capacity while the palisades offers more third row space but less cargo capacity 18 Vs 21
@@al151I just bought a 2024 Palisade Calligraphy and the interior is quiet. My last 3 vehicles were Lexus and the Telluride road noise is no different than my Lexuses 🤷♀️
Fantastic review! One of the best I’ve seen and the side by side video comparisons were really helpful. It feels like the Palisade caters to a slightly older demographic? Just my opinion. Love this video. Thank you!
Thank you for that! Yes, I think the Palisade caters more to the luxury oriented folks, so you could say it potentially caters to an older demographic.
The attempt to bring back the 80's block type body style gets old fast IMO. That said, I slightly prefer the Telluride for the outside looks, albeit less than previous years. The inside, I have no idea how anyone can prefer the interior of the Telluride vs the Palisade. It's actually not even close. I was determined to buy the Prestige...until I drove the Calligraphy. Again, for me, not even close. The Palisade was an easy choice.
We recently went and test drove both vehicles as my wife may be in the market soon. Tough choice and they are so similar. I think she's leaning Palisade as of right now, but I like and dislike certain things about each. I must say, with all the tech and features in these, I was shocked they didn't already have wireless Android Auto/Carplay. She's considering just holding off until they are refreshed cause she doesn't want to use a dongle / adapter for that haha. I also found the insane number of trim levels on the Kia rather annoying. WAY too many. One feature she wants is 2nd row heated/ventilated seats. For some reason to get that on the Telluride you pay around $7k more than the Palisade for that feature. That was a fairly significant discrepancy I thought. No idea why you have to get almost top tier trim in Telluride for that feature which is becoming fairly standard these days.
Telluride looks more rugged, aggressive, battle ready & off-road kind of vibe vehicle with a touch of good luxury! The interior looks has a more user friendly intuition for me & practicality with traditional nice looking gear lever than the Pallisade which looks more like a wanabe gentleman with those tiny gear buttons.😂 So for me, its the Telluride 💯!
It drives like a boat and is super boring. If you need more space, its the clean winner, but the Palisade, Telluride, and CX-90 are way better vehicles.
Sat in and drove both. Telluride reminded me too much of a boxy Range Rover. Palisade is sleeker. It's probably why it gets 1 mpg better than Telluride. 3 years maintenance was a plus. Space under console is perfect for wife's purse. Like the textured metal instead of old school wood. I got the black Palisade Caligraphy Night Edition. LOVE the black grill, black window moldings, black wheels, black insignia, and darker window tint. Very sinister looking.
