I’m so sorry you’ve had a cult like experience with the company. I can honestly say this is not my experience. I’ve been in the company for 24 years. I’ve built friendships and still remain friends with those who left. I was never pressured into going into debt for inventory. I was given an option to choose and I chose I would use the money from sales to gain inventory, pay for conferences and seminars. The only way I came out of my pocket is if I’m buying products for myself. So to it is a cult company is kind of reaching and that’s my opinion. I understand if that’s what you went through but not everyone experience that. With that being said, I still love watching your content and will continue to watch your content. We can agree to disagree.
Glad you watched and listened. Its for sure my experience and how i see it now being on the other side. Its for sure not everyone but it community you become apart of make it that way for many. Sharing my story will be eye opening bc i have many experiences and stories i have seen with my own eyes
I’m so glad you’re talking about how cult like the company is. Ive been out for a year now and no one no one from NSD’s that I was “close” with don’t have anything to do with me now. I’ve never drank their kool aide and don’t feel bad for leaving. But geez they are very much like a cult.

Amber, I started following you back in “those days” but this honesty has really made me love you even more. It is so easy to get sucked in but I respect you being true to yourself and as a beauty influencer I trust your opinion! Thanks for being so vulnerable and sharing this. There is such a stigma on both sides.

I don’t think it’s cult. It’s only a cult if you let them. I think it’s a great way to start a business and learn business 101 for those who would like to learn and partner with the right company and the right people. But joining a company should not make you change who you are as person but to help you grow as an entrepreneur.
@@Beautygraciouslyvlog i hear you and thats why i was with them for so long and also had a great career. But the more i knew, way i was treated it just had to stop because it wasnt good for my mental health. Also why for the last 6 years i worked also and had way more success then working in the “community” with others from the company. I can share more depending on if i see its wanted
It’s not business 101 though, you are learning predatory business practices from predatory people

It’s unfortunate you had the experience, but I can wholeheartedly affirm the opposite. In 14 years I’ve seen people come and go and maintain intentional relationships, outside connections, and friendships. It is important to remember two things….. 1) the continued connection is a two-way street and 2) when people leave a company, church, etc. they often disconnect naturally because they are less in each other’s spaces. That is normal. If you leave a team do you forever maintain frequent interactions? No. You may for a while but it is natural that they fade. Some special people may be forever friends, but not everyone.
Yes, this is my opinion and story. Im happy to hear you have seen and had a great experience. You never know whats really happening in someone work life because it very different for each person. Im looking forward to sharing more as its not to bash but to share.
I agree with this and have personally had this experience as I only stay active for personal use now. But I've heard horror stories and I'm grateful I have not experienced that.

I started following you when we were in "that" business at the same time, I watched your videos for makeup tips! :) Let me tell you briefly, my brother was in the hospital on life support and i was with him every day. People in "leadership" were calling and texting me to say i needed to still be working my business, that life will go on. WHAT???? My brother came to my home and I was his care taker until he passed three months later. I was slowly trying to get going again after stepping back during those months. I went back to two meetings and just watched and listened and said to myself, "what are you doing here" and never went back! Only one person has ever contacted me to ask what happened and I've heard from no one since. Definitely a cult like culture.

I have been a Mary Kay Consultant for 19 years. More recently a personal use consultant and learned/trying other brands. I have NEVER heard of, seen or witnessed anything like this. Just like a church which is full of broken people, some organizations have the same. If this video was about cults in general I’d find it interesting but I’m like what the heck are they watching? lol I watched Waco cult stuff but I’m a one and done cult gal. I use to ‘people’ all the time but I got out of the banking industry and started working from home so I don’t have to ‘people’ anymore especially with an open border by stupid Biden!
🤭I can so relate to this. I was with Mary Kay for 5 years and then Avon for another 10. To me they are both very cult like. I lost all of my what I thought were very close friends when I left the organizations. Even now when I see one of them in a store they will snub me. It's crazy. Crazzy!
