Just fyi: this also works on 2015 and up F150s (although the speed readout isnt hidden or anything) and is useful for when the gauges desync from what the pcm is reading. Sometimes, the speedometer will display incorrect information and will read higher or lower than what the speed actually is. Putting it into ETM resets the gauges.
I was just bitching to my dealer, the brakes squeak damn near the whole time I had the thing on the original pads and they squeak again less than 5000 miles into the new pads
@@matthewsteinert1002 same problem, think it’s the slide pins sticking. Suggest getting new ones. Next time I do my brakes again I plan on doing so. Should have replaced them, I did notice them not working well.
You could even do this on the old ones, my 2000 used to do it it would just display on me mileage area. You control it with the trip odometer reset button

Newer Garmin GPSs I'm a fan of partially due to right bottom corner I can have speed and speed limit listed that turns red when exceeded. However I've gotten so used to it that driving cars without it I don't know what speed to drive! lol
Every ford vehicle has a way to do that my 2007 does that you can get computer codes of your check engine light is on digital tach and Speedo both mph and kpm fuel rail pressure brake pressure the list goes on

Stop living in the 80's dude. Computers now control the air to fuel mix the accelerator calls for without running too rich or too lean. The only reason a vehicle needs to "warm up" is if it's cold outside and you need to defrost the windshield.

If immediate combustion itself doesn't hurt the thick block of cast iron or aluminum during startup, it's definitely not gonna hurt it afterwards. Unless you have a block made of glass, you shouldn't have a problem.
My company vehicle is a 2018 Ford Transit Connect that has a digital speedometer. My personal vehicle is a 2014 F-150. I wish the F-150 had a digital speedometer. So much nicer to be precise.

yes, its purely for diagnostic purposes. most all newer vehicles have a "hidden" feature like this. my 2017 maxima has a diagnostic feature that shows yaw rate and various other sensor readings. digital speedo is a factory feature though.
Did you have to use the second plug-in on the white part of the back of the cluster I have a 2010 F-150 XLT with only one plug for the top in mind did not work mine looks just like yours
the 2014 ford f150 doesn't display a digital read out of your speed, just the analog which can be incorrect. mine is, i'll have my nuvi on and my speed will be 65 but the speedometer needle will indicate 67 or so. i think ford dropped the ball on that part of the driver information module.

It is getting to the point that a Dash Cam is imperative. Viewing the recording while driving is a distraction. The one I use, the Rove, displays a black screen with your date, time, speed, and direction of travel while recording. It is nice to have that to verify my instruments (which are not accurate BTW). And you get video of really idiot drivers.

Depends on the wheels and tires setup you have also. Bought my 5.0 truck with aftermarket wheels and decent size all terrain tires. It averaged 15 mpg. I upgraded to larger mud terrain tires. Now I average 12.5 mpg. 17mpg seems doable on stock wheels and tires. ,and good driving habits of course
Kind of an anti climatic ending, the font and size of the numbers is a letdown. Ford could have at least had some graphics and a bigger font for the digital speedo, just saying....

it depends on how you drive, I average about 18 in my f 150 5.0
I get 20 to 22 driving 60 in my 2012 5.0 and 14.5 when driving 95 on the interstate
