This is from "A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: The Dream Warriors". It's one of the best in the franchise.
Part One three and 4 in that order.
@@Janaesp12 I concur. I'll also add New Nightmare in there as well.
We saw it in the theater 🤘
@@Janaesp12 Sounds about right.
@@lucifer73 I saw it with my mom! We both liked it!
In My Dreams is another good one of theirs.
In My Dreams - Guitar solo of the year
Yes!! React to In My Dreams Please
That is a very young Patricia Arquette who starred in this movie and video....
No she is secondary Nancy, which is her real name, is Heather is the main character.
@dreamwarriorss4731 no it is Patricia arquette as stated. Heather langenkemp did star in this movie too if you watch it
One underrated actress.
@@JaneWalters-ni7se absolutely. Loved her in stigmata too
@@dreamwarriorss4731 Secondary? Patricia was the final girl in Nightmare 3.
Guitar player George Lynch was a top 3 guitarist of that era. He was a killer into the mid 90s.
Absolutely! And another weird note to that: while they were recording that album, Lynch decided to take classes at GIT in Hollywood. I imagine having him as a classmate must have freaked out some of the kids taking classes at MI at that time.
Saw him a few weeks ago with Lynch Mob still amazing
Still incredible. Dude is a machine
He was one of my favorite guitar players to go see. Now crazy as it may sound, I really enjoy watching 14 yr old Taj Farrant. This kid is a phenom.
“Into the 90’s”?? He’s still incredible
This is from A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors which is a fan favorite by a lot of people. This song was written for the movie and was originally released as a single on February 10th, 1987. It was also released on Dokken's fourth album Back for the Attack which came out on November 2nd, 1987.
Dokken has a healthy catalog of songs. You can bang your head, rock your head, you can Bob your head, their are no weaklings in their music.
Don Dokken-singer
George Lynch-guitar
Jeff Pilson-bass
Mick Brown-drums
The Skull N Bones guitar is a signature piece of George’s.
It’s first appearance was in the video for “It’s Not Love”…
Do that tune next.
That guitar is also in the video for the song, "Burning like a Flame", and the guitar actually comes alive, great song also!
Don Dokken has an awesome alliterative name. It sounds more like a superhero's real name.
"Heaven Sent" from their "Beast from the East" album. Best live version.
Totally Agree! The guitar solo in that version is absolutely wicked!
I was thinking the same thing but also taking it a little further. Any song you want to hear or react to, check if it's on Beast from the East and play that version!
Happy birthday and This was a song made for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3-Dream Warriors. Such a classic track 🤘🏻
Lead singer, Don Dokken, was operatically trained. That's why he can hit those notes with such ease. Although, he said it took many takes in the studio for him to reach that final note at the end of the video.
Where did you hear he was operatically trained?
He wasn't. And it's a shame, he's still touring but he can't really sing anymore. He's a chain smoker still.
That happened with Geoff Tate from Queensryche. Just with getting older and his voice changing he has not been able to hit the same notes on songs from The Order or Operation Mindcrime.
I think Rob Halford is one of the few metal vocalists who can still hit some of those notes like back in the good old days.
@@inrockwetrust73 As we get older our diaphragms loosen up, and for singers like Tate with an "operatic" style, it's very noticeable when that starts to happen. It's happening with me, I used to have a huge range, and an especially high falsetto. Falsetto is gone completely and my natural range is about 2/3rds of what it used to be.
"Burning like a flame" is a good one too. Also features more of that skull guitar
I forgot about that one, very good one
Burning like a flame is one of the songs that I am playing at my wedding. It was our "song" back in the day in high school.
Don Dokken was a phenomenal singer back in the day. You should check out "Kiss of Death" , "Lightning Strikes", "Seven Thunders", or "Paris is Burning"...the vocals and riffs are amazing. Another band you haven't touched in a while is Great White. Please do some more Great White. I recommend "Mista Bone", "Heartbreaker", and my absolute favorite "Save All Your Love". BTW, Happy Birthday, J...fellow Taurean. Mine is coming up soon.
..... ????
Heaven Sent is a great Dokken power ballad with an amazing guitar solo.
One of their heaviest songs, with a great, heavy riff! Love it!
Gotta do Alone Again from Dokken. Thanks for reacting. Happy Birthday!!
I saw their video and rob squad did react to Alone again.
They already did, Walk Away is another fantastic (and very ignored) ballad that they should react to instead!
Heaven sent, breaking the chains
Or even a bit later when reb beach was in the band. Haunted lullaby is a very good song.
Don't Close Your Eyes, When Heaven Comes Down, Lightning Strikes Again, Lost Behind the Wall, It's Almost Over, Empire to name a few! The band has many great albums to this day still one of my favorite bands.
It’s not love, into the fire, just got lucky, heaven sent, breaking the chains, and unchain the night are all great Dokken songs.
Heaven sent has the best guitar solo.
They've done It's Not Love. Go check it out.
I think that they'd already reacted to "It's Not Love"
Back for the Attack was a KILLER album.
My all time fav album. Not a bad track on it.
Don Dokken on vocal, Mick Brown on drums, Jeff Pilson on Bass and one of the greatest, legendary guitarists ever..Mr. George Lynch. Dokken was one of the greatest bands in the 80's, and their music is still relevant today. This is one of their best songs, and it came off the best Nightmare on Elm Street movies Dream Warriors. Great reaction!
Don Dokken lead singer, George Lynch lead guitar, other great songs by Dokken, Turn on the Action, Heaven-sent, Tooth and nail, Just got lucky, The Hunter, Jaded Heart, so many more
There are currently 9 Freddy films.
A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984).
A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985).
A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987).
A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988).
A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989).
Freddy's Dead The Final Nightmare (1991).
Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994).
Freddy Vs. Jason (2003).
All the above with Robert Englund as Freddy, and there was a T.V. anthology series in the late 1980's with Robert Englund called Freddy's Nightmares. Then they made a remake in 2010.
A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010).
That is literally the theme song for the third NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET film (the sequels are incredible). The lead singer is DON DOKKEN (his name is the band name) and George Lynch on lead guitar.
Now you MUST check out the song "Love Kills" by VINNIE VINCENT INVASION ... from NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4. I know you like SLAUGHTER, Mark Slaughter may or may not make an appearance on that track 😁
Could be my fave hair-metal song of all time.
Don Dokken (vocals) had been in the L.A. scene since the 70's... he formed Dokken in the early 80's and helped raise the profile of the L.A. rock metal bands like Motley Crue, Ratt, Armored Saint, etc. The band was w/ George Lynch (guitar), Mick Brown (drums) and Jeff Pilson (bass)...originally, Ratt bassist Juan Croucier was in Dokken and recorded their debut album 'Breaking the chains'.
Despite their platinum success by 1984/ '85, they were marketed like a glam rock band and there was tension between Don Dokken and George Lynch over creative control over the band... After 4 studio albums and 1 stellar live album, Dokken split acrimoniously in 1988...
Don Dokken released a solo album 'Up from the ashes' in 1990... Jeff Pilson joined Dio for a while... George Lynch and Mick Brown formed Lynch Mob and released 2 albums.
Finally, the classic Dokken reunited in 1994 and released the album 'Dysfunctional' in the 90's grunge era... but the same issues between Don & George led to the guitarist leaving by 1998... Don Dokken has carried Dokken forward, even after both Pilson & Brown left the band.
Happy Birthday Jay, The Beatles’ “Birthday” was the song to play today
And it would have probably been instantly taken down. The Beatles are notorious YT channel strikers. It's such a short song it wouldn't be worth the time to film, edit, and then go through the head ache of trying to get it up on the channel.
Holy Schnikies! I can't believe you got to this one! AWESOME SAUCE! This was on the soundtrack (and in the movie) to Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors, which is a great movie. In fact, since you saw the original, you can actually skip NOES Part 2, because it had nothing to do with the story of Nancy, but Part 3 does and it's pretty cool. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAY!!!
I just came here to say that... skip Part 2. LOL
Nightmare on Elm Street 3, is where this song is song
Track. Don Dokken is the singer
The guitar is Mr Scary. Check In My Dreams,Burnin Like A Flame, Lost Behind the Wall, Heaven Sent,Unchain the Night, It's Not Love, The Hunter, Kiss of Death I could keep going. Very underrated band!
Another song from a slasher movie is Alice cooper’s “he’s back (the man behind the mask)” from Friday the 13th part VI
and both songs have a permanent place on my halloween mix 😄
Saw an interview with Lynch where he said he doesn’t remember making this video, was REALLY strung out and on coke when making it. And boy does he look like it.
He’s still one of my favs of the era, he managed to capture THAT 80’s guitar tone, I chased that tone for a long time.
he also said he could barely break through that wall for the part where his solo starts. But damn, could he ever play!
The album this comes from is epic front to back. "Heaven Sent" is probably my favorite Dokken song. Also, gotta get back to Femme Fatale sometime and do "Waiting for the Big One". :)
When the movie went to video, (back when we had video rental stores) this music video was added to the end. And that is how I discovered Dokken. 🤣
The actress in the video is Patricia Arquette. I liked her in Medium. Ohh there is a making of where Don and Jeff and telling Robert (Freddy) to go to the liquor store in full on Freddy makeup. LOL
Without Warning / Tooth and Nail must be heard together as well as Turm On the Action
In My Dreams and Alone Again need to be added soon✌️❤️ hair metal... Happy birthday, J!
Broooooooooooo! Robert Englund is why I love Horror the way I do. I was 10 when Nightmare on Elm Street hit in 1984 I watched it in the middle of the night and I didn’t sleep right for weeks. But from that day on all I wanted to watch was horror. This song is from the BEST of the series and Dokken had multiple songs on the soundtrack for Dream Warriors. My dream is to one day get to meet Robert Englund. He’s been such a huge part of my life! Welcome to prime time b!tch! One of the best lines of the whole movie!
Yes! More Rokkin with Dokken! Happy Birthday Jay!
Huge nightmare on Elm Street fan and when part 3 came out and this song was on MTV it was awesome. Great song! And happy birthday!
Actress Patricia Arquette in 'Nightmare on elm Street III'... w/ Robert Englund as 'Freddie Kruger'... Some of the most surreal nightmare scenes put on film for 1987.
Dokken said they had good memories making that music video.
Saw these guys so many times live, had amazing shows even without the stage props they’d outperform groups they’d open for
You gotta do Tooth and Nail with the seamless into called "Without Warning" it's meant to be the intro for "Tooth and Nail". Jay you are gonna rock fiercely to this!!!!!
It kicks off their first album in a big way.
Dokken's guitarist George Lynch formed a band in 2014 called KXM (with Dug Pinnick of King's X, and Ray Luzier of Korn). They recorded some amazing songs. You REALLY need to check them out (along with some of the early songs from King's X).
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAY!🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂I’m honored to be one of your very first “50” subscribers. As soon as I saw the look on your face, the day you watched “ ACDC-THUNDERSTRUCK” for very first time. And very first reaction. I hit subscribe!! Because that’s EXACTLY how I felt in 1980 when I was 9 and heard them for very first time. Fell in love with ANGUS YOUNG same day!!
The ending of this music video always cracks me up lol happy bday jay
Guitar player is George Lynch he has his own band called Lynch Mob you should try checking them out.
Yes Friends!
Thanks for getting back to my favourite Metal Band! ❤A Happy Birthday Jay❤
"Rockin with Dokken!! What more do you want." -Stephen Pearcy That greatest band to ever walk the planet.
I saw Dokken in concert back in 1990. They opened up for Aerosmith. AWESOME CONCERT!!!!!!
Congratulations to Jordan!! And also congratulations to the channel. I love the new series with the creators. It looks like you enjoyed recording them. All your time and efforts are worth it!
Omg I just transported back in time 😮❤
1... 2... Freddy's comin for you...
Don dokken was one of my fave singers back then. I loved all of their songs, they have so many good ones.
The grin on Mick's face when he's drumming inside the boiler cracks me up every time. Dokken fan since the mid 80s
Donny Dokken was one of my favorite singers of all time back in the day. Sadly, he's not longer able to produce the range and tone that he had... but I'm thankful to him for pumping out so many gems over the years. If you want a treat, look up 'We are Stars'. It's the metal equivalent of 'We are the World' to support Hear N Aid, put together by Ronnie James Dio. Donny was one of the vocalists involved along with several other rock Gods and a dozen quitarists shared the solo. You guys will love it.
Alone Agan, just walk away, into the fire are some more greats from this band. I used lock myself in my room and practice hitting those high notes. Don Dokken and George Lynch are truly one of the great vocal guitar duos of all time. Happy birthday Jay!
This was the theme song for the third "A Nightmare on Elm Street" movie, featuring the supernatural serial killer Freddy Krueger and the teenage "dream warriors" who faced him down. You can see scenes from the movie interspersed throughout the music video.
There is a total of 9 Nightmare on Elm street films for you to watch this song is from (Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors)
Aahhhh, one regret in my life is that I was standing about 5 feet behind Don Dokken at a concert many years ago and was too chicken to say hello and get an autograph. 🤦♀️ You can’t go wrong with Dokken!
For vocals and guitar, please, if you’d like and are able, listen to What Love Can Be by Kingdom Come! The vocals are like butter. 🥰 Happy birthday Jay! 🎉
Happy Birthday!!! I watch hall daily and I really enjoyed the artists joining you. There are some kickass Dokken ones in “It’s NOt Love” and “Just Got Lucky”
Happy Birthday!!! Don Dokken is the singer. The signature sound of the band though was George Lynch's guitar. He was one of the big 3 guitarists in the L.A. Rock scene during the late 70s, along with Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen.
If you're "of a certain age" and still remember VCR players 😉, this music video preceded and introduced the film Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, on the VHS release.
Oh you totally ain't old Jay. Happy birthday. And what a great song to do on your birthday too I love dream warriors! This happens to be my favorite song by Dokken
Happy Birthday Jay! 🎂 A couple of other Dokken songs to check out are: "In My Dreams" and "Into The Fire"!
Alone again is a killer power ballad
Don Dokken is lead, George Lynch Guitar, Wild Mick Brown on Drums, Jeff Pilson on Bass
Patricia Arquet was the actress in the video and in Nightmare on Elm Street 3, She's done a lot of great movie. Her Brother David was Dewey in Scream, her sister Rosanna was the wife of the red haired guy in Pulp fiction, Eric Stoltz that gave John Travolta the crazy drugs, her "sister" Alexis was George in the Wedding Singer.
Alexis was also the guy that tried and failed to shoot Jules and Vincent in the apartment!
Saw DOKKEN live less than a year ago. Lead singer has long gray hair, but he can still hit those high notes.
I can't remember the last time I clicked on one of your videos so fast. And yes, this is from A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. That was Robert Englund and Patricia Arquette reprising their roles and reenacting scenes from the movie. Btw, Happy Birthday Jay
Yeah, this is essentially the title track for the soundtrack of this movie. BTW, the woman in the video is Patricia Arquette. She was also in the movie "Stigmata" and had a TV show called "Medium" where she portrayed a real life medium. This song also appears on the 4th Dokken studio album, "Back for the Attack." I think it's between this album and their third studio offering, "Under Lock and Key" as being their best albums. You commented on Don's voice. He was greatly influenced by Klaus Meine, the lead singer of the Scorpions. You can hear it in his somewhat nasaly tone. This is a band that should have been bigger than they were. But they had some internal problems they never seemed to be able to move past. Killer band with killer songs.
Happy Belated Birthday, man! Not only is this a really good movie but it's also the
perfect video for you! 🍰🍰
Hey Jay, in reference to George Lynch's guitar, that he'd used in this video, George had since donated that guitar to the Hard Rock Cafe (in Los Vegas, if I remember correctly), basically stating that the guitar was warped and that it sounded terrible
Also, the full lineup of Dokken is as follows:
George Lynch - Guitar
Jeff Pilson - Bass
Mick Brown - Drums
Don Dokken - Lead Vocals
Happy Birthday...🎂🎂One of my fav Dokken songs and Freddy movies. Thanx so much, Peace
This song was on MTV's "Dial MTV" and hit the top 10 most requested every day for months in early 1987. This was during the time when Living On A Prayer was on that same top 10, along with Madonna "Open Your Heart To Me", Stryper "Free". Genesis "Land Of Confusion". Beastie Boys "Fight For Your Right To Party", Europe "The Final Countdown".
Happy Birthday, J! Dokken was 1 of the Biggest hair bands of the mid 80s and early 90s. Don Dokken now sings in a lower register, he can't hit those high notes anymore. George Lynch is still 1 of The Baddest Guitarist on the Planet!🤘🏽
One of the songs that tripped me down the 80s glam/hair metal rabbit hole way back when. Still holds up, what a banger
Thanks for getting back to
Rokken With Dokken!!!
🤟🤟🤟
You guys are off to a great start with some of their most popular songs!!!
Jay, keep going, you’re going to fall in love with this band.
Some other essentials you should hear:
IN MY DREAMS - Voted Best Guitar Solo in 1986 in one of the guitar player magazines. Great Track.
JUST GOT LUCKY
THE HUNTER
TOOTH & NAIL - Jay on the last dock and reaction you guys did, you said you wanted some heavy Dokken. This is the song you’re were looking for.
KISS OF DEATH
MR. SCARY (instrumental; you’re not ready for this yet. 😁🤷🏻♂️
Once you’re done with the essentials, will give you some phenomenal deep tracks.
Thanks for doing what you do you put a smile on my face at least once a day .
Loved Dokken back in the day. Seen them live 9 times in the 80's and a few more later.
Wishing you a fun birthday, Jordan! May the next year be filled with joy-filled music, family love and smiles! :o)
The hunter,in my dreams, breaking the chains you just got lucky, kiss of death, heaven sent, lightning stikes again, burning like a flame, tooth and nail are dokken songs I love!!
I grew up watching a lot of these eighties bands on MTV so this is a callback to my childhood when you react to these guys. Two I would suggest for some point in the future for you to go back to. One: Tesla-Modern Day Cowboy. It is one of the most well crafted and put together rock songs ever composed in my opinion. 2nd: Night Ranger. As far as I can recall "Sister Christian" is the only song of there's you've done and they have a whole catalogue of great music. Hope you had a great b-day Jay, hope you guys and your fam are living well, keep making us smile. Peace.
ROB SQUAD, once again you guys are in my 80s hair band wheelhouse!!
In 1985 or 86 I got the pleasure of attending a Monsters of Rock concert down in Miami Florida!! The lineup was Metallica, Dokken, the Scorpions, Van Halen, and Kingdom Come, who I don't think you guys have reacted to yet!! How's THAT for a lineup!!!????
Dokken had to either pause their set or cut it short because a HUGE thunderstorm rolled in when they were on stage!!😮😮
Guitarist George Lynch / Don Dokken played at Apache Casino down I35 a couple months ago. I got some killer video that night as I as right in front of him. He has been one of my favorite guitarist since the 80's
Hey! Happy birthday Jay! May you have many more!
Heaven sent, Unchain the Night, Breaking the Chains, Into the Fire, The Hunter, You just got Lucky, Burning like a Flame, In my Dreams. All bangers by Dokken
Thank you for the reaction... great song. One of my favorites by Dokken is a ballad called "Alone Again". I'd love to see you listen to that one.
Have a Happy Birthday! Sorry I'm a day late.
Very polished hair band of the 80's. Can't beat the high pitched singing, great era.
Rock'n with Dokken!!! There are so many songs that you need to listen to. My favorites are Alone Again, The Hunter and Jaded Heart. 🤟
Lol anything from the B side of "Under Lock and Key" just plain rocks, Dokken was awesome live back in the day!
Georges' guitar is named Mr. Scary. George is a Bad Ass Guitarist. I remember this video came out it came out around the same time that Nighymare on Elm Street came out. Epic times in the 80's
Happy Birthday! Dokken rocks!
Happy Birthday, Jay!! 🎂
Happy Birthday J! You guys should really do some KXM! It's Ray Luzier (drums) from Korn, Dug Pinnick (bass and vocals) from Kings X, George Lynch (guitars) from Dokken and Lynch Mob.
I know you would love them! Unfortunately, Don Dokken's voice has not held up over time.
It's a shame. The Voice is the most fragile musical instrument, and very few can maintain it over many decades. Did and even Bruce Dickenson are rarities. Sadly, Don Dokken (and Axel) are more the rule than the exception. It's just a shame how bad Don's voice is now. Couldn't bring myself to see them when they came to my city a couple of summers back. I didn't want the hollow husk of Don with his voice, a shell of its former glory to ruin the memories.
Don Dokken has crazy range for sure. Check out Walk Away and Alone Again.
Happy birthday Jay!!!!!
Ahh yes, Rokken with Dokken!
Fun fact about the guitar in this video.
I saw George Lynch live in his band Lynch Mob(yall need to check them out!) And he used this guitar as well as his a couple of his other signature guitars..After the show me and a buddy of mine snuck over to the side of the stage where his roadie was putting away his equipment, and we got to see this guitar and also his original trademark tiger stripe guitar up close. Also met George in the meet and greet and got an autograph and photo! such a cool down to earth guy.. I also heard Don Dokken is pretty cool too.. also Mick and Jeff..
George Lynch, aka Mr Scary: GOAT guitarist.
Happy Birthday Brother!!!! This song was on Nightmare On Elm.Street!!!!
Happy Birthday, great as always
You share a birthday with my son. Happy birthday, young man. I can call you young I'm in my 60's. Lol
George Lynch (lead guitarist) was probably one of the few underrated guitar players of that era. for those who didn't know of him of course
The guitar is called Mr. Scary. You can find them online if you want to add it to the collection. The guitarist is George Lynch. Look him up and find several cool guitars.
You two do an outstanding job on reaction videos with great picks!! Keep up the GREAT work!! And Happy Birthday Jay!
Had mine the other day, I'm 53 an still rock n with Dokken.
Don Dokken is the singer for the band. George Lynch and his guitar, Mr. Scary, (yes, his guitar has a name), bassist Jeff Pilson, and Mick Brown round out the band. Also, check out "Burning Like a Flame". Banger!
Happy Birthday!
