Geoff Tate has one of the most incredible ranges in Rock n Roll history. This song is near the end of Operation: Mindcrime. Us members of the RSR family know you guys get tons of suggestions in all genres, ‘ you’re busy as can be, but if you ever get the chance to listen to the entire album in one sitting, it’s absolutely amazing. One minor critique, when you mentioned that Geoff Tate had an 80’s ‘pop sound’ to his voice, I instantly got chest pains! This guy is an Operatically trained vocal master. True 5 octave, and he can hit that E5 note with ease, going back down to baritone… If you thought this song was great, and it is, Take Hold of the Flame Live from Tokyo will blow you away.

@@ruthalvarado7086 I suggested that they check out Take Hold of the Flame live from Tokyo when they first started doing reaction videos. Saying Geoff Tate sounds pop is like saying Dolly Parton is metal.
"Is There Anybody Listening" is amazing .... and then "Silent Lucidity" is just gorgeous. On the topic of this latter song, I once read a viewer's comment that he would play it often for his severely handicapped son before bed, and they would snuggle and listen to it together. As the song is about lucid dreaming, he said "I love knowing that when my boy is sleeping, he can be ANYONE and ANYTHING he wants to be .... and his physical and mental chains no longer bind him in that world." Brought me to tears, and gave that song a whole new meaning! Enjoy!
I took care of a 63 year old lady 24/7 for 4 years who suffered from Kugelberg-Welander Spinal Muscular Atrophy. She only had muscle control of her right hand & couldn't even expand her ribs to breathe. Silent Lucidity WAS HER SONG & Take Hold of the Flame was her life. She loved this group & Geoff Tate like no other. She wasn't supposed to live beyond the age of 13 but she beat the odds by 50 years surviving to 63. Please give a reaction to those songs and you'll see why they had such an impact on the most crippled yet unlimited person I ever met. I'm SO glad you opened the door for Queensryche. I'm one of those that's been recommending them for years lol ... their music has more depth and meaning than you might realize so don't be afraid to look up the lyrics. You guys ROCK (literally lol)
Is there anybody listening? Is a very underappreciated and under rated track, but in my opinion one of their absolute BESTS!!it has deep and meaningful lyrics, but still brings the rock.extremely awesome song!!also Silent Lucidity is a great ballad by them.intricate and hauntingly beautiful acoustic guitar and fantastic vocals from Geoff!! PLEASE check BOTH these songs out by them!!!you will appreciate and like them,I swear you won't be disappointed!!🙂thanks for your great reactions!!✌
"I used to trust the media to tell us the truth. That was the truth. But now I've seen the payoffs everywhere I look. Who do you trust when everyone's a crook?" This whole album seems like it could have been written about the current situation we're in today. 😢
To an extent, if it's interpreted appropriately. Important to remember that the lyrics are largely from Nikki's point of view - and he's a heroin addict with a particularly skewed version of 1980's America - the record to a large extent is a huge repudiation of rise of Reagonomics, Corporations valued over individuals and the televangelist rise as "conservatism" largely gripped the the country economically and socially. Leading to what Nikki views as massive hypocrisy, corruption, and income inequality creating haves and have nots - "....seven years of power, the corporation claw, the rich control the government, the media, the law....." When the lyrics were written, we were deep into the second term of the Reagan administration and about to start another 4 years with Reagan's VP as President. The most influential journalists, whether in newspapers, or on television, were largely seen as defenders of Reagan more than anything....so the part you're quoting has been misappropriated by some - I've seen it all over Twitter - to assume Queensyrche was highlighting "Fake news." Probably also worth pointing out that Geoff Tate is really a believer in democratic socialism - essentially has the same beliefs as Senator Bernie Sanders, and it's likely Nikki's point of view of the world stems from Geoff in that vein.
This song is the last track of the album. The album is called Operation Mind Crime. Start at the beginning and pay attention to all the voices on the PA and in between the songs. It will give you a whole different outlook on the songs. Very dark but awesome al um. Like a cautionary tale in life.
Religion and sex are a power play, manipulate the people for the money they pay. Selling skin, selling God. The numbers are the same on the credit card.
Its awesome! And if you're doing QR live, might as well check out their acoustic versions of The Killing Words and The Lady Wore Black (and I guess Silent Lucidity as well. Acoustic!)
No one can belt like Geoff! He has such good tone and clarity. He doesn't scream the notes, but actually sings them -- but with maximum power! Also thanks for giving a thoughtful reaction. I really enjoyed your take on this song. One of my favorites.
Got to listen to Queensryche “Take hold of the flame” live in Tokyo. Geoff Tate cranks it up to an E5. You won’t believe they’re playing live. It seriously is just that good
F1-A5 was the Geoff Tate vocal range until 1991. now he can at 63 year old reach E5. three songs to watch his range: The Thin Line (F1), Roads to Madness (G5) and Blinded (A5 x 3).
As someone with unfettered access to them to at one time, the album is question - is def their best. I have pix of them later on individually and as a group...BEST ALBUM EVER>
Finally! I have been requesting EYES of a Stranger, Jet City Woman, and Take Hold of the Flame for so long. I knew they would react the way they did. The band is EPIC and Geoff has one of the best voices ever across all genre. He is legendary.
Awesome song. Unfortunately it throws new people off a bit because it's the last song on a concept album where each song tells a piece of the overarching story. The entire Operation Mindcrime album is amazing.
This is the first song I ever heard from Queensryche. Bought Operation: Mindcrime the next day. Got them all as a teenager. That's Geoff Tate on lead vocals. Michael Wilton, and Chris DeGarmo are the guitarists, Eddie Jackson is on bass and Scott Rockenfeld is the drummer. This is the final track on their epic prog metal Masterpiece. I'd suggest listening to the whole album, as it tells the story that is so apt even today.
The lead singer, Geoff Tate's voice is so crisp, clean and beautiful! This album, Operation Mind Crime, is their rock opera project. You should react to 'Jet City Woman', 'Empire' and 'Silent Lucidity'. Queensryche is a group that never disappoints!
Operation Mindcrime is absolutely, bar none, pure fire. Its a concept album. This is "The Floyd" of Metal! One of my all time favorite whole albums. I so remember when this dropped. Not the best song on the album by far, but off the hook nonetheless.
Wow, you guys actually did Queensryche and it wasn’t one of the two songs every other reactor does? I’m so impressed! And happy! I love this band and I wish more reactors would dive into them past just one song. I’m sure someone else has told you but just in case, this song is from a concept album (Operation: Mindcrime) that they made an entire long video/movie for, which is what the scenes are from. This song is the last on the album and ends the story, which is an emotional rollercoaster. I’d love to see you do something else from this album! Having said all that, I really do think you’d fall in love with Silent Lucidity, which is off their next album. Very different style, but it’s a masterpiece of a song that evokes so much peace.
14 years later and I still love Queensryche for kicking complete Arse Live and caring enough to come to a combat zone (Joint Base Balad, Iraq) and remind us of home and those we're fighting for and love--Thank you so much!
@@laudanum669 Jay and Amber are 2 of the most positive people in the world. I'd rather not descend into bad responses. Instead of making negative comments, why don't you give me a couple of examples of songs in this same genre that you think they should listen to? I'd much rather you blow my mind with some amazing song choice. I thank you, I appreciate you and you are blessed. Words to live by.
@@laudanum669 Music is subjective. The beauty of it is when someone who thinks a song is a masterpiece, another may not. Gus isn't wrong yet neither are you. I myself feel that Silent Lucidity is a very well written song with a deep meaning behind it. Chris DeGarmo (lead guitarist) was the man behind 85% of the bands success as he was the principal songwriter of the group and I firmly believe, he wrote some amazing music.
This song is from Queensrÿche's "Operation: Mindcrime" album which is a concept album with an overarching story complete with good, evil, and conflicted characters, a deep plot, brief dialogue and/or sound fx transitions between songs, and a solid tracklist from beginning to end. It's super theatrical (and the tour for the album was staged with lots of theatrical elements) which is a fact that Amber, in particular, might find interesting (being a theater person, as she mentions sometimes). It's something you don't see a lot with bands. As for the singer, that's Geoff Tate, one of THE voices in metal. You mentioned hearing a bit of an 80s pop sound in his voice. I can hear where you might get that in his lower vocals but, overall, I actually think he's got a lot of Judas Priest, Dio, and Iron Maiden in his vocals. It's that strong, high, slightly theatrical "power metal" sound with the heavy vibrato. Whatever it is, dude's a beast. For another Queensrÿche song to react to, I think Amber would really love "Silent Lucidity." It's a sweet and eerie ballad about lucid dreaming and you get a LOT of his deeper voice on that one. For another rocker, "Empire" is a great one or, from the same album as "Eyes of a Stranger," you might really like "I Don't Believe In Love." I'm onboard with whatever bands y'all listen to - there's a ton of great music out there - but do yourself a favor and don't sleep on Queensrÿche. They're one of those unique, super smart, and super deep bands that makes more than just party music or poseur music (which can't be said for all metal bands). These guys are beloved for a reason.
Geoff Tate is an amazing singer; the entire band is great! One of their big hits from the 80s is called "Take Hold of the Flame." I highly recommend you watch the live version shot in Japan! You get to see more of his singing range
This is part of a concept album that tells the story of a guy who wakes up in a mental institution after killing a priest. It's extremely well done, great music from beginning to end. Operation Mindcrime is one of my 10 deserted island albums. YOu mentioned the drummer. I actually met him nce in a bar the night before they played here in 91. Super nice guy, down to earth. We had a good conversation, just chilling over a drink. I saw them open for kiss in 85, and again in 91 when they played Operation Mindcrme from beginning to end live. Awesome show! Geoff Tate can sing!
Scott Rockenfield. Punishes those skins in perfect syncopation, and then can lighten it up with a paradiddle on a slightly open high hat. Masterful drummer especially within the context of what the band was doing.

Welcome to the experience that is Queensryche! This is actually the tune that got me into their music. You MUST check out their song "Take Hold of the Flame" from their Live in Tokyo 1984. They're hitting on all cylinders at that point. They have so many great songs. Their biggest hit was "Silent Lucidity," and the album from which it came was "Empire." A lot of good stuff on that album, as well as "Operation: Mindcrime," which is where the song you just reacted to came from. Amber...check out their song "Someone Else." Just Geoff Tate and a piano...wow!!
I was literally just thinking it was time for some Queensryche and bang, there y'all are. Now how about a little Faith No More … Epic. It will blow your minds.
I'm so glad you discovered Queensryche. Please be amazed by “Take Hold Of The Flame” - Live in Tokyo - 1984. It's live before the days of autotune and processing was limited. You WILL be blown away!
Operation: Mindcrime is a concept album that tells a story from start to finish and Eyes of a Stranger is the phenomenal culmination of that story. It is a tale that can be difficult to "get" just jumping in at the end but you guys caught as much as can reasonably be expected which is nice. Just a great album, it'd be really tough to give it too much praise. Thrilled you guys liked the finale!
This song is towards the end of the concept album, "Operation: Mindcrime". It is truly a phenomenal album from beginning to end, and well worth checking out in a single setting.
This song is part of a pretty good story about 'a hitman for the underground'. bare minimum you should find the lyrics for the whole album and read them but if you like this song definitely check it out. It's called 'Operation Mind Crime'.
Everyone get so caught up in Geoff's singing (and rightfully so) that you sometimes miss how good the guitars are on this song. Some of my favorite guitar work ever. Just goes from start to finish.
Can you believe that the Lead singer Jeff Tate sang live on stage with both Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden and Rob Helford of Judas Priest. Well, the 3 of them have and it was amazing.
The true coming of age of every reaction channel is when they react to Queensryche's Take Hold Of The Flame live in Tokyo 1984. Even the vocal coach reactors are amazed that Geoff Tate, being a natural baritone, can hit an E-5 (a VERY high note). If you love hard rock vocal mastery, please react to Take Hold Of The Flame, the live in Tokyo 1984 version.
I love you guys! The singer is Geoff Tate, and, yes, the dude is incredible - seen them live a couple times too, and it's not just a studio thing - as great live as on tape. This song hits harder when you listen to the whole album up to it. This is the culmination of the whole storyline of the album. I usually don't go for concept albums much, but this album reaches in and grabs my heart every single time, even after hundreds of listens over the years. I absolutely recommend listening to it in its entirety in one sitting - it's like watching a movie. If you're looking for some cool stand-alone Queensryche tracks too - Walk in the Shadows has one of the most powerful choruses I've ever heard. The Thin Line is a great one that is under-played imho. Anyway, I love that you guys keep it positive! Enjoying music is what it's all about - thanks for the vibe boost today!
You OWE IT to yourselves to sit and listen to this entire album from beginning to end. It is one of the all time greatest concept albums ever. Pure perfection with Queensryche at the top of their game!! Every track is amazing.
You made my day! This is my all-time favorite album. Backstory: This album is called a concept album. It tells a story from one song to the next much like Pink Floyd's The Wall album. There style is called progressive rock and the singer's name is Geoff Tate. I went to see them in concert back in '89 at the Reunion Arena in Dallas. Metallica opened for them....er...Queensryche opened for Metallica, but I went to go see Queensryche. Outstanding!
The music video truncates the album version of this song, which is the last song on the "Operation Mindcrime" album. The album tells the story of a wannabe revolutionary who eventually becomes disillusioned with the cause. Queensryche "Take Hold of the Flame" live from Tokyo is a classic performance with Geoff Tate the lead vocalist at his peak.
Geoff Tate's voice, in my opinion is one of the clearest, cleanest, strongest in all of rock history. His articulation is unbelievable. When you can understand every word, even when he is screaming....just wow!
😊 Geoff Tate has a 6- octave range. Corey Taylor (Slipknot) has an 8 octave. But...I have always liked Geoff better simply because I can understand him. I played this CD when it first came out until my friends forbade me to they were soon sick of it.😂 Listen to the songs radio didn't play. The Lady Wore Black, anything from Rage for Order etc.
Queensryche has always been one of my favorite bands. The music is awesome and Geoff Tate was said to have one of the most powerful voices in Heavy Metal. Please react to the love version of "Take Hold Of The Flame". His vocals are amazing!!!
This song is part of a concept album or "rock opera" called "Operation Mindcrime" that tells an entire story from beginning to end. If you all ever start review full length films, I highly recommend checking out Queensryche's concert video "Operation Livecrime" where they perform the entire album front to back. The back of the stage is giant video screens where they had filmed a movie of sorts to show the story as they're performing. This video includes some of the footage from that concert tour. I've been to around 100 concerts in my lifetime and it's still one of the best ever. And for once, the home video version does a pretty good job of capturing the feel of the live show. Even if you don't react to it for your channel, it's still worth checking out.
Last song from Operation Mindcrime. A concept album. Each song telling a piece of the whole story. This album is just perfect. I think you two should sit down and react to each song. And after you're done with that, you check out "Lady Wore Black", Queen of the Reich", "Take Hold of the Flame", "Best I Can"
Geoff is trained in opera. His voice is IMPECCABLE! He has so much depth, range is insane, he hits notes with such ease, he doesn't need to build up to a note, he can jump octaves with no effort..... this group is TIGHT! Just simply, THE BEST, THE GOAT!!!!
This is one of the bands I love and basically forgot. That is a really good part of your videos, I go back in time to when I heard these. Thanks for the memories. Your videos always make me feel better afterwards. I love how all the time without looking at each other you are making the same movements, exactly in time. It is like you practice, lol. As a 35+ year fan of Queensrÿche, I say welcome to the fold. What has drawn me to them for years and years is that although Geoff's vocals catch you at first, there are so many other pieces of artistry that grab hold. The unique drumming style, the galloping bassline, the uniqueness of Chris' DeGarmo's guitar sound, the guitar duet. Every member of the band has their own specialty that blends beautifully.

Enjoy!
The first at time I heard "Silent Lucidity" I thought I was listening to Pink Floyd. Not that that's a bad thing....
I have never heard that story about Silent Lucidity but I love it. I have always loved the song.
What a beautiful and touching story- thank you!! No restraints - wow !!
Geoff Tate & Chris DeGarmo were a magical combination. Yet another musical gift from the Seattle area.
Still my all time favorite combo
Yep. And without DeGarmo I lost interest.
Same with Empire!
GEOFF TATE!!
The VOICE of metal!
Chris DeGarmo
Incredible guitarist.
Problem is, ya can't play it loud enough
Remastered versions, no?
I never liked this song and really didn't really like the band that much there's a couple good songs
When I listen to Queensryche so do all of my neighbors.
@@casualguy393 mine called the cops to complain about the noise, the cops arrested them
The entire OMC album is a masterpiece. Right up there with The Wall as far as one of the best rock concept albums ever produced
Absolutely!
One of the best albums ever produced, period!
Amen to that! Love it!
Do the live version of “Take Hold of the Flame”. His vocal range is outstanding.
Its awesome! And if you're doing QR live, might as well check out their acoustic versions of The Killing Words and The Lady Wore Black (and I guess Silent Lucidity as well. Acoustic!)
And Queen of the Ryche from that same concert
His vocals reminded me of a 60 70's band Uriah Heap. Also a great band to dive into.
I agree. Take hold of the flame is almost unbelievable
Yes you need a check the whole album out it's a little rock opera queensryche operation mindcrime
No one can belt like Geoff! He has such good tone and clarity. He doesn't scream the notes, but actually sings them -- but with maximum power!
Also thanks for giving a thoughtful reaction. I really enjoyed your take on this song. One of my favorites.
yannis papadopoulos, samuel nyman, daniel gildenlow, the guy from coheed and cambria, michael eriksen, tommy karevik are the next gen geoff tates.
Queensryce was always so darn powerful!! They Flood the venue with waves , big waves of sound. So thankful for their work.
Others have mentioned it but “take hold of the flame” is the best example of what he can do with his voice
Got to listen to Queensryche “Take hold of the flame” live in Tokyo. Geoff Tate cranks it up to an E5.
You won’t believe they’re playing live. It seriously is just that good
Yes please!!
Yes, that is definitely a song they need to review as well. Their jaws will drop during certain parts of it.
They debut that song after a full set too.
Epic!
I can not like this comment enough. Live...Geoff's full range...early years. PLEASE!!!
F1-A5 was the Geoff Tate vocal range until 1991. now he can at 63 year old reach E5.
three songs to watch his range: The Thin Line (F1), Roads to Madness (G5) and Blinded (A5 x 3).
Try Empire, Jet City Woman or Silent Lucidity, their top 40 hit, by Queensryche. You’ll be pleasantly surprised 🙌🏼
Yes they will...! "Another Rainy Night" also
Three of my favorites.
Been suggesting Silent Lucidity for about 6 months now...
Skip Empire. Not their best.
I feel like they were such an underrated band. Geoff’s voice is just amazing.
Best song from Queensryche. It defines them.
Close second...Take Hold of the Flame Live in Tokyo.
Silent Lucidity.
The lady wore black.. but this whole operation mindcrime album is excellent
Yep, 30+ years and it's still one of my favorites. The whole album is a definite must listen.
Absolutely!
Agreed, but I still play it for peoples first listen and they dig it, wanna get into the album.
Truth. Listening to Eyes of a Stranger without hearing the entire album is like picking up a book and only reading the final chapter.
Their ep and the warning are better
Mindcrime is AMAZING
The lead singer, Geoff Tate's voice is so crisp, clean and beautiful! This album, Operation Mind Crime, is their rock opera project. You should react to 'Jet City Woman', 'Empire' and 'Silent Lucidity'. Queensryche is a group that never disappoints!
Man, if you're going Empire, you gotta include Another Rainy Night in that grouping. Those 3-4 songs just belong together!
Saw Queensryche live.......the band and Geoff Tate kicked major League A$$. Tate's voice is for real. Powerful
This is like hearing the punch line of a joke before hearing the lead in. Listen to the full album. It's a movie that plays out between your ears.
the whole operation mindcrime album from 1988 is a cinematic concept album.
Dude and wife , you are so close to their best track. Try their "Take Hold Of The Flame"! Best metal vocals
The video of this song in Tokyo 1984 gives me chills. Geoff is amazing there.
Operation Mindcrime is absolutely, bar none, pure fire. Its a concept album. This is "The Floyd" of Metal! One of my all time favorite whole albums. I so remember when this dropped. Not the best song on the album by far, but off the hook nonetheless.
I agree. I think I would take it further, add 1 part Pink Floyd, 1 part YES and 1 part Metal, blend together and voilà out pours Queensrÿche.
I couldn’t agree more. Operation Mindcrime is epic. Listen to it from start to finish!!!!
Take Hold of the flame live in Tokyo.
Chris Degarmo and Michael Wilton dueling guitars! Fantastic!
14 years later and I still love Queensryche for kicking complete Arse Live and caring enough to come to a combat zone (Joint Base Balad, Iraq) and remind us of home and those we're fighting for and love--Thank you so much!
He's and operatic singer, one of the best. His range is insane. His name is Geoff Tate. Queen of the Ryche live really shows his talent.
"Take Hold of the Flame" Live in Tokyo is the next one you should do.
In my opinion "Silent Lucidity" is a masterpiece. Another great song with beautiful acoustic guitar is Extreme "More Than Words"
Both those songs suck.
The Lady Wore Black is way before all of this
Take Hold Of The Flame is so underrated from them. WATCH this performance and tell me I'm wrong.
ua-cam.com/video/xk84dVq644k/v-deo.html
Geoff Tate is without a doubt one of the best vocalist of all time. Control, amazing range, power, and precision.
I have to say Operation Mindcrime is one of those Albums you can listen to the whole thing, In fact, I have a lot of Queensryche (Very Big Fan).
Amber will love "Silent Lucidity". They also cover a Canadian singer/song writer Del Bello.
If you watch it you really need to see their unplugged version. It's amazing
Yes!!!! The gotta react to “Gonna Get Close to You” 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
A classic concept album! You have to listen to the whole album to get the storyline 🤘🏽🤘🏽Della Brown next please!!!!
For another rocker, "Empire" is a great one or, from the same album as "Eyes of a Stranger," you might really like "I Don't Believe In Love."
I'm onboard with whatever bands y'all listen to - there's a ton of great music out there - but do yourself a favor and don't sleep on Queensrÿche. They're one of those unique, super smart, and super deep bands that makes more than just party music or poseur music (which can't be said for all metal bands). These guys are beloved for a reason.
^^^^^^^^^
Their studio version of "Silent Lucidity" is gorgeous... my all-time favorite of their songs.
Geoff Tate is an amazing singer; the entire band is great! One of their big hits from the 80s is called "Take Hold of the Flame." I highly recommend you watch the live version shot in Japan! You get to see more of his singing range
This is the way
Jet City Woman, Silent Lucidity, Another Rainy Night are awesome too
This is part of a concept album that tells the story of a guy who wakes up in a mental institution after killing a priest.
My favorite Queensryche tune will always be "The Lady Wore Black."
An excellent choice for sure!
Album or acoustic version!?
@@TedBrogan I've yet to hear the acoustic, but I have loved the album version since the first time I heard it.
@@KayeWhye Bro... ua-cam.com/video/0k8WIKGY9qg/v-deo.html
And after that you need to hear their Killing Words unplugged version - ua-cam.com/video/4M650_S0V9Y/v-deo.html
If you want to enjoy more Queensryche, I highly recommend “Take Hold of the Flame,” “Silent Lucidity,” “Anybody Listening,” “I Will Remember,”’ or “The Lady Wore Black.”
Woooooo!!!! I love this band so much, and kinda like Rush, they have dedicated fans but we’re hard to find in the wild! ❤❤❤❤❤
There are no words to describe Queensryche they are beyond comparison ❤to you both from Australia
Omg! Finally my favorite band!!! 😍🎸🎶
Geoff Tate is an amazing singer. My favorite Queensrÿche song is "The Lady Wore Black." A real banger...
Next song from them must be Silent Lucidity. It’s magic!!
Yes it definitely is magic ❤️❤️
Queensryche "Take Hold of the Flame" live from Tokyo is a classic performance with Geoff Tate the lead vocalist at his peak.
i lost count how many times i've watched people react to Take Hold of the Flame live version.
P.S, correct me on the ranges if I'm wrong please.
8 octave range 😂😂😂😂
Queensryche has always been one of my favorite bands. The music is awesome and Geoff Tate was said to have one of the most powerful voices in Heavy Metal. Please react to the love version of "Take Hold Of The Flame". His vocals are amazing!!!
To me they sound even better live. They are so so amazing live!!!
Even if you don't react to it for your channel, it's still worth checking out.
take hold of the flame live in tokyo he really displays his amazing vocals
I think it is because you two are bonded at a deeper level of and that is beautiful. I love your energy.
The whole Operation Mindcrime album which this song is on is amazing. It’s a concept album.
The band members:
Geoff Tate-vocals
Guitars- Michael Whilton and Chris DeGarmo (hat)
Drums-Scott Rockenfield
Bass guitar-Eddie Jackson
Wow! You went there! This is what we called Operatic Rock (Opera). They were a great band, but each one of them was in the Top 10 of their field and then their egos took over and broke them up.
Now this is a rock band. Got to do Jet city woman, Silent lucidity, Empire, and Another rainy night. The voice and music is so fantastic
Have you only heard one album?
@@Ilikeryche no but it's my favorite, and it has been awhile since I've listened to any. Operation Mindcrime you kind of got to listen to in its entirety..
@@genebarker3624 Then you'd better listen to "The Warning" album at least. It'll be a treat.
The BEST voice ever...seriously. and the thing is, he sounds amazing live also! He's the real deal
That is Jeff Tate, lead singer, and you should try Silent Lucidity by this band, you will love that more
I saw Geoff in concert in a small theater venue as few years back. He started with “Revolution Calling” and went through the entire Mindcrime album. He brought the energy like it was a stadium show. Amazing voice even now!
I Don't Believe in Love is another great song by them. I love his voice
It would be so interesting to see which one of you two would like their song Silent Lucidity more. It's Queensryche's biggest hit, and it's amazing.
Finally!!!!! I've been waiting for months for you to do some Queensryche! Now you must do Silent Lucidity!!!!
This song is a part of the story that the album Operation:Mindcrime tells. It's good on its own but to get the context, you really need to listen to the entire album from start to finish. This video has a lot of stuff in it from the story.
PREACH! Talk about a musical experience!
Yep…a true concept album.
“Silent Lucidity”, “Anybody Listening?”, “Queen Of The Reich”. Great songs from a criminally underrated band.
“Anybody Listening” is so good!
Part of the beauty of queensryche was both of the guitarist were lead and worked together extremely well , watch the live version of this song from operation livecrime (1991) .
My 2 favorite Queensryche songs are “Jet City Woman” and “Another Rainy Night”.
If you like this song you really have to get the entire album. It's a metal opera and every song is part of the story and every song is amazing.
The vocals, the power, the beauty, the artistry, the composing, the thought provoking lyrics, the amazingly tight, talented band, Queensryche is phenomenal.
This!!! This is from one of the best concept albums (Operation: Mindcrime) ever made. It is a truly theatrical experience. Bravo Jay and Amber!!! Geoff Tate had one of the best vocal ranges in rock music. Him and Ronnie James Dio are two of my favorites.
Scott Rockingfield was the first drummer I saw that hung his cymbals by chains ⛓ AWESOME DRUMMER, SONG, BAND, AND GEOFF TATE’S VOICE IS INCREDIBLE
These guys are so freaking good, saw them in concert with Metallica years ago.
Empire, Jet City Woman, Another Lonely Night, Silent Lucidity, Take Hold Of The Flame...all Quuensryche hits and are must listen to songs
Woot, finally some Queensryche! Now you’ve gotta hear Queensryche “Take Hold of the Flame” 1984 live in Tokyo. It’s a killer song and Geoff Tate’s voice is epic
The whole concept album “Operation Mind Crime” is incredible!!! A rock opera 🤗
This lineup was so tight and each member complimented each other seamlessly.
Entire album and lyrics will change your life. Every song the best one!!!
You have to listen to Queensrÿche's SILENT LUCIDITY, it's an awesome track.
