Did yo learn nothing playing 4? That isn't Kratos anymore, dude just snaps necks and slices there face and somehow these gods die from that when Zeus survives a blade to the gut like wtf is going on
While only knowing about his existence by the Ragnarok Trailer,Mimir is one of the wisest and funniest Characters in the God of War Franchise, like Kratos he's not from this realm and yet he's important to the story and since Ragnarok marks the end of the Norse Series,we could explore Mimir's Realm, but only time will tell.
There is a good chance that Kratos dies at the end of Ragnarok and future God of War games will feature a different protagonist or even multiple protagonists (Loki, Tyr, etc.). And it might not be the end for Norse Mythology, since Odin is expected to survive the Ragnarok.
@@sujimayne nah pretty sure the studio heads have said God of War isn't Gow without Kratos, like Halo isn't Halo without Master Chief. Don't think Kratos is being properly killed off any time soon
I'm so invested in Kratos and Freya, I gives me what could of been vibes with Athena...like Freya really is what Athena was in Olympus...A guide to Kratos at first, made an enemy unintentionally. But I know she'll come around after their fight gets broken up by the Aseir hunting them both or something
I love how he is also Puck Goodfellow, so a faerie... and thus... maybe a Tuatha De Danann? I mean, that would be awesome. Also I love how he got smart and made friends by just boozing with everyone, I can see why this faerie fit in well with this Norse world.
“He tortures me, you know. Every day, brother. Odin himself sees to it personally, and believe me there is no end to his creativity. Every. Single. Day. This… this isn’t living.” That moment was honestly gut-wrenching… I can only imagine how threatening and evil of an antagonist Odin will be O.o
Johnny Cage: "Are you from ChaosRealm?" Mimir: "Of course not. I was from Asgard. It's a long story, really." Sonya Blade: "I think I'll take a body-less God over a Mad one anytime."
Mimir did say, when talking about where he came from, that he was one of a company of "Good Fellows" in King Oberon's company. My Shakespeare loving heart perked up at that, since it means there's a chance Mimir could be 'Puck' in another pantheon, another place. I liked the snark, the suffering, and the zinging one-liners this iteration of Mimir brought to the table. Definitely a lot more interesting than just leaving it at "Odin revived him in the Spring of Knowledge after accidentally beheading him, consulting with Mimir often to seek hidden wisdom."
@@Ninja07Keaton actually that’s only how long Tyrs temple had been underwater, considering the vase of kratos was already under there I think this would imply kratos is a little older than simply 200 years old as he was almost 50 by the events of god of war 3(47 I believe he was)
This is a great video. However, Tyr has never been called odinson as far as I know. It isn’t even hinted that he’s Odin’s child. I think people try to find the parallel Norse relationships with the Greek God of War counterparts ( Ares & Kratos are sons of Zeus so Tyr must be child of Odin) but that’s not true.
So in Norse mythology, Tyr is indeed in fact a child of Odin, whilst it hasnt been said In game their would be no reason to have this not be the case consider how much of it is based off its source material
@@Historybehindthewarrior actually if you dig deep enough it’s heavily implied that tyr and Odin were brothers and Tyr was king of the gods, this is why tyr in the mythology is the one to place his hand in fentrir’s mouth when they are subduing him, him losing his hand essentially makes him unfit to rule anymore according to some ancient old word custom I believe and thus Odin takes over as all father
@Alex Id like to agree but as we’ve seen in the past everything close to Kratos burns in his wake, whether it be directly or indirectly, Kratos destroys. I think Atreus is going to be the only one that gets through with Kratos, Mimir is awesome but I do think it’s going to be an emotional death for him 😥
It would be interesting to see Thor and Odin calling Kratos by his title as the Ghost of Sparta as a way to taunt him since Kratos is going to fight them both in God of War: Ragnarok.
There's only like one source that says Tyr is Odin's son. Hymiskvida has Tyr as son of a Jotun, Hymir . There's a lot of liberties being taken and idk how i feel about it.

it's still sort of upsetting how he exaggerates the Aesir Gods saying they're all creatures I do see I do see where my mimir's coming from. things makes things make much more sense now.
Um, I am a little confused what your sources are for Mimir not being on Norse origin when every source I read clearly puts him as a guardian of the source of wisdom at the roots of Yggdrasil. Is that an ingame lore thing I somehow missed?
I like how each character isn't really a side character, they each play a big part in this story.
Side character = anyone who is not the main protagonist
Did yo learn nothing playing 4? That isn't Kratos anymore, dude just snaps necks and slices there face and somehow these gods die from that when Zeus survives a blade to the gut like wtf is going on
Yeah cause they is only like 6 characters

@@sujimayne there's a good chance you're smoking crack
Mimir is one of the best newest characters in the series .
So basically Odin is a crazy and bad dude that needs to get the Zeus treatment from Kratos
Haha exactly. And this is why they need to do full remakes of GoW 1-3 in the new game style (like the Final Fantasy 7 remake). I would buy them all.
Kratos battlecry "Odin, you will suffer for spoiling Freya to not be a love interest".
More like chaotic neutral.
Absolutely bro, odin really need that zeus treatment hahahah because he ask for it
@@Bonkrefeen No because even if it’s good people will find a way to complain
there is so much lore tied into everything in this game it's crazy, you always learn and notices new things. such a masterpiece
Mimir will shed alot of light on the Celtic gods in a future game.

A great breakdown and I agree he was a joy and wonderful highlight of the game the same as Brok and Scindry are as well
14:39 "Freya's spell on mimir is snapped"
*Immediately cuts to Kratos snapping Baldur's neck*
I'm a sucker for clever edits like those.

Nothing better than another god of war video
Itll be great if in the future games after ragnarok we’ll have Mimir with us and maybe explore his origins and the pantheon he is from

Sonya Blade: "I think I'll take a body-less God over a Mad one anytime."

🤣🤣🤣
Mimir is the best character in all of God of War. And I love Kratos.
Mimir's name when he was serving under Oberon was Puck.
Easy there I’m not trying to cry already today
500 likes. Such a humble man
Another great character analysis.
A little late but I'm here!

How many years have passed in this God of War 4 that Kratos got so old...he should Be in his prime still
It's been 150 years since God of War 3's end. Not that it matters in the case of Kratos, he wouldn't age like a normal human regardless.
Kratos keep getting stronger by getting older
Age makes a god stronger.

I think Thor will be the end boss and Odin is going to be a withered old husk.
Well done
Great vid
Mimir is bodyless rather than headless.
I wonder if Mimir will stay in norse mythology after the next game or if he will follow with kratos on his journeys
He’s probably a goner. I’m certain he’s going to be an emotional death (final death) probably by Odin.
I think otherwise. I think Mimir will go with Kratos.

I have 4 suggestions:
Atlas
Cronos
Apollo
Poseidon
If you think about it freya is becoming a young version of kratos wanting vengeance for her child
I’m surprised mimir didn’t go to the vanir gods since they sound a lot more friendly and awesome

The idea of Odin getting crunk 🤣🤣

I have to learn to let go of the real lore when listening to these
CALLED IT!!!
Well that's One Way to win the Favour of Lord Odin just Get Him Doped Up
Mimir, a character who was decapitated, being called head, worked his way up to being accepted as a brother, and no longer being called head
Am first 🥇 here hallow everyone 👋👋

Thought this was supposed to be about Mimir, not the whole GoW game
Mimir sounds like a fun gent.
🤣🤣🤣
If he's so smart, how come he didnt see the betrayal and beheading coming?
He isnt smart when it comes to imposter sussy betrayals
Mimir is the best gow character
bro i just laughed out loud when i realised Mimir is puck hahaha
I hope mimir follows kratos to Egypt. We all know that where they are going after ragnarok

They obviously change it for the games sake and story, it’s not hard to understand
I think he may be Puck
You should do a video of Thor's hammer I'm short it has a lot of history
Early 💪
From jester to ambassador to lover finally to fanny pack
Today is my birthday and first
do a video god of war game in indian mythology and hindu mythology
First of all mimir is Odins uncle and he might be originated from keltic mythology but the Norse adapted them into there own god
Also Odin did get all knowing knowledge
Do jormungandr after athena
Zeus & Prometheus:Odin and Mimir
💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
So who killed the giants ? Thor or Mimir ?
Thor obviously how do you get that confused
This is wrong if you know Norse mythology mimir stabbed his eye out for that knowledge and so did Odin
It's the games take on Norse mythology so no it's not wrong it's just a different take.
You earn 500 likes you don't ask for them.

I think I'm 5th
why my bf look like God of war lol
