One correction: Magni and Thrud are half-sibling. Modi and Thrud are siblings. All are children of Thor. Magni’s mother was a giantess Jarnsaxa. Sif is the mother of Modi and Thrud. I’m not basing this on actual mythology, but on the GOW universe. Sindri says in GOW 2018 about Magni and Modi “Thor is they’re dad, different moms”. There’s also an enchantment that mention Jarnsaxa.
I had never heard of Thrúd before this game, although I had read/heard about Thor having at least one daughter in addition to Magni and Modi. She reminds me of a younger version of the Amazon OC I created for this game over a decade ago, Aletheia. Her creation was years before this name, meaning 'truth' in the Greek language, was given to the Oracle Kratos failed to save in "Ascension". The Amazons had the strictest, most versatile military training that I knew of, apart from Sparta, and they were the most staunch worshippers of Ares who is credited with their tribe's creation; I won't go into her whole story here, but much like Kratos did with Lysandra and Calliope, Aletheia (while in service to Ares) cut down her twin sister, Urania, and had her ashes affixed to her skin. Kratos and she fought through many trials and battles together, and over time, these fellow cursed mortals (who fought like cats and dogs) became comrades, some time lovers and the only person they would ever trust with each other's true deaths. Since there is no Sigyn in the Norse games, I assigned Aletheia this role as Atreus' "sister in arms" and "sister with the bow"; I did not dare have her take Faye's place, despite knowing Kratos' and her past as lovers. There is a pall of misogyny a mile thick in Asgard, obvious in "Ragnarok" even if most translations of the source materials don't talk about it. She was fully supportive of Thrúd's aspirations to become a woman warrior, although centuries of experience had made her wiser about sensing impossible trials, "catch-22s", set-ups for failure and the like. She knew Thrúd would never achieve her dream with the current leadership... and that being blindly obedient to said leadership was the same as wasting an Amazon's greatest weapon: her mind.
I’ve been waiting for a video of with Thrùd as she is my favorite character (Besides the man cast) And Heimdall that I can say were actual characters that the developers put into putting them together.
Aw HBTH, you shouldn’t have: I’ve been waiting for this “History of” video for the longest. It almost feels like a Christmas gift. Thrud has really left a memorable impression on me.
Has ANYONE else noticed that LauFey, Thor, Atreus, and Thrud are the ONLY characters with RED HAIR in GOW:Ragnarok? I mean Fey has THOUSANDS of reasons to hate Thor. But imagine the Rage she’d have at a DIRECT BLOOD RELATION of hers slaughtering her people? ……..
@History Behind The Warrior you might have to make a remake of History of Freya now that got some new information from God of War Ragnarok or a Freyr one, of course it is up to you what you want to put on your channel
Tbh I think the reason why Thrud was not treated as bad was because she probably was too young for any training or expectations yet. Without her brothers dying she probably would have got the same brutal treatment
Thor and sif truly loved magni modi and thrud so much it must have been a true badass problem with magni and modi thrud but Thor and sif truly loved all there three kids so much and Uncle Boulder Boulder becameing the three kids uncle must have been a shocking to him and the kids themselves since we know Boulder is not that tall
Was Modi Thruds half brother or full brother I’m always wondering about that I knew magni was born from a giantess but I thought Modi was born from Sif!
She and Atreus are more natural as a couple. Angrboda is okay but a bit forced. If Atreus and Thrud have a son, that should be Cu Chulainn (fit into Celtic Myth) as his Warp Spasm is a lot like the Spartan Rage. Maybe after Atreus completes the egyptian Region, he can go back and mate with Thrud. Then go with them to the Celtic Region, Mimir's homeland.
@@Tribrid-zv3nq In Mythology Loki is married Sigyn. Angrboda is his mistress. But they can do their own thing. And In-Universe, Cu Chulainn being a descendant of Kratos and Thor (through Thrud and Atreus) would be epic. And by extension his Grandfather's would be Zeus and Odin.
@@Tribrid-zv3nq Well it falls flat either way because the God of War universe has already gone and done their own things with the Mythology. Being a purist here is a waste of your energy.
@@Tribrid-zv3nq ok broski, you obviously do care if you keep responding and Angrboda is not as good a pair in my opinion. Can you not recognize your hypocrisy? Grow up.
I have a question that no one has answered on UA-cam… here it’s goes .. Are the Norse Gods born with tattoos in the God of War series? Atreus had his tattoos at a very young age but it doesn’t show if he was born with them or did he get the tattoos later I’m sure Kratos wouldn’t let anyone tat his son up
Her potential to become valkryie queen is insane. With mjolnir too. She's gonna be unstoppable.
Thrud was definitely one the best new characters in ragnarok

She really IS a great Character.

Meeting Thrud was how I learned that the Aesir weren't all evil, and they were just all being manipulated by Odin
Great character and I can’t to see more of her in the future.

Thor must be proud of his daughter.
In the bar when she went Into battle Thor was like YEAH!!!!😂😂
She was great as a character especially towards the end of the game and the fact that she now has Thors hammer trust she's gonna be a powerhouse
At least Thrüd still has some family left. Her father, brothers, Grandfather, and most of her uncles are gone.
I really like Thrud, she had such an interesting arc
I wonder if we will see thrud again. Expectations were high from everyone except heimdall😂😂
Thrùd is for one is definitely valkyrie material and a thiccness goddess

I would like to see Thrüd return and possibly play as her wielding mjolnir.
Merry Christmas my friend

I thought she should have been the first god loki fought one vs one even if he didn't want to
I'm confused how are Thor's sons only thrud half brothers? Do they have different mothers ?
Jötunn Járnsaxa is Magni mom while Modi mom is unknown, my guess is that Sif just took Thor's sons as her owns.

Couldn’t watch the video…too many spoilers. Should have been a warning before it started
Thrud is more like an attempt at inclusion
No she isn't -_-
@@Tribrid-zv3nq in what way?

I believe Atreus’ mother gave him the tattoos.
