At 62 I battle texture issues and firmness.Marula oil comes from South Africa and improves our hydration, elasticity and texture of our mature skin. You have to try it to believe. I saw results in 4 weeks. Rule to remember....use your thinnest oils first....if you do use a cream, use it last.

LOL at "keep watching!! "YAY for Acure Marula oil!!! You can't beat the price for the quality and I like that they are a sustainable company w/ fair trade practices that benefit the women's collective in Africa that harvests the oil. Been using it for years and it completely healed my skin when it was highly sensitive and reactive. You are truly looking beautiful and luminous! ...I really loved your thoughts on Love - it's a cliche but true, it "really makes the world go around" for better or worse :-) Happy weekend to you and Cooper! xoxo, Cheryl

I am so glad Cheryl you brought this up...and I should have mentioned it in the video...I had beautiful pictures of the African women harvesting the Marula fruit and at the last minute I took those pictures out of my video...I was fearful I would be flagged for copyright....but it is a huge reason to support the effort....not to mention the documentation of how effective Marula oil is! My doctor told me there are 2 things he can spot from across the room...a woman who uses Retin-a and a women who uses Marula oil...he said " Their skin doesn't match their age" but he also told me the leather story...so it was a mixed bag! I hope your week-end is going well...I have a date tonight and we are going to see my son up north. I was going to ask you Cheryl...have you ever used Camellia Oil ? There is a rich history with this oil...in Japan and the Geisha girls..it was their #1 oil they had to use to help their skin under all that makeup...I want so badly to do a special video on this.I just ordered a bottle of it last night. Thank you for being such a good friend Cheryl...I just love you to bits...and Duff too!

One of my nighttime oil serums has Camellia oil in it and I'm sure it's been in other things I've tried. It became popular in this country because of Tatcha and their Camellia Cleansing Oil. Every part of the world has beauty secrets that women have gleaned from the native flora and fauna. It's fascinating and makes me want to try everything, LOL!! Have a good time tonight and Duffy says "woof" to Cooper :-)

Hello! What did your doc mean (I was reading comments) when he said he spots the differences between Retin A users and marula oil? Is it even better than Retin A? Interesting! Good information as always. . . . I love watching Cooper! I lost my sweet Georgie about five months ago and while it is hard still, I love seeing Cooper! I do miss having a doggie in my life!

My parents and sister have never understood me. Have always been accused of " having my head in the clouds ", even though I have lived a very practical and productive life. But dear, dear, Susan, you really said it when you talked about having a passion for living life. And in seeing the romance and poetry that exists in the mundane, everyday experiences, you bring a richness and vitality to your life that is there for all who choose to see it. Thank you for being who you are, and affording me the opportunity to see the beauty of life that you so perfectly express in your videos=)

Thank you so much for your prompt response. This helps. And I love your videos. Your voice is so soothing. And when it comes to,love, I didn't find my Prince Charming until I was 42. Had to go through 3 frogs first. My prince is 10 years younger and college educated. I had a high school degree, 3 ex's, 3 children, and was a secretary, and no child support. He saw something in me and said I deserved a better life. He took me and the kids on and we just celebrated 26 years of marriage. Granted it hasn't always been easy, but what marriage is. So go with your heart. There is someone out there who will see all the goodness and kindness you have to offer and he will be worthy of you. Never settle for less! That's what my husband told me. Never settle! Ever! And Cooper deserves that, too! P.S. You do not look your age! You are beautiful!

You uploaded this video on my birthday. My 66th birthday. It's hard to believe that. I'm feeling like I'm losing the anti aging battle. I'm not aging gracefully, that's for sure. I appreciate learning about the oils, and what they might do for my skin. It's the sagging at this point, so I'm going to give the Marula oil a try. I don't break out normally, but the rosehip oil seem to cause breakouts for me. Golly, what a Debby Downer. Sorry. I enjoy your videos very much. You are lovely. xoxo Sheri

Hahaha! I was giggling so much in the beginning! First of all, I just love your voice, as silly as that sounds. And your personality is just so endearing!! 😊 I'm really loving Squalane oil at the moment. I love adding a few drops to my eye and face creams for extra moisturization. And like you, I love my anti-oxidants! The more in a product the better! How do you use Vitamin E oil in your hair? I've got to pick up some Marula oil! And one last note. Your perspective and insight is beautiful...and poetic! It explains your Channel name very well. ❤️️

Hello Jenifer! I am so happy to see you here! I always think when I watch your videos how much longer it will be before you go viral. You are a star...you are beautiful, thoughtful and wise and every time I watch you I think about how special you are and what a flair you have for life. You inspire me to be better. and work harder. OH! Vitamin E oil for my hair...oh my Lord...my hair was falling out and dry 3 years ago and I stated using just a touch of Vitamin oil at night....rub it in and let it sit over night...I also use it ( just a touch) through my hair before I use my hairspray. It's magic to me for my hair...I wash my hair almost everyday and I suppose I should not do that...but using the oil in my hair seems to perhaps balance out my bad behavior! Happy 4th of July Jenifer!!!! xxxoo Susan & Mr. Cooper

You have inspired me Susan. I bought some Marula oil at Marshalls a couple of months ago. I was using it off and on and trying to figure how I wanted to work it into my skincare routine. This morning, after watching your video, I used it under my makeup. Danielle said that my skin was glowing this morning. It was the oil! Your skin is glowing and you look absolutely gorgeous. Love you lots....Laura

I do use Rose Hip oil & Argon oil. I was using Almond oil but found it too heavy for under my eyes. I did use it for awhile & it did nothing for my practically purple under eye circles. They're hereditary & I don't get good sleep. Doubt anything will help them. I have so much skin care now. I have to rotate them all! I'll have to think about Marula oil, I don't know where I'd fit it in. Always fun going shopping with you. Don't ever give up on love, that wouldn't be you. I loved the book the Thorn Birds & also the mini series. The book is always the best. Much love to you both, Lucy

I love that you're a romantic at heart--it's what makes your videos so beautiful. It's why you're a poet. It comes through in your clothes and your decor. Being romantic doesn't mean you're shallow. Quite the opposite. In your case, it means you're sensitive with a deep interior life. I can totally relate. Just keep doing you, Susan!!!! Seeing how great you look, I'm eager to give marula a try. Someone gave me a bottle of maracuja oil recently--Do you have an opinion about maracuja? The oil I've had great luck with recently is jojoba. My scalp was really irritated, so I tried so many different shampoos and conditioners. Finally, I added jojoba oil to conditioner and my scalp is back to normal. Hope you and Cooper have a great weekend!

Hi Susan, loved your video. Can you do a video on putting these oils on in the morning, and in the evening too the routine exactly that you do . Like washing your face in the morning ,then what do you put on before actually putting on the foundation. I'm a litttle lost what do you. In the morning I wash my face and put on my sunscreen then a moisturizer, then my foundation so how would I add the oils before the moisturizer and you say you used the rose-hip and then the Marula oil do you mix them together. So if you can I would like if you could do a video doing your routine from washing to foundation :-) Thanking you Susan.

I think passion must be contagious. I've caught your passion for facial oils, thank you very much. I've used Argan for a couple years but added Rose Hip Seed after watching one of your videos. Recently, I discovered Marula after watching a recommendation by MrKong'sMom. You are so right about how these plant based oils can help our skin look its best. Funny how oils fell out of favor back in the day, and everything was "oil free".Now the value of quality oils has emerged and lucky for us, oils are making a come-back. One other thing. I LOVED your choice of music for the opening. How apropos for this lovely African oil.

I love how your skin glows. I have bought quite a few of the oils you recommend and basically need them for lines under eyes, hyper pigmentation, and sun damage on my chest. I have rose hip, matrixyl 3000, glow maker, almond oil, avocado oil , studio 35, Olay retinal under eye cream. I'm so confused when to use all of these to get the best benefit from them. I feel if you don't use them daily you won't see results.i would appreciate any help with which order to apply them and when.

Mindy De Britos I am curious about what part of New Jersey you live. I just relocated from a small shore town near Rumson to South Beach and ended my 'snowbird' life. I do miss the 'Jersey vibe' once in awhile in spite of the great life here! My best to all of my NJ peeps.

Oh Carol...beautiful gal!!! I could not adore you more! How is your finger? I burned my finger so badly last week and it's still bad....argh!!! Oh CaCay oil....there are no studies on that oil....no documention and I am nervous about that company. They say it's more powerful then Rosehip oil but there is not one study that says that. I just don't get that company...I don't even find the tree! They get a "F" rating at FakeSpot.com for deception so I am very leary of that oil. BUT...that's just me...if it's working for you then perhaps I am full of it! LOL...I hope you new week is a good one!!! It's too bad we can't hang out and compare our fingers!!! Wow! Susan!! Lots going on in this video. As you said in the beginning, "who knows what's in this video." Well, there was a little bit of everything for everyone! The opening of your video with the tribal-like music and the man drinking alone...people dining, life, humanity in action...and then we cut to you talking about the oils with those earrings of movement. They go with the tribal music. Then you're talking about free radicals and earlier and later showed the skies. Love and the human condition...again, the guy drinking alone, people dining...Oh and The Thorn Birds! Who hasn't read that book or seen the movie or fell in love with Richard Chamberlain. It reminds me of the time we were in Detroit (my home town) and my cousin was being ordained as a Priest. Holy Smokes the other Priests there! All good looking young men! I pinched my sister and whispered "Thorn Birds!!" We don't have Priests that are good looking, young, handsome, all American men out here in the west. Oh, and the music at the end...so hopeful and inspiring. Touches the heart. Aligns the heart chakra! Rosebud!! But back to the basics...I have a love hate thing with the Acure line. I've tried their oils, but keep going back to other brands....

I needed to say this and don't want it to get lost in my comment about the oils. I homeschool and years ago, as I was working with my eldest son on poetry (he's now going into his jr year as an English major) I was trying to define poetry for him. I was struggling because it can be so many things. How can it be pinned down to one single definition? As I was considering what to say I looked out of our very large (just short of floor to ceiling, and wall to wall) kitchen window into our back yard that is cleared to about the size of an Olympic pool and then surrounded by woods. It goes on for several acres and is backed up to protected green space so it's beautiful and big. I watched the trees swaying in the breeze as the clouds blew over the space we call ours. There were so many birds flittering about and the sun was shining so pretty. I was remembering, in that moment, the joy we've had so frequently seeing deer, sometimes we leave apples out there and mamas come with babies; we see so many darling bunnies; we see possums from time to time and armadillos even. There are always butterflies all summer, and often Canada geese. 2 creeks flow thru "our yard" back in the woods - in just a moment all of these things came to mind and I had the sudden and sweet realization that God is the greatest poet there has ever been. He is the original romantic. All of His creation is absolute, undeniable poetry. It overwhelms me to think of it now, the vastness of it, of Him! The beauty and majesty of it all! I'm afraid I used to equate romanticism with unrealistic silliness; being the only girl with 3 brothers gets you laughed at, feeling humiliated if you cry when Bambi dies, you know? But I really learned that day what an honor and a privilege it is to be made in the image of God. To be made in the image of the One, True Poet, the Untamable Artist, the Chief Musician and Unapologetic Romantic! I'm sorry this is so long, as my comments always seems to be. But I felt a need to share this with you as it's what I was thinking as you were talking about being a romantic. Of course you are! You're made in the image of the truest, the original romantic. ❤️✌️🦋

I can just hear you saying that........what am I...." Oh MaryEllen, I still have a oily T-zone. Rosehip is actually a drying oil much like Retin-a. Few facial oils are for hydration.Facial oils are packed with vitamins, amino acids and anti-oxidants to heal, protect and hydrate our put-upon skin.Oils won't clog your pores and make you go even oilier, on the contrary. Also we use just 2 small drops and press it in the skin...I think of it as sunscreen only for the free-radicals.LOL Your skin is beautiful so whatever you are doing is working and you are comfortable with it...you are using Vitamin C with Vitamin E every morning...those contain anti-oxidants!!! Your skin always has a beautiful glow so I'm sure you could tell me a thing or two that's for sure!... xxoo Happy Week-end..sending love to you and Jim, Susan & Mr. C

Hello Susan, so good to see you. I think I panicked when I couldn't find you at first, ahh but here you are beautiful as always. I loved this video, I love all your videos! I did get the Rosehip seed oil and have been using it. I finally created a list for my morning and evening skin care routine that works for me. I put the oil on after all my serums and follow it with my moisturizers. I read that if you put the oil on too soon the serums will not penetrate the oil barriers. Oh, I just put the Marula oil on my wish list on Amazon...I actually have several things on that list. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with all the products and their claims. I really depend on what I learn from my favorite "youtubers". Hot and Flashy is so good at giving demonstrations with before and after pictures. If any of your readers have not seen her they should check out her channel. I hope your date was perfect and you got to enjoy seeing your son. I'm SO glad you did this video about marula oil. I literally (that's such an overused word, hey?) just got Acure brand Marula Oil on Tuesday. I've been using it in the mornings before sunscreen and makeup. I use my "Serum" that's a blend of matrixyl 3000, argireline (sp?), vitamin C and has hylauronic acid when I get up in the morning and brush my teeth. At night when I wash my face I use the rosehip seed oil and then coconut oil and I have used the Eucerin lotion with alpha hydroxy but I don't think I'll get that again as it's not cruelty free. It's to bad because I like it. I got a sample of IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream but it's not all that impressive. Every third day I use the alpha hydroxy cream that's by Studio 53? Not sure but it's the same one you showed. But I don't think it's cruelty free 😾 so I'll need to be on a hunt for another one. But anyway, I've made these oils my regimen because of you and they're making a difference, so I thank you! 😘 ✌️🦋

I am so glad you told me this...! Once somebody becomes a " believer" it makes me so happy! I need to show pictures of what my skin looked like before I started using oils on my face and gave up creams. It's scary but I need to do it...I think knowing your skin is so important...when to push and when to pull back...when you get in the habit of oils ( and wow a little goes a long way) I can't see how a wrinkle can form!!! The AHA Eucerin is intense! I use that once a week...holy smokes! I think it will last me 2 years! If you get time please keep me updated on how your skin is doing...with Marula oil I saw my texture start to improve and I saw that magic Marula glow....at my age, I just could not believe this could happen to me...thank you so much for being here...:) xxoo Susan

Hello Susan, I am Marion from Malta (Europe). I discovered your channel just last week and can't stop watching one video after another. You are a very beautiful woman on the outside and inside. I am 41 years old, and use coconut oil daily. Have you ever tried it? It is the only oil I have ever tried on my skin and find it quite good but I will definetely buy the oils you mentioned and try them out. Thanks for the nice videos, you keep me great company xxx.

Hello Marion! I do use Cocnut Oil every night to take off my makeup and I use it as a hair mask one a month ( thank you for reminding me!)..I don't talk a lot about it because it is the one oil that can trigger acne so I am afraid to bring it up. I love the oil and at night it's a special treat to take my makeup off with it! I am so gald you are here!!!xxoo Susan

I remember the Thorn Birds, a great one! Your thrift store is much cooler than mine, by the way. I wish I could find beautiful clothes like that. I ordered some Marula oil. I wanted to ask if you use a Retin A cream or just the Rosehip oil? You have such beautiful skin, so the oils are doing a great job. I adore you and Cooper. I watched the video where you talked about how you got him. Made me cry. All humans and creatures have imperfections, and I believe it is all part of what makes us beautiful.

    • @LittlePoet
      @LittlePoet  7 років тому +1

That is so so beautiful! Yes, imperfections are so light and meaningful....and when I love somebody it's thier imperfections that I cherish the most. Now skin...I am oler then you! At 62 I use a Retinol cream and oil along with my Rosehip oil...I think I showed that in my night-time video....I can't use Retin-a because it bother's my Dry Eye....but I may try again in the future...but as for right now it's my oils, AHA and Retinol....:) What works for me may not work for others....but I think the journey is so fun! Thank you for stopping by!!! xxoo Susan

I think mine is a Retinol also, and I've been using the Rosehip oil along with it. I also got the two AHA products you mentioned, the cream and the Eucerin lotion. I love them! My skin looks so much better now and it has taken care of the flaking under my makeup. So a lot of the things that you are using are also working very well for me and I thank you for that! You are also not much older than me, I will be 57 in a couple months, yippee, ha ha. My UA-cam photo is about 3 years old, ahem... I so look forward to your videos and getting to see the adorable Cooper every week. Take care, xoxo Lana

Susan I was so happy to hear your talk about Marula oil as I just started using it about a week ago. I wasn't really sure how to use it and would like to know how you use it. I would also truly like your honest opinion as to why an oil such as this might be shown on one popular UA-cam channel by a super informative lady that has physician grade products that sell 100% cold pressed Marula oil for $95? I really respect and appreciate her information on many products however there is such a discrepancy between that price and the one you spoke of it's so confusing. I know we would spend tons more if we were in an high end store getting one on one time with a clerk and leaving with a beautifully packaged product in a fancy bottle but that's not the case with her site for example. I'm not knocking her product by any means just curious with the research you always do on the products you talk about if you feel there truly is a difference from one Marula oil to another. I've heard people say with other type oils for example that you know it's not "pure" because of the color, smell or thickness but when you purchase an oil for the first time you really don't know anything about the color small etc. so, anyway would truly like to know your thoughts about this. I will say that I can tell more difference in my skin using Marula oil for one week than any high end expensive cream I have ever used and I've tried many in my ripe old age of 64:)) I did purchase mine from Shea Terra and I believe it was $14.99. Sorry for such a long, possibly confusing question but I find it hardest to chose which place to purchase new things from even if they seem to be a good company. Have a great weekend. Thank you again! Kat

I have to be really honest Kathy......I put so much research into the comapnies I get my oils from. It has to be pure and cold pressed....and we can get that for $20.00 or less. If I want the hype and the fancy bottle then I guess I can spend $50 to a $100 but for me, oil is oil as long as it's cold pressed! I keep my oils in the fridge and I make sure I don't use too much...but wow, Kathy! I started using Marula oil 6 weeks ago and oh my gosh...#1 the softness of my skin!!!! It's so hard to handle! I still have to drink lots of water and exfoliate but Marula oil has helped my with firmness so much and it's suppose to take a full year for us to see the results, so I am so excited!!!! Thank you for taking the time to chat abut this oil!!! Keep me up to date!!! xxooo Susan

    Hello Susan :)
Have you ever used CAYCAY OIL...?
Miaroma 100% pure Cacay Oil is cold-pressed and an incredibly rich source of Vitamin A, Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. It contains more Vitamin E than Argan Oil and more Retinol (a form of Vitamin A) than Rosehip Oil. Cacay Oil has conditioning properties that help to nourish and moisturise the skin and hair.
Would you try it one day and tells us your review...?
    P.S.-
I love ❤️ your radiant smile, and your upbeat sense of humor. Keep up the good reviews and youthful 👀

I love your picture Maria. I did use CaCay oil and I didn't care for it. I tried to do research on it and found no study backing up any claims that it has more Vitamin A then Rosehip Oil. Thank you for your very kind words and I hope you have a nice week-end! xxoo

yay!! a new oil to try, Marula sounds great, I'm loving cacay oil at the moment, love it I think it has really softened my lines, heard it's high in vitamin A so hope it's like natural retin A, those "free radicals", usually anything with free at the beginning we think yes give me some of that, but no thanks, no to free radicals lol!, think I've had to much caffeine Susan😱, hope you and Cooper have great weekend xox😘😘

Another awesome video! Full of knowledge, romance and comedy, all in one, what more can one ask for?! Thank you my friend ;)
My one skin problem is what I think is sun damage. Never used sunscreen in my life until I started watching YT, which was probably around three years ago. I'm using Retin A, I think in combo with other products, it is helping, but, because there is so much, I don't think I have enough time on earth to clear it all up, lol!! I use all the oils you suggested, but, not in the summer. Had to decrease some oils because I started getting what looks like baby acne :) since I decreased the Rose Hip and Argan to once a day (they seem to be the heaviest) it is starting to clear.
You touched on trying to be what others want, you deprive yourself, so I've learned. Probably why I have no clue where to go from here. I believe love is more than just sex, because there are so many ways of making love other than the act itself. I've been trying to tell my husband for over thirty years, the man still doesn't get it, lol!! TMI? Maybe, but, I feel that comfort with you and love your conversation.
Hi Mr. Cooper, looking so debonaire as always!! (I think I misspelled :)
    Blessings my friend!!

Catching up on your videos I haven't seen yet! I gave The Ordinary's Marula Oil to my 83 year old Mom, in September, and she really loves it! I've been trying Cacay oil for the last few months, and I like it so much better than my avocado oil, and my rosehip seed oil (I use Retin A, so I decided to switch from rosehip seed oil to the cacay oil). I also put argan oil on the ends of my hair, and that keeps my hair looking healthy. Do you think I should also use marula oil, and Vit E (I know it's also in my Cacay Oil) on my face, as well, Susan? My main problem is loss of skin turgor, and elasticity, and and slight dullness (since an emergency hysterectomy, and removal of my ovaries, resulting in instant menopause in 2006). So far, I've been able to avoid the development of most facial wrinkles, except for significant lines around my mouth, which do bother me more than they should, perhaps (I will be 57 the end of next March). Susan, you are a beautifully genuine, and articulate story teller who sees, and knows how we all try to relate to one another. Don't ever apologize for the wonderful gifts that you were given! The life stories chronicling our interconnectedness, our passions, and our primal need to be loved, valued, and validated must be keenly understood, and shared by someone like you, who feels them so deeply, and so authentically! I value, and appreciate your incredible abilities so very much; thanks so much for all of the valuable wisdom you share, Susan! Sending my adoration, and warm hugs from snowy, and frigid Southern Ontario, Sherrey💗🎀💗

I have several of the oils. I am going to give the Marula oil a try. I think I need a tutorial on just what is best to use in the morning after you wash your face and before you put your makeup on and the same for the evening. It can get confusing when you stare at the oils in the morning and say....ok I'll put the Rosehip Seed oil on now and what next 😳

What a great comment! I agree that it doesn't always move in a straight line. When my skin is dry I will use my Argan oil but others days I don't....it's like a dance I have learned to do with my skin...it's never the same and I think maybe that is why it seems to be working...Rosehip oil and Murula oil are the 2 that I do use day an dnight but I use such a small amount and tap them in for a long while...it looks silly but it makes me feel better I guess, like I'm slapping my wrinkles away! LOL ...Happy week-end!!! xxooo Susan & Coops
