- Hello! I take you through my methods of having young looking hands and neck as we age. I am 62. Being 62 I do not have a saggy neck and I share with you some of the things I do.I talk about my life as a young girl and confess about a long lost love. The wind was blowing, gusting up to 60 miles an hour while I was filming, so that is the noise you may hear in the background.

Your neck looks amazing so I'm going to start those neck exercises pronto! Here's a DIY scrub that I use on my face and my hands...just equal parts of coconut oil and baking soda - mix together and gently massage on to the skin - this can either be rinsed off or let set on the skin for a bit and then rinse/cleanse. It leaves the skin feeling amazing. On another note...I didn't expect to be single at this age and it has been a journey. I admire you for getting out there and dating....when I think of doing that I cringe. Must not be ready...:-)
I remember porcelana from years ago!! I had no idea that they still made it! Thanks for the great reminder. And you know, at one point in my life I used to do those facial exercises for my neck.. I am so glad you reminded me of those - goodness knows I desperately need them now!!! I've already started doing them. Marc sounds very special.... To have a connection so deeply with someone for so many years is rare.. And I will share this with you. I am in Hospice and often sit with people as they pass. The thing I hear repeatedly from people is the "what if's", and the "if I'd only". And they have run out of time. Just something to think about. I saw how strong the wind was in your video! My brother still lives in MI and they were out of power from Wednesday - Saturday.. He also had 2 huge pine trees fall.. And now some snow.. Please give Cooper an extra hug from me.. Ah yes, the "Man that Got Away." This was a very bittersweet story bookended by the two men in your life that got away. It's a part of life that we all grapple with. I, too, lost the man who I thought might have been my soulmate. I have "what if'd" that relationship to death and I finally realized that if that relationship had worked out, I wouldn't have done so many things in my life that I'm grateful for: traveling alone, living in NYC, going back to school in my 30's to get my master's degree, and of course Duffy, who came into my life when I lived in Virginia. And on and on... Who knows what the future may hold - but that's kinda the point :-) You and Mr. Cooper have fun today - much love to you both, xoxo, Cheryl
Oh Cheryl thank you for sharing that with me....when I look back, I really don't regret my loves. I always talk about love and romance like it's a concept not something real. I swear, you have such an amazing ability to see things as they are..." bookends"...I think that was a beautiful way to describe what I was trying to say..They say women look to marry their fathers...lol...so in some sense of twisted irony...my father was missing and so is my husband. Even though this subject comes up in my videos a lot, I really like being single ( most of the time). Going back to get your Masters Degree is so wonderful, I so admire your talents. Hi Susan, Time to stop ignoring the neck and hands! I'm so grateful for your ideas, & love the neck exercises. It makes me think of the face tapping video you did, which I must start as well! I'm not sure what to say about Marc, I believe our relationships are all about timing. We can connect deeply with someone, but depending on our life situation, it doesn't always work. So maybe now is the time?? Who knows. But it certainly wouldn't hurt visiting with each other to see what transpires! Dear sweet Sue, I know exactly what it's like to grow up not knowing your Dad and wondering if you look like him and just yearning for that information! The adults around me while I was growing up would never tell me anything. I thought it was a lost cause but after years and years of searching with the tiny bit of information I had, I miraculously found him when I was about 48. It went well and I am so thankful for the little time I had him in my life....about 3 years....he passed away in 2000. I got my DNA tested ay ancestry.com and that was very helpful as well. You have the most gorgeous neck! I've been saying "never, never" all day! I'm 68 and I don't know if it's too late! Lol You are such a lovely person.😘

Susan, I have been appreciatively watching your videos for months now...thank you so much for them. After mercilessly exposing my pale Nordic blonde skin to the sun during the '50's and much of the '60's, I developed dozens of dark age spots on my hands in middle age. My doctor told me to apply castor oil and gloves to my hands overnight, and within a few weeks of doing this the spots were gone. This is much safer than hydroquinone, which is banned in Europe and I believe Japan. I use microfiber cloths for exfoliation now, because my skin has thinned with age and I don't want to thin it any more. I am 67, and my hands and face look 20 years younger.
Oh Melissa that is a great tip! I am right with you there about wanting to use things that are good for us! 2% Hydroquinone I felt was a low enough does where it would be safe...and it is shocking how fast it works...but I love your story and I had no idea castor oil was so powerful. I don't have age spot on my hands but I am getting those " freckles" lol...on my face...but they are not too bad...yet! I bet at 67 you are just beautiful and I am so glad you are here and chatted with me tonight!!!!

I watched your most recent video, and last summer I went to Tennessee to visit my childhood best GF. Beautiful state. She's about 45 minutes from Chattanooga near Franklin. If you can make it to Leapers Fork, they have the coolest local food joint calked Puckett's, and they have open mic nights. I didn't have the time to see it, but I hand drum, and when I saw the congas sitting there, I struck up a conversation with a local, he told me about their open mic nights, and it made me so excited. Any kind of music you want to perform is welcome.
We come from the same generation when that was a great thing to go watch.
I simply love your music. My life depends on music. It has saved my life.

I have one son who is the love of my life unfortunately for me he lives 900 miles away from me. my dad left us when I was 13, which broke my heart. As usual a great video. I didn't grow up with my father but he is a part of my life now. He has had very bad health for the last couple of years and I have been able to help him in finding health care and just showing him love. He is currently in a nursing home. Actually, last night I went and picked up his wife and we went to a Mardi Gras party at the nursing home. We all had a great time. Thank God the DJ was great. Another lovely video, I just wanted to give you a hug when you talked about Marc. It's interesting to read how some people are saying jump on a plane and some are advising caution...just like the push/pull within you. There are no easy answers. Am so happy to read in the comments that Cooper is feeling better! He is such a lovely boy with a sweet face. You look stunning in this video and thanks for the neck exercises tips. I also wanted to thank you for your videos on Rosehip seed oil. I changed my skin care after watching them to put oil on first instead of last: I use Cacay oil - as I prefer the scent - with Watermelon seed oil on top (my skin seems to love the magnesium in that!) I wait 10 minutes then slap on Vitamin C serum with Hyaluonic acid (this mattifies the oil) and finish with whatever moisturiser I'm trying to use up that would work under make up. Just in the last 3 weeks my skin has really improved. I'm 47 so perhaps that's why my skin has responded so quickly,. As I have rosacea I love the watermelon seed oil, applied alone it seems to take down the redness within 15 minutes so I will never be without that ever again! . I'm delighted and it's thanks to your tip that some oils can act as "Trojan horses" to drag skin care deeper into the skin. So thank you again. Of course I love your videos for more than your skin care and make up tips, fun as they are. You share yourself and your thoughts and that is very special.

Susan, its such a joy to hear from you. If you decide to try watermelon seed oil I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! I am thinking of trying out the Shea Butter soap you've mentioned in other videos. Yes, I am soppy about animals. I'm so happy Cooper is doing better with the new food. I hope you both have plenty more time together. The pet I had the longest was a beautiful little black cat called Pickle. She came from a rescue centre - she was 4 when I got her and lived to 20.5 years. It was very painful to lose her (2009) but it was a huge comfort knowing how she had a long and happy life. What helped me most was having taken so many photos of her, I got an electric photo frame that runs the photos like a slide show. Plus I had lots of video footage which helped as well. On a different note, it is lovely to see all the women supporting each other and you with their comments on your videos...we are all stronger than we know. Yes, I feel we are friends too. I loved your story about the piano.
I love that beyond words...how we support each other here. It's very special. Pickle lived over 20 years!!! Oh now that is love! She wanted to stay with you. I fee that way about Cooper...he is 14 now...and he gets sick...he has bad days but I feel he goes on becasue he and I are a team. I guess that sounds silly...but it sure feels true! Loved every minute of this video Sues. Your neck looks incredible. You have motivated me to start exercising it! The lipstick looks amazing on you. I have one shade from that line and it is so nice. I really like the texture of the lipstick and it is moisturizing. My husband's father was killed when he was six months old. He has missed knowing his father his entire life. He has so many questions even though there are a few pictures. He has always felt like there is a missing piece in the puzzle of his life. Seeing what he has gone through has always made me feel for children and adults that grow up without their dad. You are an incredible person and your dad has really missed out not knowing you. I too understand your comment about wanting just one photo of your dad. I'm an adoptee and don't know what my father looks like, but I recently obtained a photo of my mother. A photo of each was all I really wanted. Thank you for another informative and fun video!
Although not having a father in our lives is not the ideal situation, for me I feel it made me stronger. Mine was in my life, but not really there for us, if that makes any sense. So I learned from a strong mother how to take care of myself and not depend on anyone. I wouldn't say it hardened me, but I know that's the reason I will never let anyone hurt me. I won't give anyone that power, especially a man. Your neck and hands do look great. Thanks for the neck exercise tips. I use a cream called black and white bleaching cream with 2% hydroquinone, but I'm not as vigilant with the sunscreen as I should be. Marc and you have so much in common. Hi Susan- last week on the 1st I woke up and felt happy- it was my 42nd birthday. So I did what I normally do in the morning and checked facebook right before I left for work. I read that someone in the town that I live in jumped off a bridge over a highway and committed suicide. Later that morning I learned that it the man that committed suicide was a very good friend of mine's husband. This past Monday was the funeral, as I was watching my friend and her children walk down the aisle at their husband/fathers funeral, I kept thinking to myself, my god, you just never know what life is going to bring you. I am going to say the same thing to you- you never know what life is going to bring you. Go to Colorado- and see what happens with him. You don't want to have any regrets or always wonder what would have happened if you would have went. If you can take time off from work and can afford to go- then you should go. Even if it's for a few days. I can see it in your eyes- you want to go. Hugs to you my friend!

Gosh, I get it!! I really do cuz I have been in your shoes many times & a couple failed marriages. I think much of this is that we loved to much or shall I say we loved 'more' . We wore our heart on our sleeve and they knew it... Perhaps took advantage of it and ran with it Nd then let it go... Like letting go of a kite .

As my grandmother once said ; as Lillian was very wise .... She said 'the man must be more in love with you and show his actions more than you. He has to worship the ground you walk on and put you on a pedestal for it to be ever lasting . Well, I finally decided to see if this indeed could be true . It has . Yes, I love but it's as if I take now a step back ... pause and not be so nurturing, so giving as before and wow!! It's twofold what I receive in return . I receive double the respect, the attention that I know I deserve and so can any woman out there .

Hi Susan. I saw a license plate here in Central Texas the other day that reminded me of you and Cooper. The plate was pink... maybe a breast cancer awareness plate. It said Cooper, but the o's were replaced with pink hearts. It was really sweet and I instantly thought of you and Cooper. I need to work on my hands and neck... good info!

I love the Vaseline lotion. There was one scent in the flavor of vanilla and coconut. It does help my hands. I do an exfoliating 2-3 a week to remove dead skin. And when I do have time I use my hand cream and wear a pair of gloves for a few hours. Your neck is very smooth. Your skin suggestions was very informative. I always look forward to your videos. Susan... I loved hearing how you take care of your hands and neck, never knew of those exercise but now I am going to do them. I want to find the moisturizer that everyone talks about from Walgreens, I don't have A walgreens here where I live, but there is a couple other area near me that do... I also enjoyed hearing about you and Marc, sounds like something special.. someone special to you in your heart.. I think there is always someone like that, they come into our lives and make us feel special.. I feel lucky in a sense of having it twice in my life, I had a love long ago who I never forgot ever.. Still he does pop in my mind, I think back to that time we were together and wonder what if? But having my kids and granddaughter now, I think it all happened how it was planned to. Even tho I came from a very abusive relationship, as I told another.. I had to learn to trust again, to love and to find myself again.. Pete ( my husband now ) we have our moments, but any relationship does, but the one thing he does give me is that feeling I had with the other guy from long ago.. I believe you know the gift of the one and only true love, which those who never experience it will never understand it. Many times we get so caught up in raising children and surviving life that we put that very special one and only true love on the back burner to merely pull it out in tremendous joy from time to time. A second chance needs honest heart-to-heart attention because life can make us survivors and cautious of change that is sometimes necessary to have a second chance. I know, Susan, believe me I know. Caution and responsibility be damned because I want to say I gave a second chance my best. Now...just need to get up and go even for the possibility of ridding ourselves of the fear of not being a slave to caution and responsibility.

Hi Susan, fellow GR gal here. Thanks for the recommendation for hand products. I recently purchased a 4% tube of hydroquinone for spots on my face, that I plan to use just until the spots are gone. I didn't realize you could buy a weaker strength! When I checked out Walgreens, I ended up purchasing a brand called Nadinola, which was a bit more expensive, but has 3% hydroquinone, as well as a sunscreen. It was the last one, so I figured it had to be good! I also found several of the Studio 35 Alpha Hydroxy Face Cream, but I bought 2 just in case it is discontinued. I didn't see any other of the usual Alpha Hydroxy products at this Walgreens, but the employees didn't think it had been discontinued. I paid $10.49 each. Thanks again!

Hi Susan, what a bittersweet video. Maybe we all have that "one that got away." Maybe its worth going to Colo to find out, no? While its good to be reasonable and cautious with our lives, and Scripture warns to guard our hearts for they are the wellspring of life. If you've considered all the risks, maybe its a bigger risk that you could travel thru the rest of your life not taking what's yours. Its very possible that he's just a little lacking in oomph when it comes to relationships...it seems he might be accustomed to casual connections with people since he's traveled a lot with his music, you know? Its hard to nurture deep connections when you're being transient. Im prolly not saying anything you've not thought of yourself. Just trying to be a friend to (almost) talk it out with. ~ hoping you find peace

We grew up together and married young , like three of my younger sister's did .We were all still married until two of us lost our husbands , but the other 2 are still together .A family of five sisters .I have been blessed .

I have no age spots but my hands show my veins..all that piano playing, gardening....typing...you name it...hands take a beating! I have heard of fillers for your hands but it would rather give that money to chairty. LOL...Carrie, I have made those funny face three times a day for years along with the tapping...no wonder my hands are shot! Ah Marla, you are so kind. Thank you so much for listening to some songs. Some folks are doctors, lawyers, plumbers..etc..I just ended up being a songwriter. It was my entire life. Now in my 60’s I can kind of be free to sort of try new things. I am glad I wound up on UA-cam because I have met so many incredible women like you. Everybody has a story and I just love every minute I get listening to women tell their story.For once, I prefer to listen over my shouting. Who knew! xxoo Happy new week & lunch!

A thought provoking beginning about your absent Father which made me shed a tear for you; how very sad.
My work worn hands (from farming & gardening in all elements most of my life) needs more than hand cream.I'm afraid they are so rough sometimes that I despair. I use sugar soap to prepare then soak them in warm olive oil...I hate doing it but....!

Hi Susan i never knew my blood father.I was adopted.However i was lucky enough to be raised by the most wonderful,gentle gentleman.My adoptive fathet and indeed mother.However i was very close to my daddy.I fell apart when he died (2003) iv never been put back together.I met my blood mother but we dont really have a relationship (her choice) I have a blood brother and hes been just a gift.We met about 14 years ago.Its never too late Susan.You are a beautiful woman and you deserve to know "what you are all about" x
