2021 6.3 the best version of this ended up on The cutting room floor from the movie honeysuckle Rose where Willie and Emmylou Harris performed it. You can hear a couple minutes of it and then there is dialogue from the movie and the song appears nowhere in the soundtrack. I think that was a crime against nature.
It’s a great song and that’s a great movie. I first heard the song on the greatest hits album.

He can sing amazing when he sings on the beat.Proof is in the movie Honeysuckle Rose! Damn, I really wish he always sang like he did in the movie!
Too bad you don’t understand how beautiful the cadence that Willie sing with is. He truly uses his voice as an instrument of Jazz. Anyone can sing on the beat, but it takes a true musician to master singing amongst it, and give space to the music.
