I remember when Willie Nelson first came on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, that proved he was up and coming star No? I was skeptical “That guy? No way he’s going to be famous, he’s an old man” All I can say is that i was not trying to predict the future, gray hair just made me biased. So glad for Willie’s longevity and the richness of his contribution to the world.

His sister was never that impressive. Lots of folks would be mad about my opinion of her. But she sounds to me like a grade school music teacher. But nevertheless willie always had her back and she returned it. Family was strong through music. The drummer lacked in talent as well unless one likes lots of snare tapping but he carried his band mates because I'm guessing they carried him many times behind the scenes. But willie will always be a true American treasure.

I partied with all those guys one night probably a while before that because Willie Nelson had really short they were all super super nice and then I met again on the road he was playing with my cousin's band Mickey's the best on the harmonica

I was in high school from 1968-1972 about 25 miles from Macon, Ga. and got to experience the Allman Brothers from beginning till Duane and Berry died, and got to see Little Richard among others at Grant's Lounge. I lived in, or frequinted, Central Texas, not too far from Austin from 1975 till 1983. I saw Willie and Waylon many-a-time. Got to experience the Austin music scene when it really was such a thing. I'm sitting here in my apartment in the New River Valley of Virginia as I type this. I'm one lucky m-effer. That's all I got to say.
