    By 'soft' I mean that the chevrons are soft, not sharp like you see in other patterns. They are much like a ripple.
    For a smaller or larger Soft Crochet Chevron Blanket use a multiple of 12 + 3 to create your foundation chain.
    For example: To make my blanket I am using 6 multiples of 12 + 3 (the extra 3 is for the turning chain.)
    12 + 12 + 12 + 12 + 12 + 12 + 3 = 75 chain stitches to start my blanket.
    12 stitches will create one chevron (the 'V' shape) as you start working stitches into the foundation chain.
    The size of the blanket I have made was a small one for demonstration purposes.
    Soft Crochet Chevron Blanket Written Pattern:
    Materials Required:
    1 skein of Red Heart With Love Clover Yarn
    1 skein of Red Heart With Love Berry Red Yarn
    5.5mm/I Crochet Hook
    Craft Scissors
    Yarn Needle
    Stitch Marker
    Skill Level
    Easy

    Width & Length = 24 x 24 inches/61 x 61 cms
    Stitches & Terms
    ch = chain
    ch-3 = 3 chain stitches made on previous round (at start of row)
    dc = double crochet
    dc2tog = double crochet 2 together
    hk = hook
    rep = repeat
    sl st = slip stitch
    sp = space
    st/s = stitch/es
    Using your first color:
    ch 75 or multiples of 12 + 3 loosely. (Count your foundation chain stitches to be sure you have the right amount to avoid mistakes in the pattern.)
    Place a stitch marker in the 11th ch st counting from the start.
    Row 1: 1 dc into 4th ch from hk, * 1 dc into each of the next 3 ch sts, dc2tog (twice), 1 dc into each of the next 3 ch sts, 2 dc into each of the next 2 ch sts, rep from * until 11 sts remain, take out the stitch marker, 1 dc into each of the next 3 ch sts, dc2tog (twice), 1 dc into each of the next 3 ch sts, 2 dc into the last ch st, turn.
    Place a stitch marker in the 11th dc st at the other end of your work, count ch-3 as your 1st st.
    Row 2: ch 3, 1 dc into the same sp as ch-3, * 1 dc into each of the next 3 dc sts, dc2tog (twice), 1 dc into each of the next 3 dc sts, 2 dc into each of the next 2 dc sts, rep from * until 11 dc sts remain, take out stitch marker, 1 dc into each of the next 3 dc sts, dc2tog (twice), 1 dc into each of the next 3 dc sts, 2 dc into the top of the ch-3, turn.
    Rows 3 - 4: Rep Row 2.
    Finish off. Once you have finished off, turn your work and join 2nd color in by making a sl st into 1st dc. Work over yarn tails as you work on the next row.
    Rows 5 - 8: Rep Row 2.
    Finish off. Once you have finished off, turn your work and join 2nd color in by making a sl st into 1st dc. Work over yarn tails as you work on the next row.
    For all following rows continue on with the above instructions to get the length you desire then ending with the same color yarn that you started with.
    Optional: Add a round of single crochet or half double crochet as an edging to finish off the blanket.
