Hello Everyone,
today I am going to show you how to crochet this super easy and beautiful Chevron Stitch.
Great Pattern for Blankets.
Have a great time crocheting!
Used Yarn : www.loveknitting.com/us/paint...
So I majorly struggled with the count and had to restart about 12 times. So I wrote it all out and it really helped me. I used stitch markers on the middle of the peak and the middle of where I skipped 2 to make sure I kept count.
If this helps you:
Cast on: 216 baseline + 5 (this was 27x8 +5)
Row1:
Skip the first stitch
Sc 2, skip 1
Sc 12
Sc 3 into one stitch
12 sc
Skip 2 sc and single crochet into 3rd
Sc 11 more
Sc 3 into one stitch
12 sc
Skip 2 and sc into 3rd
Keep going as above until you're left with 3 stitches then skip one and sc 2
Row2:
Chain 1 and turn work over
DON'T SKIP ANY STITCHES, go right into the first one - sc 2
Skip 1 and sc into the next
Sc 11 more
Sc 3 into one stitch
Sc 12
Skip 2 and sc into 3rd
Sc 11 more
Sc 3 into one stitch again
Sc 12
Repeat until end of row with 3 stitches left then skip 1 and sc 2
This helped me so much. Thank you for taking the time to write this ❤️
This went straight to my head.....if you hadn't commented on this I would have probably dropped the plan of making a blanket 😅 it's confusing.....thank you so much for making it simple❤️
Thank you so much! Very helpful!!
Tq so much for all the numbers you've wrote down...it makes easy for me as I'm a slow learner... really helpful 💞
thank you!!
Thank you....This makes a lot of sense to me! I've tried to learn this stitch for 30 yrs, and finally, understand it.
This was the same stitch my grandmother used for my mom's Afghan in the 1970s always wanted it so thank you so much 🙏
I love all your tutorials, your are my favorite "go-to" for learning a new pattern! You explain it so easily & it fun instead of becoming a headache like some other videos . ALL of your blankets are so beautiful! Thank you so much for posting your tutorials 💗
I've made two of these so far and LOVE the pattern! Simple to follow and turns out beautifully.
Your tutorial is the easiest I’ve found so far, I have some scrap yarn I’ve been wanting to use before buying new skeins, this will be simple! Thank you!
So easy to follow. Thank you for working the whole row with us so patiently. I’m teaching myself and can follow you because you are so clear.❤️❤️
Thank you watching and listening to you made it easy to understand how to crochet this blanket. Most videos end quickly but you kept showing more rows how to turn and add a different color. Thank you I finally get it 😃
I love your calm voice, this tutorial, I wasn’t nervous thank you , I’m 78. Will crochet this
My grandmother passed away before I was born and made a chevron blanket and I wanted to recreate one for my mother to use so she would like it. I’m glad I could find this it’s exactly what I needed thank you
Thanks so much for this fantastic tutorial. Finally a chevron pattern that is easy to follow. A lot of tutorials are not a pleasure to follow but yours are and you get straight to the point. thanks again.
Bless you, this is my first chevron which actually worked!!!! So simple to follow. Thank you 😊
OMG! I could totally do this. Claudetta, you are the patron saint of crocheting! Thank you for keeping the flipping over part clear- that's where I usually get confused.
if you need music when you crochet, i suggest "row, row, row your boat"
just a suggestion, i have crocheted for over 50 yrs and i was taught this trick at least 30 yrs ago. instead of putting 3 single crochets in the peak, place a chain between 2 single crochets. that means single crochet, chain one and single crochet in the peak chain. this gives a much sharper point.
Still pretty new so I’m trying to understand exactly to get this right. So it would be sc12, chain 1, then go back to sc12 instead of sc12, 3sc into 1, sc12? Or did I misunderstand
@Richard Benjamin hi Richard, thanks for this suggestion, will definitely try it
@Jasmine Hernandez hi Jasmine, what Richard suggests is sc12, then in the next stitch sc1, chain 1and sc1 all in the same stitch, then sc12, etc. Hope this helps 😊
This is great idea. Just like doing your corners on a blanket. Thank you
I did my first attempt on this blanket as she said (except I did double crochet) and on my second one I’m trying the stitch chain stitch. I’m glad someone else tried it before me.
this is the best most thorough but easy tutorial I have found where I understand everything, thank you so much!!
Thank you! I’ve tried making a chevron multiple times and it’s never worked out. This is explained perfectly! Much love.
Thank you so much. I have watched so many other chrocheter's teaching video's and yours is by far the best, at least in my opinion. I did my first very small blanket (puff stitch) taught to me by my grandmother when I was nine, and believe it or not, I have not had a crochet needle in my hand since then, I am 53 now. I felt the urge to do a blanket as over the years I have seen some beautiful yarn. The eyelash is by far my favorite. I am now attempting to crochet a blanket for myself with some very soft chunky (?) yarn. I so love this chevron pattern, and cannot wait for it to be done. Again, thank you for the wonderful tutorial here.
Thank you finally a simplified video of the chevron stitch.
My grandma used to always make blankets with this pattern. Man I miss her! I might try to make one after I get a little better at crocheting
I set out to learn the chevron pattern and tried a few videos until I found yours. You made it SO easy to understand I picked it up immediately and now I’m hooked (no pun intended).
I have watched so many tutorials on how to crochet a chevron afghan and I always! mess it up. This tutorial was the most clear and concise and lo and behold I haven’t made any mistakes. Thank you so much for saving my sanity.
I've made these before but needed a clear and concise refresher and this was great... Also I never had the conficence to change colors and love the way she does it! Thank you
I've never done this before, but I watched and followed along with your video. Now I'm several rows in and it is perfect! Thank you for posting! 💜
Anna Mendenhall Hi, Did you have a problem with edges curling up??
I crochet, and I’ve been looking for years, you are the First to go over numerous times to Be Sure We Got it, and I GOT IT. Thanks Much
Hi Claudette, I made two, now I’m starting a third. One for each of my children and their family. You are a spectacular teacher. Thank you. It was much easier than it looks because of you. From the Bronx, New York Jeanette
Thank you sooo much for this...after many failed attempts at crocheting the chevron blanket...i have finally succeeded!! Thank you
I am so happy I found you. I am new to the crochet world and I can't believe how easy you make it for us. I have already made a whole bunch of blankets and it makes for a lovely present. Thank you for the detailed instructions.
Your instructions were super easy to follow and I love your trick of "sewing" in the yarn during your color change! I'm a newbie to crocheting and found your video to be the most helpful when it comes to the Chevron style :) Thank you!!!
So do you cut the old color when you start the new one? I'm also new at crocheting and that part I'm a little confused on
Me toooooo
@@kayj4657 Yes, I do. I weave it in afterwards 🙂
You're so precious 💗 you sharing and patient to teach thanks 😊 blessings 🙏
Out of all the many videos I’ve just just seen, this is the easiest. Thank you!!!
I have been struggling with this pattern and haven't been able to get it right until I came across your video. Thank you, thank you, thank you sooooo much!!!
That looks easy enough... I should try it when I get the colors I want. 😉👍🏽 Thanks for explaining this video from Start to Finish.
Beautiful blanket and a fantastic tutorial which is so straightforward and clear to follow
Thank you for this pattern and colour choice. I tried chevron when I was still new to crochet and gave up. But I decided to try it again after a few years. Your tutorial has inspired me to give it another try. The colours are so eye catching and well matched. I think the final product I make will be a thing of beauty to enjoy for many years.
Best Chevron tutorial yet!!!!! Thank you!
I absolutely love the selection of colors you used!
Thank you. Your instructions are very clear and I made a nice afghan for chill winter nights.
What a beautiful baby blanket. I really enjoyed this tutorial thank you x
Great explanation of how to do the Chevron. Looking forward to my completed blanket
Thank you for an easy to understand and follow pattern! Take care :)
I love the colors! It’s so pretty! It can g with pastels or primary colors. It’s so nice to see colors other than pink or blue!!
You have a good way of explaining this tutorial,xx
Great tutorial, very informative and easy to follow. Thank you!
Great tutorial! I can’t wait to make this for my baby due in December!
Loved your tutorial...finally one I can follow! You're to the point and you don't feel the need to jabber, which drives me crazy with other bloggers!..I'm old, what can I say:) Teaching myself to crochet via you tube. Thanks!!
i hope it goes well 😊
How is it going 9 months later?
@@dianecrumbley90 I can't get my edges to look as beautiful as yours. But it IS the first tutorial I feel I was able to follow easily. Thank you!
Same I can’t stand tutorials which ramble on about their daily problems. We’re all struggling 😂
Me too Susan! I'm in my 60's and my Grandmother always knitted and crocheted why didn't I listen? 😄 I made my granddaughter a blanket for her bed. My Gmom would have been proud. Now to tackle this stitch...I want fast and easy! Not getting any younger! Great teacher!! Ty for an easier tutorial to follow!! 😊
I love your tutorials I find that you explain things so well. Thank you and please keep doing more 👍👍
Loved it! Thank you for sharing this stitch and your talent with us so we can learn too!
Your video instructions were so easy to follow. I've tried chevron before and ended up so frustrated. I really appreciate your clear instructions. I've done four rows and it looks wonderful. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this! It looks easy enough to follow. I hope you can do a follow up video on how you filled the gaps /squared the other end of the blanket.
I have made 2 of these blankets. I love this pattern and you are so clear with the instructions. Thank you so much.
Wonderful job demonstrating this pattern. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this clear and concise tutorial!
I started this blanket last night!!! I am loving how it’s turning out so far. I’m only using two colors for practice. It’s purple and white. Then I will make it in three different yarns. One skein is solid blue, one variegated and one solid white. I can’t wait to get started on the second blanket!! The variegated skein has blue, green and white in it!!! 🧶
Thank you for the great instructions and close up video of your stitches...very helpful.
Good day to you 🧶, your instructions are easy to follow. Hopefully, I will not mess up your pattern. Thank you, kindly.
Thank you so much for the youtube video. It makes a lot more sense than some of the chevron patterns I already have. I've tried to write out a pattern from your video and think I've got it but if you ever do a written one, please let me know.
For those struggling with the stitch count, 4 basic principles:
1) be sure to add 5 to your multiple of 27 AFTER the multiple (so for example 135 for 5 Chevrons + 5 = 140).
2) Remember to skip the first chain on your foundation row only, so you're working into 139 chains, then sc2 and skip 1, then sc12, sc3 in next stitch, etc. Do not skip 1 at the beginning of the second and subsequent rows, just sc2, skip1, then sc12, etc.
3) On each row after your last count of 12sc there should be 3 stitches remaining; be sure to skip 1 then sc2 (=3st).
And 4) Use stitch markers, they'll make your life so much easier! 😊
Thank you!! 😊
@@yurikciasuarez9111 you're very welcome, hope that helps! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions
Thank you, thank you , thank you!!!!
God bless you 😄🙏🌸
@@loreneharrell2716 You're welcome! Good luck!
Thank you very much. The way you teach. It is very simple. I appreciate your time and team ..❤
You made this so easy to follow. I have saved your video as I want to make this for every one in the family especially my 5 grand kids and a shawl for my mom.
This video was really helpful. I’m trying to create a shorts with this pattern and I have been struggling with this for weeks and just saved my life 😂. Thank you so much.
Wow this really helpt a beginner like me. Thanks for this turtorial
Beautiful blanket. Stunning manicure! :o)
Thank you! That was very good teaching. I think I'm ready to try this blanket. God bless!
I just started 3 Weeks ago. I just ran across your videos today and love how you explain and show everything I’m looking forward to seeing many of your videos
You explain very well. I just listen and I will try it later on, all memorized.
Really? It doesn't work for me. I must be stupid. After I do 12 sc there are four stitches at the end and then each row it increases by one. I don't have to do a darn thing it just increases.
@@monabiehl6213 I'm having a similar trouble. I even used the same amount that the tutorial used and I'm left with 5-6 stitches at the end.
Thank you for this video - super helpful and great pacing! :)
Oh wow this is way easier than I thought. Thanks for the good instructions I will definitely try this!
Wowlm definitely gonna make it. really easy to make. I just got into crochet now. I'm busy teaching my self now. I was more into knitting. Thank you so much for this idea.
Thank you for sharing. This is the best video I have seen on chevron. Easy to understand.
Very well presented, a great pattern and lovely to listen to your voice. Most importantly your tutorial was easy to follow with the important points highlighted and bonus how to change colourways .... cannot wait to start this blanket for my daughter.... thank you

I love this pattern it so simple I did double crochet, instead of a single crochet! Came out amazing. It also saved me time on the single crochet lol
How did you do dips with double crochet
Did u still chain up 1 at the end of the rows doing a double crochet?
First time for to attempt a zig zag stitch and you have really made it easy for me to understand. Can't wait to try. 👍👍👍
Great instructions, very easy to follow!
i have been trying to find an interesting but still easy stitch for my temperature blanket that i am starting and this seems like the perfect one. i started it super late in the year because we’re already halfway through but i have decided it would be fun because of this i am switching colors every row and i hope it turns out looking good. thank you for the tutorial
Love this pattern! Looks so easy too
Thank you😁. I thought this was going to be difficult but you talked me through very easily😁❤️
Thanks for the tutorial. Very pretty example.
Thank you so very much! Clearly shown, explained and MOST of all NO SUPER FAST crocheting thus eliminating where and how to insert your hook properly on the 12 sc! Other videos almost gave me whiplash and made my eyes cross! Merry Christmas from Texas!
This was clearly explained and easy to see. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your tutorial! Very clear and easy to follow. Finally I understand.
I love your calm voice! ( And your nails😊)
