Gravity fed water tank to pressure washer on Ford Maverick '22

- Installed this 35 gallon water tank in the bed of my 2022 Ford Maverick XLT which I use for my mobile detailing business. There is no pump to feed the water to the pressure washer, all gravity fed and so far have had no issues with the water flow. The height of the drain valve on the tank is 1" higher than where the hose connects to the pressure washer. I did originally think I would have to mount the tank up higher for better water flow, but so far it has been working great just like this.
This 35 gallon water tank was purchased at Tractor Supply and brass connector pieces were picked up from Lowes, all 3/4".
Why do people hate on gravity fed systems? I think the only improvement could be to raise the water tank so it is sitting about the pressure washer, otherwise it’s a great video!!
It actually gets water no problem. I thought I would have to build the frame higher but the flow comes out just perfectly. So far had no issues with it and I use it several times a week.
I actually have this same setup and honestly I get enough pressure to sting my hand with the hose, gravity fed I could probably spray my face with it. I think a hose gets more pressure than a gravity fed pressure washer. That being said I need to find a solution or might not do this business. Customers wanna cheap out, it’s 100 degrees here lately and I’m a below knee amputee
@@Sanhozay i have legit the same setup haha
@@royalautodetailing5092 ayee nice
What adapters are you using and what size shut off valve ?
How gallon water tank do you have?
What adapter did you use for this ?
Where’s your electric source coming from bro?
I got a generator for power, some customers let me use their outlets on occasion though. I actually upgraded my setup a bit, will post a video of that soon
@Sanhozay love what you did man! Could you post a slightly more detailed video? Love to learn how you decided on your setup, your generator, etc.
Have you came across any issues with the gravity fed water? Currently looking into doing mobile detail and don't want to drop lots of money on a water pump.
None at all so far.
What pressure washer are you using because my Ryobi doesn’t seem to work with this system
I’m currently using a greenworks 1700 psi electric pressure washer, it works decent but i will be upgrading to a much better unit soon (kranzle 1622ts). You have to prime the pressure washers pump with water when first connecting it to ensure proper water flows through. I also noticed that using any connectors that restrict flow can slow the water down, had that issue while first testing out different connectors, got some with a wider opening on the insides and the water flows out really wel
Yoooo how you like the maverick
I was just checking those out 😁
What kind of real world mpg are you getting ?
I love it so far, its a fun truck forsure. I have the ecoboost model and i average out at 21. I mostly drive in the city though
How much wood could a Woodchuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood?
What kind of tank is that and did it come with the straps?
Norwesco 35 Gallon horizontal leg tank, i ordered the straps separately. Those were hard to find.
@@Sanhozay where did you get those straps??
