Mobile detailing water tank pressure washer setup DIY - 2022 Ford Maverick
Updated video of my pressure washer setup in my 2022 Ford Maverick. The water is gravity fed to the pressure washer from the tank. I use this mobile detailing setup almost daily with no issues and I have tried a few other small electric pressure washers but those didn't seem to prime the pump fast enough with water. This greenworks pressure washer (13amp 2000 psi 1.1gal) has been able to hold up pretty well for the last several months. Using some extra wood laying around I was able to mount my hose reel to the pressure washer making it one portable unit that is easy to move and also reel up at the end of a job.
Build list:
-Greenworks 2000 psi 1.1gpm 13 amp electric pressure washer
-Steel Dragon tools 50 ft pressure washer hose reel
-MTM Veloci 50 ft hose with connects
-Norwesco 35 gallon horizontal leg water tank with metal straps
-3/4" npt ball valve
-3/4" brass connector
-Flexzilla 3ft & 5 ft hoses

Gravity fed water tank to pressure washer on Ford Maverick '22
Переглядів 13 тис.2 роки тому
Installed this 35 gallon water tank in the bed of my 2022 Ford Maverick XLT which I use for my mobile detailing business. There is no pump to feed the water to the pressure washer, all gravity fed and so far have had no issues with the water flow. The height of the drain valve on the tank is 1" higher than where the hose connects to the pressure washer. I did originally think I would have to mo...

Nameless Performance axelback exhaust on my 5th gen legacy 2.5i. This is the one with the muffler. With no other mods this exhaust finally gave my car that boxer rumble that subi’s are known for.

Nice very simple I do have the same idea I have a 40 g tank whit Uber flex 50 and got a cheap electric from amazonpowryte the been working really good to o
Smart idea 💡 how long did that take?
What adapters are you using and what size shut off valve ?
Where does the empty water cartridge come into play?
@@NOSS_EXTD its filled with with di resin lol, not empty.
@Sanhozay ahh, i was confused because there's 2 blue ones in the vid but there's 1 clear/white one in the description.
@Sanhozay but how many times can u fill up that 35gal tank with one refill of the beads?
@@NOSS_EXTDThe color of the canister doesn’t matter, they have blue and the clear that are the same thing just different color. I have 2.5x10” canister i fill the resin with that goes into the tanks. And i usually get 5-6 tank fill ups before needing to change out the resin. You can get resin pre packed in the cartridges but that can get pricey
What part number is this?
How many car can u wash with a 40 gallons?
Nice ! been looking at systems and wow $500 + . Like the DIY approach 👍
I take a couple 5 gallon buckets to my local grocery store and use the Reverse Osmosis (RO) drinking water dispenser to fill the buckets with 002 TDS water. Cost me $2.50 per 5-gallon bucket.
Sick! How many washes do you get out of 1 bag of resin?
Silly question if you are filling a tank why not use RO and DI? I was looking at the spotless booster not to buy ha but RO makes resin last so much longer.
How many cars can you wash
Pretty nice setup! I’m considering the Eibach spring for my Maverick. Congrats from Brazil
Eu tb meu queridooo kkkk
How gallon water tank do you have?
what is the pressure washer plugged into?
I have a hybrid maverick as well with a truck bed power outlet! I turn on the truck and it’ll be able to be powered
So what exactly is this for?
It's to remove the minerals, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) from your water so you don't get water spots left behind.
I just rn saw the description thank you
Can you send me the link to purchase the materials bad ass set up btw or point me in the right direction to go about this set up thank you 🔥
Strapping it to a dolly was a nice touch 👌
water pump ? link ?
No water pump used, water flows down using gravity. Intake on pressure washer is just a tad bit lower than the tank’s valve opening so it flows downwards
For all those who have been asking, I'll be posting a new video hopefully sometime soon to explain how this set up works more thoroughly and in detail. Been super busy with work so please bear with me!
Nice little set up 👌 I use a Kranzle for my home unit
You’ll be going through filters like crazy and crazy money
It does get pricey but its cheaper than every other alternative i've tried in the past. Each filter refill costs around $20 and lasts about 300 gallons until it hits around 25ppm. With my 35 gallon tank thats every 6-9 fills. I can do 2 cars on average with a 35 gal tank.
@@Sanhozaysounds like you got the numbers worked out..do you find 25 ppm still gives you spot free water? why don’t you try and set it up so that you’re only using your deionized water for the final rinse? That way you’re not using it for the whole process and can exponentially extend the filters. I’m having a unit built for myself. It will hold about 40 pounds of the resin with a bypass on it so I will only use it for the final rinse.
@@Sanhozay quickly that sounds like 23 washes for 20 bucks? If those numbers are accurate then maybe you’re onto something there I didn’t think those little filters lasted long at all. I’m surprised you’re getting that many gallons out of them.?
@@eastcoastlife3547 Forgot to mention that im actually also using 2 pre-filters, one is an inline rv filter (blue camco) and the other a carbon solid block (green clear2o). That helps reduce the tds significantly.
nice set up
thank you!
@@Sanhozay no doubt 💪🏽💯
Do you need to use a water pump?
WHERE did you get the metal straps for the tank ??
Here ya goo www.ntotank.com/band-for-norwesco-35gallon-horizontal-leg-tank-x6434935
Whats your power set up?
bro you gotta talk
How are you currently filling your tank? Unscrewing the top and running a hose in there ? Or using flexilla hose you have going to the pressure washer?
Yessir through the top
What size tank
My guess is 40
35
How many cars you clean
Really loved this in depth tutorial
😂
Right, couldn’t have asked for anything better 💯
So do you need a generator to run that stuff?
Any power source will work but yeah I take a generator around with me to the jobs
Is this compatible with a foam cannon?
I like it. It's not slammed, just enough to get rid of the big factory wheel gaps.
Thanks, it was exactly what I was hoping for. Perfect blend of looks and functionality.
What is the black hose you are using from the pressure to the reel?
I got it off amazon a.co/d/gyhpSlv
are you using a water pump
No this is gravity fed
Does having a shorter water hose work better than long when doing gravity fed ?
@@tylyd5439not necessarily, it may take longer for the water to feed through on a longer hose. But as long as the water supply stays higher than the hose then water will flow down out the hose, regardless of length. I have two 3 ft hoses connected together (couldnt find a 6 ft flexzilla hose)
What is your power source?
I have a 2000 watt generator, but sometimes ask clients to use an outlet when at their house
Why not man up and get a gas powered machine?
@@catlady8324do you know what a generator is😂
What kinda fitting did you get between the reel to the pressure washer
Mine is a 2ft pressure washer hose from Amazon. There are multiple sizes though www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09C1L4ZK9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
@sanhozey What's the name brand of the filters? Can't see the description bud
No name, this is a DIY setup. All parts can be found on amazon and are in the description (shortened links)
What peice is the first brass piece coming out the tank that connects to the valve?
Its just a 3/4" male to female brass elbow connector from Lowes
Hello, I purchased the same set up expect I am having trouble petting it together. Which one goes first and could you help me know which price goes where? Thank you!
Huh??
Camber issues with lowering springs?
None, I got camber bolts for the front but ended up not needing them. Even front to back and very sublte
My ‘24 eco fwd on eibachs needed the camber adjusted 🤷🏻♂️ I guess it’s hit or miss
Planning on buying those wheels for my Mazda 3 but dam they also look nice on a pick up wtf 😭🔥
Hello! I’m interested on the details on how the type of pressure washer. I’m sure it’s electric. What’s the brand? Do you recommend it? Where can I get it from? Also, do you hook up from the customer house for power for the washer? Thanks a lot!!!
Hey there, so the pressure washer is an electric Greenworks 2000psi 1.1 gpm, I will link the exact one at the bottom of this comment. And I personally think its an amazing pressure washer for the price, especially the fact that I have had it in use since summer 2022 and have done at least 400+ washes using this one. I personally got mine from their website so I can claim a warranty (3 years) if needed). As for power, I typically bring my generator along with me but I always ask the client if they may have an outlet I can use so I can keep the noise levels down. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much!!!!! Good luck on everything!
@@dair805 I just realized I never linked the pressure washer, so here ya go! www.greenworkstools.com/collections/2000-psi-pressure-washers/products/2000-psi-1-1-gpm-cold-water-electric-pressure-washer-green-frame
Hey buddy in this video you had connected the pressure washer in a client outlet? I was wondering because I don’t hear noise from generators..
Awesome where do you get this filtration setup? Im not seeing it in the description?
Built by yours truly. All parts can be found on amazon and are in the description (shortened links)
Just good memories with skrillex ❤
Yo fam maybe u can help me solve this issues I’m having I had multiple ppl even Mexicans n can’t help me figure it out 😅😂 so I got a 55 gallon tank back of my pick up truck n I’m trying to do mobile wash where I can connect my commercial pressure washer not big but it’s gas powered n all but for some reason it’s not having enough force in the water pressure what do u think I need? I even bought water pump to put between tank n presser washer but no help idk how r all this other ppl r doing their tank work n I’m having issues that I can’t solve n I have ppl hitting me up for car wash but I need this solved asap
Are you letting the pump on the pressure washer prime at all? When i say prime i mean like giving it some time to allow the pump to fill up. What I do is disconnect my hose from the pressure washer (it has a quick connect on the hose) and open the tank valve so the water releases and has a strong flow, then I stick it in the pressure washer while water is flowing out the hose. I have noticed that initial flow of water helps fill up the pump in the pressure washer. It could also be the pressure washer also…
@@Sanhozay my pump i bought from harbor freight i connected that to my tank n outlet section to my pressure washer but no luck I’m using yahama pressure washer
@@Sanhozay umm not sure about anything ma bad this shit is new to me like everything so maybe do a video or would u need to record my pressure washer n set up so u can see n maybe help me figure out because I just need this shit solved idk y im having hard time
Air out the pressure washer
Yess, works great and faster when you take the pressure washer tip off while doing it.@@toptouchautodetailing
