Me either, I have like 10 versions of this recipe, but have not seen the 2 kinds of sugar used in them…they look just like mine though, and I’m sure they are delicious too. Brown sugar is basically white sugar with a bit of molasses in it, so I’m not surprised that we can interchange the sugars in them. They are such a quick and delicious dessert.

Does it get any better or easier than no bake cookies!!..other than quick & easy & yummy, they are also pretty healthy.. one of the snacks i made for my 5 quite often.
I do use jiff xtra crunchy peanut butter because I like peanuts!! And sometimes i would add coconut for a different twist..so when we have a get together with my kids and my grandkids there is no question about it..Grandma will have no bake cookies for all to enjoy.
Thank you for your cooking show..I really enjoy you and your recipes..you have a great personality and presentation..Teresa

Actually my original recipe from my 1980 White Rose Cookbook (or perhaps it’s my Purity Cookbook, I forget now!) it lists “1 cup of coconut” as well as “3 cups of oats” and NO peanut butter added. I made it this way for years and years, and then I started to see peanut butter added to it and no coconut in them. Regardless, they are amazing cookies. I even saw one video tonight where she pours it all on a large cookie sheet, lets it cool down, and then cuts them in bars. Have not tried it that way yet though….same recipe as yours minus the brown sugar! :)

Oh yeah?! That's so awesome, thanks! I'm looking forward to your take on this dish! A few tips to point you in the right direction! There are a few ways to make it, but the best way is to make the Gooey Butter cake layer rich, and creamy with a thinner spongy crust. The more filling, the better, and don't overcook; it dries too easy. I bet that it would be great with a graham cracker or shortbread crust, too! Combining apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and mace in a skillet will take it to another level! Lemon is also a great flavor!

Sam, I used to make them starting at the age of 7(with adult standing by 😉).... My Gramma always put about 2Tlbs.of Corn Syrup in the mix, too 😁...I guess for "glossiness"??? Lol....not sure why, but I've always added that 😉....and I've never used Brown Sugar; just white sugar. I'm really liking the combo you use, 1/2 granulated & 1/2 brown sugar, to your recipes. Gives recipes a more "Rich" flavor. I LOVE the taste of brown sugar 🤎😁😉

I’ve been making these forever, but the first time I see 1 cup of white and 1 cup of brown sugar. Mine states 2 c of white sugar. It’s good to know b/c you never know when you run out of one sugar that they are interchangeable within the recipe. They look just like mine, nice and shiny. **ladies, if you over cook them, they will be dry and crumbly. The taste is the same pretty much, but done the right way, they have a nice chewiness to them…best of luck…super good.
