When a power-crazed despot schemes to buy California from Mexico, it takes two Zorros--the legendary Don Diego de la Vega (Anthony Hopkins) and his chosen successor Alejandro Murrieta (Antonio Banderas), a dashing bandit-turned-hero-- to defeat the tyrant's unscrupulous plans. But can even their combined skills, bravado and derring-do be enough to achieve de la Vega's ultimate goal: revenge against the man who killed his wife, kidnapped his daughter and held him prisoner for twenty years? - Фільми й анімація
Glad people still remember this movie
Indeed. But I wish it is remembered more than it actually it. Its a masterpiece
Of course! It’s a great movie. 😊
I think the problem is not enough people have seen this movie. Tho, the people that have are likely to remember it (great film).
Anthony Hopkins is so good here, I feel this opening could have been a whole movie with the arrest being the cliffhanger ending and the main story of this film being the part 2 movie.
so true, wish it was
You know what I love about this scene. You can tell Diego is having his cheeky fun. The rush of all this. You can even make out a small smile when he's fighting Raphael.
Yet its there in his arrogance that he loses his wife and I think he does not forgive himself for that in the whole movie.
I think he laughs because he knows he is a better swordsman than Rafael. But he was an idiot when he freed himself to attack Rafael, he should have fled so that the soldiers would follow him and forget about his family

I agree.
That secret entrence is so awesome... Zorro was the original batman, like batman before the technology look at the fox' den, bat cave, no cars back then so Tornado is his batmobile, his father was like thomas wayne and diego like bruce they helped california originally part of mexico like the wayne's did gotham and zorro fights for california like batman fights for gotham, also the night bruce wayne parents were killed they were leaving a zorro movie they took a young bruce to see he loved zorro
Compared that to watching Disney Zorro. Diego was already Zorro at the time his father was still alive. Disney Zorro is a younger Diego compared to this Diego in this movie. Difference is Diego did not have to lose his parents to become a superhero unlike Bruce Wayne. Diego went to Spain to study abroad. In there, he also learned more then literature and poet. He also learned to fight. Going to Spain for Diego is almost like having Bruce Wayne to see Ra's Al Ghul for physical training. In a way, Bernardo was like Alfred but as for Diego's father, he was kept in the dark and Diego's father did eventually find out Diego's Zorro identity. Once he finds out, he stopped Diego from getting married. Diego's father was overprotective of his son's identity. The way how you see this current movie, this proves that Diego's father is right. Diego needs to remain single to keep his legacy alive. So I would assume in this movie, when Diego's father is no longer alive, Diego went against his father's way and gotten married and ended up having kids.
Who was the baby, that was the best baby acting ever
PSSh... I COULD DO BETTER...
Would love to see a 3rd movie of Alejandro’s son as the new Zorro and Jenna Ortega or Isabella Merced is the love interest. Be awesome to see Banderas as an old Zorro training his son to take his fathers mantle of the legendary Hispanic hero.
I actually wish they'd never even made that sequel. The Legend of Zorro was so focused on gratuitous violence rather than swordsmanship. Elena's character took a peculiar twist and none of the cast could compete with Hopkins's acting here.
@@grigorymatyunin1592 WTF Legend of Zorro was brilliant. Violence? Nahhhh
I vote for a third movie with your amazing description 🤩
The question is how Rafael went to the Hacienda de la Vega immediately after the incident.
I think two things:
1 He knew or suspected that Diego was the fox, these are years in which the fox made a mess of his operations, I suppose he would think that he was a nobleman and I suppose that by marrying Esperanza, Rafael would begin to hate Diego more than the fox and that is why He deduced that he was the fox.
2 He went to the Hacienda to say goodbye, saw that Diego had the wound and put it all together.
On the way to the mine, the windows of the carriage were closed, as Alejandro said, he doesn't even trust his masters. I suppose that Diego, like Zorro, thwarted Montero's operation after operation for years. Sooner or later, Rafael would think that one of the men he always told about his operations was the fox. Perhaps when Diego married Esperanza, Rafael thought about how he could choose him instead of Montero. He would think that maybe Diego is the fox.
Alejandro at the party behaves like an effete coward, something like Diego did.
@@danielmartinezmayoral6959 Even when Diego was young, he was also suspected of being Zorro. In this movie, it is just that no other family members are there to cover up his identity. Try comparing that to Disney Zorro. This whole thing was the reason why Diego's father did not even let his son get married because something like this would of ended his Zorro legacy. Diego's wife and kids cannot cover up compared to when he lived with his father Alejandro and a silent servant Benardo. Plus Diego used to have his silent muted partner Benardo to dress up as Zorro with Diego being present. So in this movie, this is not the young Diego. Young Diego would of had Benardo to cover for him and Diego's father would of been more over protective of Zorro's identity. So once Diego is married and had kids, Raphael would already suspect that Diego would have to care for them over himself. Plus Raphael viewed Diego as a guy who took his fiance. So Diego getting married especially if that woman was supposed to be Raphael's fiance is what exposed his secret. So when Diego's father is no longer alive, Diego must of went against his father and got married. This is pretty much a message that if Diego messed with Raphael's girl, he receives karma. So in a way, Diego's father is right. Zorro needs to remain single to keep that legacy going.
Eine fantastische Szene.👍😄📺
Best fight of the movie!

How did Raphael figure out Diego was Zorro? I know this is set in its own universe but it seems like Zorro had been messing with Raphael's plan's for awhile and if he knew he was all along why wait so long to arrest him?

you know this is a fiction since in real life she wouldve been married to Don Rafael instead of an early home good father/husband Don Diego de la Vega. anyway, good old movie.

I still don’t understand how Don Rafael figured out that Diego was Zorro. Touch his scratched arm and that’s proof? I feel like there had to be more than just that
it was during the balcony scene in the opening execution-rescue set-piece. Zorro addressed Don Raphael Montero as just "Raphael". That was when Raphael managed to connect the dots.
Probably the sword skill
Or maybe, just MAYBE, it has something to do with them having that whole conversation right in front of them.
😂😂 Seriously, how would Raphael fail to hear them speaking about Zorro's last ride. What, did they sneak up on them😅?
did you even watch the movie? He knows where he got his injury.

Banderas is currently as old as Hopkins was in this film. I say it's time for the next passing of the torch. Have Banderas train the next Zorro. Maybe someone like Oscar Isaac or Tom Holland. Or if you wanna go the panderingly woke route, Jenna Ortega is huge rn
All we need is the real Zorro story to a movie we all know that Diego De la Vega is the real Zorro and he has going through many things during his career as the legendary vigilante so no a Zorro 3 but Zorro's origins movie with a young latin actor for the part
@@gjkirbymartell. Diego Luna doesn't seem like someone who can pull off Zorro's charm also Diego De la Vega is Spaniard so a Spanish actor the best
