Output of the microphone connected to an Art USB Dual Pre, connected to a Dell desktop computer using Windows 7 Professional. Software used: Cubase 5.
Guitar: 2012 Fender American Standard Stratocaster (Sienna Sunburst finish with one piece maple neck and fretboard, Ash body and Fender Custom Shop Fat 50s pickups)
Pedals: Stock Ibanez TS9 Tubescreamer
Amp settings: Clean channel, without bright switch Volume: 3 Treble: 7 Bass: 4 Middle: 4 Reverb 4 Presence: 7
Pedal settings: Drive: 2 o'clock Tone: 9 o'clock Level: 12 o'clock

excellent playing, it hard to believe your actually playing. But you can't deny your eyes, and ears, great job. Your to young to have grown up listening SRV. Most young people trying to play these classic rock songs, just don't have the feel for it, as you do. Don't listen to the negative comments, it just jealousy. Keep on rocking kid, Yeah!!

Just reading the comments, definitely you've got a gift. This song was Stevie's and no matter how you play it: anyone it will not replicate SRV. He somehow played them rifts in harmony, like no other-in a way that can never be bettered. In my humble opinion

its a 12 bar F# major blues, I just listened to the song a lot, played it a lot and learnt some essential SRV licks. Practice makes perfect!

Maybe switch to 11 gauge strings and get a different amp. Other than that you did great! It sounds a lot like his play style.

+Savana Green SRV rarely used that and only to boost signal. He got most of his distorted tones by turning volumes all the way up and being super mean to the guitar with his right hand.
+John Bifulco that's me. if I want to get my dirty tones I just put my volume on 10 and adjust my amp.
