NO! This is why I'm back on this page. I hadn't heard either for ages but have loved them both & heard both versions countless times. So after reading comments like yours I started thinking it was the better version too. As I'm on a Marianne Faithful binge atm I thought maybe I should relisten to Lennon's version before just deciding to go with the "This is the better version' comments because this was sounding fantastic when I read comments during the 2nd play. So played both studio versions & then Lennon's Anthology version & then this again. By the time I heard the original version by Lennon I knew it Lennon's version is definitely better. I love this but Lennon puts his soul into his one just that bit more imo

I was trying to work out if some comments about this being the better version over Lennon's original. As I'm on a Marianne Faithful binge atm I thought maybe I should relisten to Lennon's version before just deciding to go with the "This is the better version' comments because this was sounding fantastic when I read comments during the 2nd play. He sound's , I don't know, I can't explain it but mabey it's like he spiuts the words & lives em as he says em, he puts strong feelings in it & I love this to but Lennon's! Can't be beaten, he wrote it, he owns it. imo Like I said I love this too & thought for a copuple of minutes it was the better. Because I hadn't heard either for to long only!
