- Marianne Faithfull - Live at L’Olympia, Paris 1966 (Come and Stay With Me, Plaisir D’Amour, As Tears Go By) [Full Set]
Marianne Faithfull performs “Come and Stay With Me”, “Plaisir D’Amour”, and “As Tears Go By” from her debut self-titled album live at L’Olympia, Paris in 1966 with guitarist Jon Mark at the Hugues Aufray concert alongside further supporting acts Nino Ferrer, Colette Chevrot, and Pascal Danel.
Beauty gone from the Earth. Never ending on this Earth.
Never rated her when I was a kid. Listen to the same songs now and realise how great they were.. It was Lucy Jordan that woke me up to how great a talent she always had been. ❤️
Mariannes voice was very lovely, when she was young, so was she. She appeared angellike. She was really unique. May God bless her and give her eternal peace.
That beautiful tremble in her voice - so special, so unique!!!
Vibrato.
RIP, Marianne...
No artifice, just a beautiful voice and perfect diction. She was exciting in my first year at University in 1965/66 and continues to be so all these years later. Just read that she has recovered from Covid-19. There are few singers today who could just walk up to a microphone with a single backing guitar and produce such MAGIC!
her father could learn languages and speak the with the local accent. Marianne has this ability by the sound of her beautiful voice, I think we were all in love with her in the 60s, I still come here for those memories.
@@pjmoseley243 Doit avoir aussi été la chanteuse préférée du président John Kennedy.
Sounds identical to the recordings.
Those were the days, my friend...we thought they'd never end......but they did, alas. But the great songs will remain forever, if only in our memories. Even when this world will have gone up in flames...now november 2023..
@@mfb3042 And at the same time obvious that she's not miming.
I met Marianne in 1996 and the beautiful smile is the same. She is a very lovely and gracious lady
Is she dude?
I was madly in love with marianne back in the day. Beautiful girl with a beautiful voice. Wonder what she could have accomplished if she did not make foolish choices. But I think we all have done the same in our own way.
So true
The important thing is she fought her demons and won, and we are all better because of it...
Very sweet. Watched her since 1965. G'day from Australia 🇦🇺.
Takes you out of this world.
She had a beautiful voice back then....haunting like an angel
So many of Marianne's TV performances back then were lipsynched - this sounds like a rare glimpse of her raw live pure TALENT back in the 60s! Such a natural artist! Such a shame all the recounts of the day were that her managers were only interested in her image.
Unique in every way. So beautifully simple in her performance. Magic.
Beautiful girl that turned into an even more beautiful woman.... Very distinctive voice. This was the year of my birth... How I wish I was born at least fifteen years earlier.... The sixties music was the soundtrack of a whole era.
I was born in 1950……I cannot explain the magnitude of love….thru music, poetry, etc, I experienced …..totally magical, …then
Viet nam, which brought on totally different protests……..but fantastic music and thought provoking ideas…….
Happy 75Th Birthday Marianne✌🏼💖🎂🎉🎁🎊
PLAISIR D .AMOUR.Beautiful the way she sings that song👍💖🙏💖
First heard this 💎 over 50 yrs ago when I was a young boy-a beautiful song sung by a beautiful ❤️ girl with a beautiful singing voice thanks for the post Auckland New Zealand 2021
brings back the Marianne I've always had a crush on for fifty years running✌😎
like wise Jerry her and Jane Birkin
Just Marianne for me.
Are these you came gave! Donald M. Cook
I was so in love with her.
Me too, and Carly Simon..
OH God such halcyon days!
just as I remember her and that voice, perfect crystal clear singing. I love how Marianne shows respect for the Audience as they applaud her. You dont find manners like that around these days.
What a stunningly beautiful girl she was.
@Rosida Andriyana Nah, should've married me - I would have looked after her better. Bet she broke her Father's heart.
So beautiful it hurts

Angelic voice so perfection
Her current voice open the door to anyone willing to listen & feel. She sings from her soul. I feel from my heart. Few are able equal to all of her songs. A voice created by pain. Don’t dismiss her heart & message. A voice of the ages
Thank you for your most sensitive direction as we hear.
Absolutely lovely her voice is angelic
As Tears Go By ... beautiful.
Unbelievable how it all worked in the sixties à L'Olympia in Paris... She alone, standing still face to crowds, modestly producing those melodies with her spiritual, femenine sort of northerner sounds...with her eyes wide open, as if she couldn't believe it, "do I really like you", she could be thinking, funny...a young girl, out of the blue throwned into the heart of the whirlwinds of Art and its big, eager money markets... Harrowing, she was, and suppose the whole parisian music lovers revered her. Well, we can see some of that. She marvelled everybody... how not? She is still touching, nowadays with her harsh and wise voice. Mariane manages to transmit, one way or another. Mariane Faithful means quality, in't it her?? 💜❤️🎶👌
La grande classe! Et son style unique.
I bought this on a 45 in 65, loved it then, love it even more now
Amazing, the first Voice of an Angel, before Charlotte came along.
Perhaps the most beautiful voice in popular music.

What a beautiful angel!!!!!!
Yeah, her voice really changed a lot over the decades - endless parties and more has taken it's tolls. She really was a cutie...
Markus R her voice reminds me of Judith Durham of the seekers
Really. Pls…….her voice change is not humorous nor should be compared to her former offerings….know what of which you speak…and, have you seen her recently in concert?…….I have in our botanic gardens…….a few times……we were all still mesmerized with her energy ….her “beingness”….I apologize if my tone is negative….I have always loved her for being herself
@@kimwells2749- People assume that artists who lose their range with time are at some sort of disadvantage. I never bothered with that shite, Marianne has always been a wonderful singer and interpreter of various styles of music.
Still listening in 2024.
An angel.
Love her voice...Very Unique!
Such a lovely voice with a beautiful trembling vibrato, and a great performance!
Uma voz única, naturalmente afinada, quase um recitativo que brota do íntimo, quase ancestral. Hipnótica, tocante.
Gosh her smile so sweet
what ?? no flashing lights, no fireworks, no shouting, no tats, no nose piercings. I must have the wrong channel. What a great singer loved her since she first appeared. She doesn't need all the razmataz.
Lovely Marianne 🙂
Perfection
Great Marianne.
Grandissima!
What a natural voice she had then
I wonder what she must think when she's see's clips like this
I saw Marianne live in the 60s ,she had Jon Mark the guitarist here with her. ....
myjulie60 You're a lucky person!
myjulie60 You are much fortunate ❤️
This is the year I was born and to this day Miss Faithful my guardian angle. To this day and beyond. Xxx
She's singing for me 🥰!!, must be 🎶🎤😁
Beautiful arrangements
Man she could really soon I’m so glad we have these videos
awesome indeed
I was a major Marianne Faithfull wannabe in the day. She introduced me to the wonderful world of British folk songs, including Childe ballads. I have been writing my own songs for decades now and seldom do covers. and yet, I can still sing some of the songs ( though nothing up on my channel except House of The Rising Sun ) she sang and remember them as if it were yesterday. I remember an interview with her once where she said there were many women her age and a little younger who showed up at shows with photos of them back in the day imitating her. so obvious I was not the only wannabe! One last word, see how she stands almost motionless as she sings, that sweet soprano and her beauty. Now the "stars" need their autotune and ghost singers and look used at a young age. Sad.
her father could learn languages and speak the with the local accent. Marianne has this ability by the sound of her beautiful voice, I think we were all in love with her in the 60s, I still come here for those memories, I still listen to her now, she is a beautiful soul.
How do I find your channel to hear your cover of House of the Rising Sun?
I loved her voice; drop-dead gorgeous woman!!! --------------------------WolfSky9
En sus inicios,
Realmente formidable!!!
Lovely, Why do today's pop stars refuse to sound like this?
Because they can't sing....
Great version of Tears.
Smoorverliefd was ik op Marianne!
Lovely
Beautiful!!
Beautiful ⚘
Thank you ET :)
vraiment qu'elle voix merveileuse méme plus incroyable
Some thought the girl singers were not as important as the guys. I love her here and her first sing career was four memorable year.
God I love her
Par excellence.
Thanks..have this on a DVD..but couldnt upload for some reason... now Ican dump the dvd :)
I love folk guitar 💖💖
Love u song beautiful queen..☺️
Even though her voice lost its freshness and its range she has reinvented the way she sings given her diminished resources.
she did manage to finally pull threw =I am so glad she did !
She outgrew any talent that she had...and should have known when to stop

Does anybody know where I can get this album- I thought I had all her stuff, had to go to the oddest places over the years to ferret discs out but she is worth it. I adore her. Any book she has recommended and music- helped me when I was sick too (check out Shantaram- magnificent read)

This is off the record Marianne Faitfull Om French tv
I was 9 !
I love the early stuff but I prefer Marianne's gruffer vocal range she developed as the '70s progressed like on 'Faithless' and then in the masterpiece 'Broken English.'
Broken English is one of the best albums ever BUT this is the Marianne I fell in love with

Back in 1965, I was lucky enough to have a girlfriend who was the spitting image of Marianne. Her name..Linda Olds.!!!
I drove her cars !
When MUSIC was beautiful and understandable.............. no wonder the kids today are so FOULED up ... just listen to their music ... no melody, no rhythm, filthy words, and NO feeling. We were the luckiest generation that was ever born... we had it all... Born after WW2 to real parents that loved us and raised us with moms at home. We learned DISCIPLINE and our morals were still intact for the most part. GOD was first in our lives along with GOOD educations and LOVE. Thank YOU LORD !
She was "unique"
Such a nice voice at the beginning. Later on it changed completely. Sad.
No wonder I had a mighty crush on this gorgeous young and talented lady. Too bad she got hooked up to Richards and Jagger of the stones, drugs in large quantities, and later troubles in life. Still a sweety at 77.
First a lovely nieve good Catholic girl 👧👌, then she met jagger 😝!?,
💋💋❤️❤️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👏🎶🎤🌹

“Marianne with the shaky hands . . . “
SOFT VELVET VOICE... no one like her since.
she is very unique.
Like joni mitchell cigarettes were not her vocal chords best friend. I cant stand mick jagger, treating women like toys. Now a toy ballarina. He hung out at epstiens also.
It was her choice lady she did what she wanted to do nothing more to read into.

Heroin deepens and roughens the voice : A voice that many heroin users share. Their voice sounds raspy, hoarse, tired, and emotionless. Their speech pattern is slowed down, and their voice lowers in pitch, and almost falters and breaks mid-word. Still she battles on .
I am not enjoying this performance. Her voice has qualities but perhaps her nervousness over took her?
Its the tremor in her voice that is her selling point. ua-cam.com/video/EWw-Ohh04hU/v-deo.html
A beautiful performance

Omg sucks so bad? Wtf
