    Holy Crap. I watched all your videos and normally come back when I am painting mine. The alternate gave me a headache just to look at it lol

    Love the variants, that adds so much to a group of enemies with the same model. Gorgeous work.

      Thanks! I think it's good to show you don't have to follow the official artwork to get something cool, and using all the same techniques just different colours :)

    Very awesome.. These minis became fun to experiment with trying new techniques and color combos.

    Painting my Kellers keep mini's. Came back for a reminder as busy few months.
    THOUGH need to say, using this method I painted one as Flounder (Little Mermaid), one as Marlin (Finding Nemo) and as Luca (Luca).
    My journey continues...

      Haha that sounds fun. I love that for these guys, just throwing in some silly fishy homages haha.

    Man, been waiting for this video for a long time! Fantastic paint job dude, looks professional with no effort. The alternate sculpt is crazy, love the added purple - it blends well with the rest. Great video as always!

      Glad I can fill some of the void for minis/sculpts that seem to get glossed over when it comes to painting tutorials. Seems sometimes that half a games minis just don't get the love (maybe for the algorithm ;p).

      I ended up trying something a little bit different, frostheart is a bit too bright in my opinion so i did a layer of space wolves grey first to darken it a little bit or at least give it a grayish undertone and it worked very well, it’s a little bit more like a shark blue. Not entirely sure if it gives the right idea but i’m satisfied with the result

    I'm taking the chance for the 3 fish things to practice diff techniques (mini is great for wet blending) and colour schemes. Keeping an eye on my potential tyrannid colour scheme which I cannot decide.

      That's a great way to tackle the backlog while strategizing for what's next. I do that too, whether with reference or minis I have, "cross training" between haha.

    I really like the belly skin technique, looks great and will work well on Lizardmen type mnis.

    Looks great man.!
    I have been painting with layer and base paint, almost exclusively, and only using contrast as an extra part on some things. But then again im new to painting minis.
    I think i will try to use contrast paint some more in mobs. Just to speed up the pint time a bit.

      Absolutely :) Nothing wrong with learning the true basics of building up colour/shade/form, that's how I started. These new paints are definitely time savers, but I don't think I'll ever use them exclusively.

    Great stuff. The Abominations have such a divergent look to the rest of the line, it was cool to see your take really explore that and embrace their uniqueness. I mean, I will always prefer the design of the classic Fimir, but licenses are a thing, eh?

    • @notyourmothershobbies
      @notyourmothershobbies  Рік тому

      Yeah, honestly I'm with you there. The Fimir are such an more interesting looking creature. It's very distinct, can't miss it, and I liked it for that. Oh well, fish people it is haha.

    What contrast colour did you use for the warmer one?

    • @notyourmothershobbies
      @notyourmothershobbies  9 місяців тому

      It's been awhile but I'll give it a shot remembering hah. I think for the Magikarp I used fuegan orange, and for the other green one I used dark angels green for the chitin and mantis warriors green for the skin. Hope that helps!

      Originally they were only available from the 2021 pre-order campaign. Now you can get them from the Prophecy of Telor and the Spirit Queen's Torment expansions.
