On my Spirit Prison I painted the underside of the transparent part with watered down partial layers of SpeedPaints Purple Swarm, Tidal Wave, and Plasmatic Bolt and layered them a dozen or so times. Then I mounted a LED underneath. With that many imperfect layers of colors, it diffuses the glow and provides an interesting color.

The distressed/weathered bronze looks amazing 👏 and the ghost box is waaay cool!

The minis in these HQ releases are great. Can use them in Frostgrave as well. Nice paint job! Oh, this is the same character as the "Commander" box characters? Are the cards the same? They don't show them in BGG.

I love these videos, I've been following along painting the majority of my Heroquest miniatures to match your guide. Do you think it would work if I used a skin glaze on the flesh of a spectre and some other glaze for the clothes?

Oh man does this bring back some wonderful memories I had that same mini box set I got it for Christmas as i high school student I love Dragon lance and Larry Elmore has always been my favorite fantasy artist since the Red Box D&D set. My favorite mini would have be the first one I ever bought which was a ninja from the old Grenadier line and from this box set Raistlin and Lord Soth

Amazing work as always! Thanks to you I've been able to work through all the game system box (+ mythic level extras) and I'm now making my way through the expansions. Before this I'd only ever painted Marvel United figures and your videos have helped me take my painting to the next level! So grateful for you sharing your knowledge. Two quick questions: 1) what varnish do you recommend? I've been using brush on varnish but I'm considering going to spray. 2) What colors would you recommend using to apply this same technique to the translucent figures from Prophecy/Spirit Queen (I got copies of both before getting my hands on the mythic level extras)?

I actually think this is one of the more interesting minis - I really like the surface contrast between the cloak and belt and chain male. Its a very inspiring sculpt and you did a great job painting it!
