Epoxy is challenging to ship because chemicals are involved. You cant just put a pot in a box and ship it across the globe. The costs for small shipments are not feasible. So you would need to order by bulk and incu all the costs. This is where most people do not want to get involved unless they have their own big projects
Excellent video! My epoxy flooring has rough surface. I suspect it is due to poor surface preparation, as I can see some dirt and pebbles on the the flooring. Is there anyway to rectify this? Will recoating extra layers of epoxy help?
Thanks. I suggest before re-coating that you grind out the pebbles and dirt, and patch up any holes. Wipe the dust well and then re-coat. With each additional coat your floor should improve, but proper preparation is important!
Hi there I hope you can help ! My garage floor was all done and prep’d properly but nearly three weeks later and what we’re experiencing is the coating is lifting under my parked car tyres overnight, as I said it was all done properly what’s the problem.
For a coating to start peeling under the tires, this quickly it means either the grinding of the substrate was inadequate, or the surface was not primed properly
Quick questions: How long should spin the mixture with the electric mixer? Can a pressure washer and small orbital sander prep a garage (120sqf) floor that is in pretty good condition?
Aim for at least 2 minutes of mixing at a slow speed. Yes a pressure washer and sander is fine for a small garage. I assume its residential so there won't be much traffic
I did mistake number 4... My whole garage floor is full of streaks- whole thing. I didn’t know you want to really soak the roller, I painted it like paint. My question is, is there any way I can go buy and add 1 more coat of epoxy over it (this time more evenly) to mask the streaks? Or will the streaks continue to be just as prevalent?
Go for shorter spikes, these are more convenient for epoxy. Longer spikes are used for cementitious applications where the screed is thicker. As for the width, if you are working in small areas with lots of rooms, you want a narrow roller so that you can access all the difficult areas as bubbles tend to appear near walls. If you have large open surfaces use a wide roller like a 45 or 60cm (18-24inch) as they are far more productive
I have a problem where the people who put the Epoxy floor coating in the garage extended the coating beyond the garage door. Over the years, the sun has damaged the Apoxsee coding and cost it to chip. Now it looks very jaggery along the garage line. I am wondering if there is a way to maybe tape a line and use something to remove the Apoxsee whether it be a sander or is there some liquid that would dissolve it? It just looks horribleFrom the outside. The inside of the garage is still in really good shape. We cannot get anyone to fix it because they have told us it is not that big of a job, and really would not pay for them to do it. I am just trying to figure out how to correct it. The original company that put the floor down it’s no longer in business perhaps this is why
It normal for the coating outside to go yellow, chalk and fall apart. You would probably need to get a hand held sander and slowly remove the outdoor part
Over old mosaic you need to grind well to clean any dirt trapped between the stones. I tend to apply a runny epoxy primer to make sure that it will penetrate the surface properly. Then maybe a scrape & filler coat to fill all the gaps. Topcoat on top
@@learncoatings-epoxyfloorin9448 thank you so much.. but still my doubt is there any other chemicals which can penetrate mosaic other than runny epoxy primer..?
@@mericontechnologies989 there are suitable chemicals for mosaic and stone surfaces but they are not usually compatible with epoxy. So you would not be able to use it as a primer
As I mention repeatedly in many of my videos never ask for the ratio. Every company and manufacturer has different products different resins different hardeners

Always give 48 hours or more for the epoxy to cure. Also don't use cheap product. I did my garage with Epoxy Plus system. Came out amazing. I should have filled in the expansion joints a bit better but it still great
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us
You are welcome!

Yes we can give you a certificate once we have evidence that you have completed the course

Yes this can be done and a 2nd coat always improves the appearance. Also you could try back rolling at a right angle to get a smoother finish
We screw up on an epoxy project by not properly mixing. It was a costly lesson.
Yeah it still happens even with the best contractors

How long would you recommend them? We have one that is 13mm, but it splashes on the walls. And I think it would be better with shorter than that?

Epoxy has a long term tendency to yellow, especially if it is exposed to sunlight. You need to recoat the white area

What type of painted floor? Polyurethane may damage the floor underneath if it is not compatible
@@learncoatings-epoxyfloorin9448 not at all sure. I bought the house like it. All I can tell you is the paint is gray, non glossy and it peels easy.

Well I can’t epoxy my basement floors then because they are painted instead and grinding hard to reach corners would be too difficult.
There are also handheld grinders that can reach edges

what about epoxy on wood flooring ? sand it and follow rules?
Not a fan of epoxy on wood flooring. Wood is flexible and epoxy is quite rigid. You may get cracks
That will be mindblowing
wonderful
Do you sell material?
Yes we do but we are based in Greece. So we sell primarily to the EU and middle East. Where are you based? Our website is www.ktisis.eu

It depends on what you mean a normal floor. The best substrate for epoxy is power floated trowelled concrete
