Nice video. After watching your video, I decided to go with 5.5 inch risers with a pullback just to be safe. Instal was pretty straightforward. I do have the clutch cable routed stock, but seems tight. So, I installed a 4 inch clutch cable extension. All is well with final outcome. I learned a lot from your video.
I initially did the 5.5" risers with no issues and have decided to go to 6.5" I was on the fence about the wire extensions and after talking with a few others who have done it, it appears like there is enough slack in the wiring once you pull the excess signal wires from the hand controls. I pulled about half the slack when I put the 5.5" risers on and I have a ton of slack left in the wires still routed through the upper triple. I did source a stock lowrider upper clutch cable so I can keep the clutch routed through the upper triple clamp like stock. Video was a great help, thanks!
That's awesome man I'm glad it worked out for you I didn't realize the slack at first so I got the extension and it kind of looked tight when I was turning the bars but that good man
Hi @beckjacob, please could you confirm, with the 5.5" risers is no necessary to use wire extensions for the throttle and turn signals? All the original lines and wires works well with the 5.5" ? Thank you
Hi, Can you help me with the details of the extension that you adquired to install, I mean the cables... And in additiion, any issues adter with the clutch and brake modification?
Ok thanks.!, I think is the best idea for brake and clutch,,, but my point is related to the electrical cables,,, I´m trying to get the codes or serials to buy the cables here in Local HD in Chile, they says that dont have stock; I need to buy in USA, do you have the serials?:
There are only 2 types, and both work, there is a long one for ape hangers and short ones for risers. If you ask just for wire extensions, they'll know what you are talking about,
@@affyentertainment7418 is it because you feel you need more pullback? I am also 5'6" and thinking about those 6.5" risers, but if you need 8.5" then I am likely to benefit from it too.
Hi! Do you believe if with the 5.5" drag risers is no necessary the turn signals and throttle wires extensions? Thank you for the video, excellent work.
Where did you get the extension for the turn signal and throttle? I am installing my 6.5 riser 2" pull back and I think I will need those extensions. Link?
Can you tell me the exact size of the Bolts that fits in those risers. I have the same problem in my iron 883 and where we live we have a metric system
So, there is slack for the signal lines at the blinker. If you loosen the handlebar controls you can push about an inch or so through for those cables. After doing extensions, and see how the length plays out - do you think gaining that slack would have kept you from needing the extensions?
possibly yes but it might have a bit tight when turning the handle bars to the right, and honestly the extension are not that expensive $32 for both from HD dealer
Thanks for the video But your change your seat which is not a true comparison because the Saddleman moves your seating position back about one inch. It would've been nice to see you do both profile pics with the stock seat. Thank you for showing the process . Can you please list the parts# that you had to purchase?
you are right about the comparison pics I should have done both with stock seat, i was thinking about overall seat and raiser differences. the PN of the raisers are in the video and the bolts i just went to HD dealer they were $4 for 4 of them 5/16 and length is 1 1/4
Bout to do this. So u just needed turn signal extensions and throttle? Asking because i was told by the local parts guy at the dealer said the throttle cables are pretty long.
If you think you'll go taller risers or bars later on it is better to extend them all beside the control. But the throttle side is pretty tight I would change it it's only $20
Personally I wouldn't recommend drag specialties risers it's a very soft metal the threads get tore up easily and it just feels unsafe you get what you pay for id go with bung king or thrashin supply

Don't let the dealer sell it to you more than 17999 and you can have them throw in the first service 😉

Did the same risers on my FXLRS and it makes a great difference. I plan on going up to a 8.5" riser
That's my plan once I get the brake line and clutch line

@motoberraco turn signals you might be good but I'm not a 100%sure about the throttle
Please let me know if our 4 inch extension cables would be enough for the during signals thank you good job on it looks good

Drilled and tapped for 1/2"-13 riser bolts

Yes

Ebay
Hi... great video. Do you know if the same product will fit on 2021 Low Rider S?
I don't see why not, it fits most HDs no problem
What are the exact wire extension lengths you needed for the turn signals and throttle by wire? Did you need switch control extensions too?
I got the 12" ones for all of them cuz I know I was gonna change to apes which I did
Do you know if they will fit a 22 Fxlrs? Great video and very informative 👍
sorry im just seeing this
im sure it will they didn't change much asides from the gage relocations.
Did these risers end up helping out with the cramping between your shoulders? Just bought a low rider s and going through the same issue
It did but I was getting numbness on my arm so I ended up changing to mini apes but if you like the risers go with 9 inches

Probly but extensions aren't that expensive plus looks a lot more cleaner
