- Testing out the spitfire formula 4 “OG Classic” shape
& comparing them to the “Conical full” as well as weighing them next to each other along with the classic and conical shapes. Which wheel shape is best for you? - Розваги
i landed a backside flip today. just had to share.
Cool!
🤙
Damn, I'm glad over 100 people were stoked for me!
I actually haven't done one since then, as I've gotten a 10 inch deck and some shoes that ended up having a long toe box, so kickflips are way tougher.
Instead though, I've learned to manual ollie recently, and that feels super fun. And just about every boneless and no comply I can think of, too. I find every type of skating fun
You're the MVP for weighing all the wheels. Thanks for satisfying my inner nerd.
OG Classics in 99a is my go to now. I did have them in 97a but the streets would chew them up after a few sessions. 99a’s take a beating and the shape is perfect for just about everything. I knew you would dig them 💯🫡
I've just binged most of your videos today 👍🏻 what a channel for skateboarding 👊🏻 it's fantastic watching skateboarding from your view and what you can make skateable. I've only just started with my little girl and I'm in my 30s so you've opened up the whole world of skateboarding for us. Thank you dude.
Thank you for watching, man! That’s so cool to hear. Have fun!
I'm stoked I discovered OG Classics. I used to ride bones STF(V5) sidecuts. These r similar, but a bit Wider and Spitty F4s so better!
been obsessed with 90s skating recently & seeing that blank check board again pushed me over the edge lmao. I just got a REAL Flyer 8.7 OG football slick bottom; staring out my window til it gets here 😂
Try this shape next time, it’s so much fun.
Thank U 4 weighing these wheels!! Iv been up in the air about conicals & og's & haven't been able 2 find weights anywhere. U Rock!! Keep up the good work!!
Thank you for your review on the og classics. I’ve been thinking about getting either the bones x formula wheels or the og classics, but this video made me think about the og classics more.
Classics for life bro.
this is exactly the video i was looking for thank you
that nollie power slide thing was sick
OGs are my favorite shape. Great review.
Ur halfcab flips are so good man
Thanks dude! I try to keep that one handy since my flip trick bag is pretty small 😅
Awesome vid bro . Very helpful
Love watching your channel keeps me wanting to skate at 40 it's the only thing me and my son still could bond over he's 17 and I know I'm borrowed time to hang out wit him but a week before Christmas they stole my car and all our boards some presents i bought them I live paycheck to paycheck and idk if can replace our boards please pray to the skate gods for us
I’ve been skating OJs but maybe it’s time to give Spitfire another try. Thanks for the video, this is great content.
The OJ mini combo elites are one of my favorite wheels ever. That being said, I went back to spitfire just for shits and giggles and I don't think I'm gonna leave for a while.
great review, just what i was looking for between all these wheels
Glad I could help!
Solid info man thank you 🙌
Loved the crook power slide. Looks like you got the curb grinding smooth.
Yesir! Cant wait to get more of it 🧈
I've always liked the O.G. Classics. They remind me of the wheel shapes from the late 80's early 90's.
Yeah there’s something cool about them and the fact that they’re lighter is just a 🍒 on top
I have been using Andy Anderson nano cubes. They lock in nice, ride nice and cover your nuts. I also do freestyle along with street so it’s a specific app. Always skated some version of spitfire in the 90s.
The OGs are my favorite shape. Unfortunately, they were hard to find until this season's drop. I'll be happy to grab a set or two soon.
Yeah I think they rotate in and out, but imo they should always be in. Maybe swap em with tablets or conicals. I mean they’re called “OG classics” seems like they should be there.
@@dadboard they look a lot like the have really straight edges. Maybe not as much as the tablets but not far from it. As such if we’re playing substitutes I think the tablets should take a turn on the bench. But ideally we’d have access to them all.
@@RikRiorik100% agree. They’re not as pronounced as the tablets but certainly close
Regular conicals don't get enough love. OG Classics are sick too. OG Classics were my go to wheel, but they stopped making them for a few years. I got hooked on the regular conicals in that time
Recently got some concial fulls for the first time love how smooth they make my crusty drive way feel
You might want to checkout radial fulls in 97a too, those things just roll over pebbles
@@dadboard hopefully my local shops has them one day lol also awesome video as always bro
@@SkaterPoopyPantsthanks for watching, dude! Can always order online too, or ask your shop to order a set for you if you’re a diehard local supporter.
Nice to see you again Dad Board
I'm a radial full 56mm 97a fan, great for going really fast and rougher terrain!
However all F4 wheels are great quality!
I have those! They were a bit too bulky for how I regularly skate but I’ve been thinking of using them again on an alternate setup
I skated the conical full 52 mm and enjoyed it , I noticed increased stability for flatground tricks on set up I was able to do tricks while rolling really fast easier , started skating the classics in 51mm because of sewa's setup , now ive been skating bones STF 51mm 103a and love them they have a unique grip and feel , I had flatspotted some F4 spitfire classics withing a week while getting stuck on a pebble good so I switched to the bones back on now its my main wheel at the moment . I may give the spitfires a chance again but ive been enjoying bones stf's , I like the aesthetic of the pure white wheels , and when skating parks they clean themselves and look fresh
I was trying different wheel brands out for a while but I’m a spitfire loyalist now. Just can’t get into bones or OJ or any of the smaller brands
Try the Classic Full repeaters. 54mm very good wheel. Basically classics but a little wider
Love me some 58mm OG Classics. They are my fave wheel for transition on old pitted parks. I ride SPF P5 shape on newer glassy concrete. The shapes are not too dissimilar and TBH if Spitfire made 58mm OG's in 101 I'd probably pick them on the smooth stuff. There's something about that F4 urethane.
i wish you would have weighed the tablet shape too lol, great vid!
How about Spitfire Park Burners, remember those? Found a set of 60mm on ebay a couple years back!
Those rain spots are so good, keep getting out there. Is the spot with the bench a school? Shopping center?
It’s like a jr college type of thing. The ground is so good but those benches are scary af to me. Just a little too tall and they have those curbs next to them that always make it feel like you could get broke off and fall into one 😰
100% need our ledges to be clutter free, spot just looks so Cali smooth
I agree they look great! I like them more than the conical fulls. I'm still more of a Classics kinda guy though :)
Love the F4 OG shape. Rode some last year and haven’t been able to find any lately! Great wheel but hard to get your hands on.
They took them off the market for at least a year, I think the last drop reintroduced them. Check again!
Check in your local skate shops or skate shops online I’ve seen that’s where you’ll find them and not places like tactics or ccs
the OG classics are great.
I've been riding PiGs the past year like i did when i was a kid and it turns out i still love em.
rode pig wheels alot as a kid. back in early 2000s, now my go to is probably ojs or bones or powell, but just started skating a 48mm spitfire tablet wheel I love it
Smooth
Hey man, I've been thinking about getting some better parts, I have a spare set of decent bearings and I was looking at all these wheels they make. I was looking at the powell-peralta green dragons but they all look interesting. Spitfire has all the side profiles with names but the wheels look similar in materials. Both claim to have a formula developed over ten years. Anyway, the wheel I was going to buy is 56x36 or something like that. The width was like 2 millimeters more than the next size under. Do most wheels fit on the skateboard axles? My concern is that the nylon lock nut won't thread all the way. My trucks are all your basic 8" trucks, and I have like 2mm poking past the lock nut. You think I will have a problem getting wider wheels? I have 2 boards, one with 54mm and one with 52mm wheels on it now, and they're just your normal skinny tech wheel. I used to have some spitfires back in the day that I loved, they were called firelite cores or something...I got them down to the core and felt like, 'that was a good wheel'.
Wow might have to try new OG’s
They look really kewl for sure. I’d skate them if I could find them in the proper size.
Great content! I just got back on the board after years and have some 53/54 mm spitfires for the park which work well, and OJ cruisers for around my building and street , cuz without them It’s like I’m Stuck in glue.
I’ve tried to switch wheels mid session to work on different tricks etc, it’s never been optimal , but wondering will these OG 58mm be a good option for me? Appreciate it! Keep up the good work 🏆🛹🔥🫡📺💯
58mm is a big wheel, man! If you’re trying to pop your board and do flip tricks they may make it a bit harder also cause some unnecessarily wheelbite, but if it’s to cruise around on and skate transition they’ll be fine. What truck are you using with them?
@@dadboard appreciate the reply! I was going to put them on my new girl board from CCS being delivered this week
8.25, indie trucks 139 mm
coming with bones reds, and spitfire F4101 54 mm
, I found another park in my area with more surface area to cruise with less intimidating bowls, etc, maybe those 54mm will be best for that? I love my OJ wheels to cruise my city streets on my element complete from my local shop but feel heavy to try to flip etc as you said so looking for a middle ground .. do you think just getting in the flat pavement park as much as possible and getting my speed, balance up is going to be better for my progression? Or keep my daily city cruising and hit the park in another month or so ? 🫡🤞📺🛹
Ima try em
Curious how slappies would work with these being kind of squared off, any insight?
I’ve been seeing a lot of people say these mess with their tail and nose slides. How did your slides feel for you? The same, different? Im thinking about trying these out and just asking around.
I wonder how much my radial fulls weigh😂 I’ve just gotten used to how heavy they are
I Love all spitfire shapes tho but I tend to like the more square shapes great video !
Love the radial fulls! Ride them now for the first time.
Probably like 70g lol those things are massive. I kinda want to ride them again on an alternate setup though.
Congratulations. You've discovered the secret wheel.
My list goes
Og
Radial
Classic
Radial full
Conical
Tablet
Lock ins don't make the list because the beautiful black ring graphic that's also on the og is on the inside
Let the new year wheel madness begin😅
What do you think of OJ wheels? Ever skated them? Best wheels I’ve rode, Elite Hardline OJ Wheels. Smooth, most comparable shape would be the conical 4 I think.
I had some OJ elite something when I got back into skating a few years ago, mainly because Andrew cannon sold me on them when he was doing those NHS product videos on UA-cam. They were ok, but the next set I bought was some price point OJ’s called “from concentrate” or something and they literally started to fall apart in chunks within like 2 weeks. I’ll never support OJ again after that
Conical full 97A are by favorite wheels.
I didn’t know they made 97 in conical fulls, I’m sleepin.
I feel the thunder hollow lights are too light, especially with the classics. Should I try a conical full? I feel this might balance out the weight. I think I just need the board a tad heavier. Also, does the feel for tricks/riding feel way different?
Light trucks are not for everyone. I’ve heard a lot of people say they prefer to have some weight in their trucks so it’s all up to your preference. I didn’t notice any major differences in slides or riding aside from feeling faster from more surface area but the OG’s do lock you into grinds more
I can’t find the og classics anywhere?? Help?
Classics all day
OG classics are the best. Definitely look cooler than conicals and the graphic usually stays on too. Bought some as soon as they redropped this season and will probably grab another.
I need to like the look of my gear. Conical fulls have that beveled sidewall that just irritates me. On top of being heavier I’ll just stick with these as long as I can get them
SHEEEEEET on my 5.0s?
its Bones v3s for me!
bought some blue rip'ndip wheels while back... its a gamble but they were on sale for 10BUCKS! so....
Idk if it matters to you but apparently the dude who owns rip n dip is a massive piece of shit.
Are the big head logo ones Any different? Im currently riding those 52mm. Cant really complain, but not too great on rough streets
I can’t speak for any of those because I haven’t tried them but imo it’s worth it to spend an extra $10 and get F4 for the longevity
Ahhh gotcha deff not the same as those, i thought all spitfires were the same formula. Ill check out the F4s after these 👌🏾
Nice! Have you tried the powell dragons yet?
I did. Right when they came out I bought some because Roger sold me on them. They were good for what they claim to do but after a few weeks they lost their allure and I missed the bark of F4
@@dadboard right on. I might be going through that same thing.
I like the 99a Conicals and 97a Classics Edit: after watching the video, I might give them a try
i just look for the cheapest wheels and hope they have a decent shape, lol. but i've only tried two shapes so far in my two years skating. one conical one regular.
So thankful you didnt go full Ben Degros on us with this one 😂
Weighing shit is about as good as I can do.
@@dadboard that's further than I would go. I test whether I can powerslide on them, noseslide/tail slide and if I'm able to flip by board still. If the wheels check all 3 boxes, I'm shredding them. If not, I donate.
Pogos and spacewalk lol I know who that's for 😅
Why did you put the wheels with the pattern inside? What's the point?
ua-cam.com/video/Kgdr2uytpDI/v-deo.htmlsi=C7l8hCZd0lqniKxV
@@dadboard Okay, is the cutout on both sides of these wheels the same? Is there any difference in which side to put?
I had some bones 100s back in 2006. Are they the ogs?
Bones100s flat spotted easy on me. best to spend the extra cash on their stf or Spitfires.
Bones100s flat spotted easy on me. best to spend the extra cash on their stf or Spitfires.
Just when you thought your madness was over….
Lol I was doing better for a while but yeah, I’m having to swap out trucks next because I keep hitting the kingpin on my thunders 😞 time to fuck my WB all up again
@@dadboard Ace hollows!!
I like heavy set ups.
I respect it
Science
I just got 58mm classics original formula ..not f4s .. wide wheels are trendy rn
F4 OG classics are the best wheel ever
What"s your grief wiith the X97 ? You tested them and no more news
I bought a set, and they're a game changer, less peeble blocks, and softer landings, so why did you quit them, dude ? Please explain
I may have mentioned it in a video but I got bored really fast with them. Felt like dragons 2.0. They’re great if you want a softer wheel but I’m just a spitfire loyalist these days.
@@dadboard These OG classics look great, we'll see if flatspots go easily on them 😎
I need new wheels
Yooooo
Yoooooo
5 grams difference between a classic and a conical full. That’s the same weight as 1 letter size sheet of paper.
DOOM!!!
