A little correction. Here is a link to the photos that are supposed to be the in video for the sleepwalk settings on the re-20 and mystery brain. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxIbNxrQGEyIXppwj84OcP1d24l-LGQIy1
Myself I always end up going back to the 301. That said I have the RE-20 as well and can’t fault it for the money. In the hands of someone like yourself you can make them all sing. Mere mortals like myself need all the help I can get hence bring on the 301. Great video
Interesting - but curious why you didn’t include the pre-amp of the Mystery Brain (I didn’t see the light on), as it’s part of the “secret sauce” that Setzer uses through his 301? Also, you can get a mild chorusing effect through the manipulation of the speed and depth knobs? Great video!
Thanks for the comment. Yeah in the photo I put up It looks like the light isn't on, but it was. The light I used to take the photo was a little too bright and kinda washed away the preamp light from showing up. You can see the faintest of purple if you really zoom in lol. Yeah you can kinda can get that chorus effect, if applied too much it sounds like tape drag, especially on a slower delay setting like the 'sleepwalk' setting. That's why I end up just shutting it off if I play that tune or anything else with a slower delay. Thanks again, Cheers!
I’ve never played through it but from what I understand it’s basically the same with some tweaks that make closer to the original 201 i.e. tape flutter, better decay a 4th play head setting. But it still doesn’t have the pre amp chip from the 301.
hello my friend, superb video thank you.. would you have the parameter on the re 20 boss to play sleepwak.., I saw there is only one parameter to play all the different songs thank you my friend

Great video, thanks!
You’re welcome, thank you!
Honestly, they all do the job and sound good.
The Roland unit has a warmth that's a little more pleasing to the ear than the other units, but they all do the job nicely.

Thanks Richard, yeah I’m addicted to the 301 these days. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!

ok I'll take the 301, please. I don't need a bag.
lol!
The RE-301 comes out as far the best and the mystery brain sound very harsh to me.
Great video, how are your settings for sleepwalk?
Thanks. The photos of the pedals that are in the video are the settings that I used for each tune. Cheers!
Thanks! The photos of the pedals in the video show the settings I used for each tune. Cheers!
What are your thoughts on RE 202?
I’ve never played through it but from what I understand it’s basically the same with some tweaks that make closer to the original 201 i.e. tape flutter, better decay a 4th play head setting. But it still doesn’t have the pre amp chip from the 301.
Does a preamp make a big difference? @@theteledynes
Nice compression with the 301. I gues it's due to the tape?
Yeah the tape really evens things out a bit and adds a bit more “warmth” in my opinion. Thanks for the comment!

Hi,for the RE-20 slapback sound...the Mode selector is at the 1 or 2 repeat mode?
For the Rockabilly setting I set it to 2. That seems to work the best. Thanks!
