Join London broadcaster Clara Amfo as she produces a podcast that reflects and celebrates her visit to Vancouver, British Columbia on the west coast of Canada.
Clara has come to travel through British Columbia in search of experiencing a different pace of life. Locals describe Vancouver as a city that has it all. From downtown Vancouver, it is easy to go for a hike up the mountains, a swim in the ocean, or the hustle of the city.
While exploring Vancouver, Clara meets with a number of musicians to discuss the Vancouver music scene. Missy D describes Vancouver as a city for everyone. DJ Michael Red talks about how the rain is a main characteristic that dictates how people move and socialize, which is evident within Vancouver music. Sam Lucia and Geoff Millar of So Loki, talk about the rising Vancouver music scene and how musicians constantly strive to claim their spot on the mountain.
A gondola ride up the mountain exposes a whole other pace of life. Clara experiences ziplining down from the top of snowcapped Whistler Mountain. While on a hike in the forest with Candace Campo of Talaysay Tours, Clara learns about the Squamish First Nations people and the importance of having a strong connection to the land.
