American English is a rhotic accent, meaning we pronounce all "R"s even in the middle and end of words. England is considered "non-rhotic" where "R"s are dropped except for the beginning of words and cerain defined places. The interesting thing is that people in the Americans actually sound closer to what British English sounded at the time when the colonies were established. The modern British accent has evolved over the last 300 years to sound the way it does. There are also more variants in accents in the UK and Ireland than there are in the U.S.

@@delrey874 Britain made America that's why
@@CoolDude246-S I know. But the Brits seem very nice to Canada and Australia. But when they hate America, isn't it because of rivalry? American English is a rhotic accent, meaning we pronounce all "R"s even in the middle and end of words. England is considered "non-rhotic" where "R"s are dropped except for the beginning of words and cerain defined places. The interesting thing is that people in the Americans actually sound closer to what British English sounded at the time when the colonies were established. The modern British accent has evolved over the last 300 years to sound the way it does. There are also more variants in accents in the UK and Ireland than there are in the U.S.
