PlantPure Nation tells the story of three people on a quest to spread the message of one of the most important health breakthroughs of all time. After nutritional scientist and author Dr. T. Colin Campbell speaks to the Kentucky legislature, his oldest son Nelson works with Kentucky State Representative Tom Riner to propose a pilot program documenting the health benefits of a plant-based diet. Through this well intentioned effort, they inadvertently set in motion a series of events that expose powerful forces opposed to the diet. After industry lobbyists kill the pilot program, Nelson decides to try his own grassroots approach in his hometown of Mebane, North Carolina, before circling back to Kentucky for a dramatic ending.
A growing number of celebrities, athletes, TV hosts, and nutrition experts have promoted the plant-based diet in the past few years, and tens of thousands of people have documented their personal success stories. But as more doctors and public officials become aware of the healing power of plant-based nutrition the question arises: Why don’t they share the information with the public? Tragically, there have been few official medical or state-sponsored efforts in the nation to support the life sustaining benefits of a whole foods plant-based diet.
PlantPure Nation was filmed across the USA and includes world-renowned experts, doctors and authors. The Production team includes Director Nelson Campbell, and Producer John Corry & Writer Lee Fulkerson from the acclaimed documentary film Forks Over Knives.
I was Vegetarian by birth, born in Kenya and of Indian origin. I ate meat at age 20 for social conformance after having to move to the UK. I developed High Blood Pressure etc. I gave up meat after a 3 month holiday in my native State of Gujarat in India. I saw 60 million people of Gujarat who did not have the health related issues of the USA. Upon return from holiday I gave up meat. I turned Vegan 10 years ago. At age 70 I feal like a 45 years old person.

There is politicians who wants it right. They are just not close to being in power. As long as the resbonsibility is the consumers, we will loose.
Consumers don't think for themselves anymore for the most part. Look at the sheeple lining up for their experimental vaccines! There's proof right there.
Just got my blood tests back. I’ve been plant based for seven months now. My doctor was impressed as she told me that I was no longer pre-diabetic, my cholesterol is down and my other good levels are up, (like b12 and D.) I left her office without a prescription. I am off all meds for stomach issues, pain and sleep. I feel great and am losing weight. I won’t go back to S.A.D.

I've been vegetarian (vegetables, cheeses and eggs) for 30 years and vegan (only vegetables) for 1 year.
My blood tests are good too (proteins, iron, calcium, D, B12). No problem at all ! Plant-based diet is safe.
Donald Waston (English Vegan Society Association) died in 2005, at 95 years old, after a 60 years plant-based diet. :D

My three children and I, then 19, 21, 22 and 56 switched to whole food plant based eating 7 years ago and we've never looked back. My one daughter is now an M.D and one other is in med school... these young people are the the face of the future, not only as parents who will raise plant based families but as professionals who will help others in living a healthy lifestyle. Our Canadian government has also made some positive steps in taking dairy off of our food guide...
My husband and I went plant based over a month ago. The difference is UNBELIEVABLE to us. Our pain is almost 100% gone. Inflammation is 100% gone. Mental fog has lifted. More energy has come. No joke. Meat and dairy is exactly what is killing us coupled with the medications prescribed to alleviate the problems caused by industrial farming. Please....make the change today. Wow, I am SO HAPPY for you both! There's a youtube channel Dara Dubinet and her own DAD went 100% plant-strong when he was 85 a few years ago...all of his pain stopped too...took a few months but immediately, he noticed that his thinking was clearer and he had more energy! His name is Herbie and he's 89 now and feeling fabulous...it's NEVER too late!

I fell off badly with my eating habits, and I found myself to be addicted to the junk. I see it in my skin, thought patterns, even body odor, and it's not good. I just came across this video, and this is the third time in one week that I've read, or had a conversation about healthy eating. Sorry I'm talking so much, can't stop crying. I will do better starting right now. I have to.
Diets are individualistic. I have had similar improvements by doing the exact opposite. There are no one size fits all diets .
I am here because I want the truth. I've been blinded by the Keto/Paleo/ Carnivore for years. I made the change almost a month ago to Veganism. It's one of the best decisions I've made in years! I am tired of being lied too.
2022, JUST WENT VEGAN over a month ago. Fighting an underactive Thyroid, FINALLY left Dairy COMPLETELY alone about 2 weeks ago. THIS HAS to happen. Whole Foods Plant Based is the way to go. I'm also a BEAST in the kitchen so EVERYDAY I'm excited about eating..............the textures, the recipes, ALL the many plant choices...........it's an AMAZING blessing..........

Me too! I became vegan the summer of 2021. A woman told me I was "limited" but I haven't made the same recipe twice since then! I love cooking (and "uncooking" - preparing raw vegan meals). I'm such a foodie and I didn't gain an ounce. It's actually easier to stay at my goal weight being vegan (but I did it for the animals). My favorite dish so far was so easy. I had gluten free pasta and tossed sea vegetables in the sauce. It was fantastic and so filling!

Going on 4 years vegan. Now 27 years old, healthiest and strongest I've ever been in my life, down 40lbs and in normal BMI range for the first time since about age 8. Had very high cholesterol as a teenager, now all of my blood work is amazingly good. I experienced chest pains, exercise induced asthma, fatigue, etc as a teenager, and now I finally know what it feels like to be healthy and alive! Thank you to all the folks out there spreading this message of health, for ourselves, the animals and our planet!
I never understood why folks think that changing the government will actually change people. So much wasted time begging politicians to do something. It is so much more effective to take the ideas direct to the public and ignore the government like they did by doing their own study. Just keep making videos like this, they will do way more to change hearts and minds then some law. Kudos.
Since the rise of the internet in the last 10 years people are searching the term Vegan way more then they used to. Gives me hope. Also there are younger generations who completely ignore what the government does and don't care about politicians. Those are the hearts and minds that will change the future.

Actually, that's just not true. When government intervened in my country re cigarettes, taxing them heavily, only plain packaging with photos of the illnesses caused by smoking, hiding them away from sight in stores, strictly controlled sales to adults only, the number of smokers dropped and continued to drop over time. It is a public health issue as well as an addiction issue. The same goes for laws re food and government intervention. Both aspects are helpful, but legislation helps the ignorant and reluctant, and that improves health and stops the drain on the public purse.

I fully support the whole food plant-based diet and I’m excited about the fact that people don’t have to rely on medications for health and quality of life, but I think patients should keep their physicians informed of personal interventions being undertaken and perhaps wait to stop taking medications until the doctor deems them unnecessary. If anything, aside from personal safety, it would get physicians to realize how great the diet is for the general population because they know it’s working for their patients.

I would have never thought just letting go of the meat would cause that. I now know meat weighs you down physically,mentally and spiritually. I feel so much lighter! And WAY less brain fog 🥰. My family doctor is pushing plant based, and the book the China Study. I was already vegetarian. He said to help my inflammation to eat more plant diet. Now I am vegan for a few months, and funny my arm strength get better, (I used to lift weights) but most importantly, my arthritis in my hands is so much better. How many have an MD primary doctor who pushes a vegan diet? Probably very few or none. My doc is in CA.

Bahahahaha, the China Study is debunked trash and T. Colin Campbell a typical debunked Vegan fraud Doctor absolutely nobody respects, period. Just like all the other Vegan liar Doctors, like Greger, Barnard, Ornish and Esslestyne, you name it. Nobody respects them in the medical and scientific community because they know they are liars.
It is frightening to see the power of the meat and dairy lobby when evidence is so clear. They should be help accountable!
I'm 54 years old and I'm glad I started WFPB on 7-1-17. After a few weeks, my Osteoarthritis (knee and ankle) pain stopped. I can walk longer, climb stairs. My Asthma has gotten better, (no milk products), and I can breathe much better. I'm obese, but losing weight. Doctor reduced my high blood pressure meds. I finally joined a gym, taking it easy, and not feel pain in my knee and ankle or weezing. I'm on the road to getting my life back.

raineylee That is incredible! Keep it up and watch how your skin changes. Add rebounding to your routine....no gym needed and it helps tone your whole body and it detoxes your lymph system. You're going to look and feel like a new person before summer is over!

I have to agree with the rural China and Africa part. I never got sick as a child until I started my life journey (Working in a city) and adopted the western eating habits. Buggers, pizza and a lot of processed food. I am currently reversing a chronic disease (Urcelative colitic) with a plant based diet. I have one word. MAGICAL!!

Thats not a western eating habit. Thats called not making home made food and eating out everyday
@@ThePeacePlant I think that’s a great point. If more people simply cooked their own food at home, I really doubt they would be eating as much junk as they do at restaurants because it is extremely difficult to find healthy meals in restaurants today; at least at the ones that are near me.
I want to give my biggest thanks to doctor Campbell, his son and all the other people helping in plantpure nation programm. I am a student from Czech republic and I attended for an year at a medical college for a dietitian when I got fed up with what diets we are taught to design for children in schools, people in hospitals and other groups. The teachers have no idea about benefits of plant based diet nor the medics and doctors or other nutrition specialists advicing people diets. When I was trying to tell plant based diet is a better choice they were very sceptic, not accepting it at all. I decided to look for more information myself and discovered the China study and I am so happy someone proved this scientifically and is doing such a great job, trying to change the system that needs so many improvements. Thank you!

I was faltering on my vegan journey but watching this film has helped me to get back on track! Big thanks to all of you who put so much into making this documentary and raising awareness of the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle.
This is incredible! I'm 58 and became a vegan two months ago. I had a thyroid issue and now my numbers are perfect. In fact, all my bloodwork was perfect, cholesterol, D, sugar handling, iron, etc. ... I knew my numbers would improve, but not that fast! Just like this film, all those people had great results after 10 days. It can only get better!
Vegan doesn't change the "numbers" that fast, but will help.
@@statutesofthelord But it did. I had bloodwork in August that year before I was vegan, thyroid was off. The doctor yelled at me that I was going to have to be on medication if I didn't change my eating. She falsely assumed I was eating cake, but I was a clean eater. She was wrong. Two weeks later I became vegan. I finally gave up fish after seeing a baby octopus in a sea aquarium. (And I stopped going to sea aquariums and zoos too). I read all I could about veganism, hired a health coach. Then, I think it was October, I got bloodwork again, and results were excellent. I said, "My thyroid too?" The answer was yes. Then another 6 months I got bloodwork again. Everything was perfect again. Go figure. I'm not saying this to lead people on, I'm just sharing my experience. The vegan nutritionist even said when you give up fish and dairy, changes happen pretty fast.
@@BeYounique...Maryanne Channel, I'm not doubting your personal experience. What I can say with certainty, is that going vegan does not change all the numbers to perfect in two months.
What happened, is that you used the power of your God-given mind to will yourself to health, and the benefits of the plant-based lifestyle were used by God to get your body moving in the right direction, and then the much more powerful effects of the mind over your body brought the numbers up to perfection.

Went plant based 9 years ago. Best decision ive ever made, no more lethargy, stomach acidity meds or pain in my knees. My family changed with me, one reversed type 2 diabetes, 2 others have stopped osteoporosis in its tracks. Its the optimal human diet and as a result, provides healing absolutely. I am truly grateful for the people who have conducted the research to show, and prove, eating a plant based diet is healthier and needed in our society. I am now moving to transition to a vegan lifestyle:)

I am not a vegan/vegetarian but I do eat “flexitarian” with mostly whole, plant based foods vs animal and processed foods. What i love about this documentary is that it’s not promoting an “all or nothing” message using scare tactics, unlike what the health and some of the other vegan documentaries out there. Those types of messages often times aren’t successful in getting people to be more open minded because it’s not practical for most in reality. People have a hard time flipping a switch because many aren’t within the environments that allow them to do so with lack of education and access to fresh food. I love how this documentary covers not only health issues in America but also talks about why the healthcare and political system is exploiting the people’s health by suppressing the truth all because of money and greed. Something most people may not even realize... i am truly motivated to continue down the path of this type of lifestyle after watching this because it promotes a more important message beyond just making people feel guilty just because they aren’t vegan. Thanks for making this public.
Thanks for posting. I’m at a similar point in my life. My goal is to live the healthiest, longest, happiest, most pain & disease free life/ retirement as possible. If it’s a WFPB or more “nutritarian” type lifestyle then I’m comfortable with that. I also can embrace eating clean animal based protein ie wild caught salmon, grass fed grass finished meat on an occasional basis if it proves beneficial to me and my lab work. If it’s proves to be detrimental then I’ll adjust accordingly. My sentiments about this documentary are exactly as you described. Information based without being overly preachy.
Great documentary. My husband and I lowered our cholesterol to healthy levels by eating plant based food. We are 50 and not taking any prescription drugs.
Well, I am nearly 87, and take care of my vegan self, my home and a carnivore cat. And I am prescription FREE! Low blood pressure, low cholesterol, and NOT diabetic.

I am 75 years old and decided I didn’t want to waste away the rest of my life with sickness and pain when I have finally learned the truth about how nutrition greatly effects my health, along with learning about the horrible slaughter and treatment of the animals AND how we are destroying our beautiful planet. This video changed my entire life. I never knew . I remember at the end of the video I started crying I couldn't beleive all the garbage that I been eating all these years. I got up I grabbed a garbage bag and walked to the kitchen threw every meat, dairy , processed sugar all processed products into the garbage. I went to my local farm I live in Connecticut so we have farmers and got everything I needed . I will never eat my eat or dairy again. Thank You for changing my life ❤️

Thank you for disseminating this documentary for free! Health and wellbeing is a natural right! I am grateful plant based and also practice Ayurvedic medicine . My hypothyroidism has vastly improved. Two and a half years ago I was on 150 mcg of levothyroxine and today I am taking 25 mcg. I feel strong, healthy and energized . I practice yoga six days a week and feel younger than I did years ago.

What I've witnessed in nursing homes is that they are fed cafeteria style comfort foods.

Thank you for everything you do. I have been exclusively plant based now for 3 months. Yesterday I ordered the China study and the China study solution I can not wait to get them. If you read this please pass on to your father all these years later his work is still alive.
Good for you. My mom suffered a major stoke last October ‘21 but we were fortunate to meet a cardiologist that suggested an oil free Whole Foods plant based diet. He told us to follow Dr. Esselstyn’s book, arresting and reversing heart disease. My mom was paralyzed on the right side by the stroke and unable to speak, and developed leg sores from the rehab facility. After 8 months on this plant diet, since she was home with me, her sores completely healed. Wound care doc said that blood flow increased to her leg. She never saw that before, without surgery. My mom is now moving her arm and her leg and talking more. She can stand and she keeps getting better and better 1 year post stroke. I think this diet even helps the brain after a stroke.
My mom is also off statins. Cholesterol is normal without it. I just adopted this diet 9 weeks ago, because I’m her caretaker, I was medicating myself with wine and fried Chinese food at least 3 times a week. I’m 5’8” and I went from 167 lbs to 209 lbs in 8 months. Since I’ve adopted the diet I give my mom, I’ve gone from 209 lbs to 183. My blood pressure dropped from 155/80 ranger to 100/60. My resting heart rate went from the 70s to the 50s. I was only walking the first 6 weeks, now I’m running and lifting like in my gym rat days from my 20s and 30s. I’m 44.
This is a really fascinating documentary. Been a vegetarian for 2 years and now working my way to slowly go vegan. A plant based diet is the only sustainable way for the entire human population to thrive. I appreciate everything that the Campbell's are doing and truly want to spread this message and connect with more vegans in my community.
I switched to a plant-based, vegan diet about 4.5 years ago. The biggest change was a rapid loss of 65 lbs that I have maintained, despite two pregnancies since the switch. My cholesterol went from above 200 down to 153. My heart palpitations went away, as did my heartburn. My pregnancies as a plant-based eater were so opposite of my previous pregnancies. I had no swelling, low blood pressure the entire pregnancy, much better energy, and less weight gain (that, again, fell off rapidly postpartum). I no longer experience afternoon slumps, I have incredible energy and my mind is so much clearer and sharp (no fogginess ). The mental clarity grew into a new appreciation for spiritual things and completely revitalized my walk with God. I suffered from metabolic syndrome (obesity, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and high blood sugar). I went whole food plant based no sugar oil or salt and I lost 65 pounds, all my conditions greatly improved, my gums stopped bleeding, and erections and energy returned. I used to have an appetite that was never satisfied; whole foods cured it. I no longer use a sleep apnea machine. Finally, the food is cheap-Beans, lentils, rice, potatoes and seasonal apples. I am thankful to all the vegans who suffered attacks to reveal the truth to me.

Curvey Vegan people hold on to their beliefs so tightly. My Dad is dying of heart disease. His whole quality of life is in the shitter and he won’t touch a salad. If he does it’s drowned in an entire bottle of ranch. People would rather die than admit that what they are doing is contributing to their sickness. He even says he’d rather die happy eating “normal food” than die miserable eating like a bunny. There are to many of those people.

Amazing doc, I remember reading the China Study and drastically changing my diet, now my mother and I are eating a whole plant based diet and improved our health dramatically. As this doc. shows, you plant a seed, although it might take time, whatever you plant with love and care it will eventually flourish. Thank God for Dr. Campbell and all the activists for bringing truth to light♥️

That’s great! At one point I’d recommend you to become vegan. :) It’s healthier and we actually aren’t supposed to eat dairy because just like any other animal, it’s for their baby. :) But good job! I’m also vegetarian but because I’m 13, my parents want to make sure I’m responsible enough to keep a proper vegan diet. I’ll be going vegan in a few weeks! :) I also try to eat as least dairy possible. :)

My auto immune disorders are in remission and my liver is normal for first time I can remember , I am seventy tomorrow and while I still have some heart issues I am sure I will continue to improve . I weigh 65 kg now yet16 months ago I weighed 90and prior to that I weighed 96 kg and on Chemo for rheumatoid . I started with vegetarian and after losing my husband suddenly to pancreatic cancer I decided to research and it led me to fruit/ plant based coupled with more research into animal welfare and felt need to be more than just a vegetarian and now am full time animal activist and against poisons too both for animals and food production .

Fat is a necessity for the body and you health. As is most of the things found in meat. Plant based living without health issues down the line requires so much more knowleadge than anyone here thinks.

wish I started this sooner. I'm a few days shy of a month in and I have never felt better. Today, I had a craving..and I went for it :/ I had some pasta with cheese, ranch, and chicken. I feel like absolute crap right now and cramps all over my abdomen. This is the first time I've really played around with my diet and I'm learning so much. My body is truly speaking to me. Ive gained so much weight since I lost my left leg back in 2008 in a motorcycle accident. I'm excited to be on my journey to getting it off and living a healthier lifestyle

I lived with rheumatoid arthritis for 20 years and within 3 days, no pain. I've lost 30 lbs eating all I want as long as it's delicious fruits, vegetables whole grain or legumes, even starches. 7 years vegan here, perfect bloodwork, no supplements, my biggest regret in life is not taking animal products off my plate sooner. My second biggest regret in life is not speaking up about veganism to others sooner.

You need b12. Nutritional yeast does not count since it contains analog b12. It can take 10 years before deficiency symptoms show up. Please get a blood test and see. The last thing I want for you is to have permanent nerve damage. You can really hurt yourself. Mark Layhee marmite doesn't have enough b12 to be sufficient. It also has a lot of salt.
