- The 2020 Corvette is coming and like many of you I wanted to go hands on and see the car and feel it and honestly see if I fit inside. The model brought to Paradise Chevrolet in Temecula CA, was a C8 3LT Z51in the Elkhart Blue. Join me as we take a detailed look at the car and climb inside to see if I fit!

I touch, sit, and skim this entire 2020 Corvette 3LT Z51. Join me as we get up close and personal. Also we verify if I can finally fit in a Corvette!!!!! For those of you wondering. I am 6'5" tall and 300lbs at the time of this video.
Top Questions:
1.) The view. The upper edge of the windshield was close to my sight line. I could still see clearly, but visor down will be a no go.
2.) What is my inseam? I wear a 34L pant. sometimes 36.
3.) No they didn't start up the car. :(
4.) The cup holder cover was stuck. Seemed like a pre-production issue. I may have messed the guy up closing it.... oh well.
5.) Not actively cooled seats, just vented seats.
6.) For a person of my size, the back cup holder seems in the way and will not be usable.

At 6’6” I doubt you will fit comfortably
In the reveal they said that they took advantage of the fact the engine was in the back for more leg room

Chris Koehne I seen 6’6 guys in it and had plenty of room I don’t think there was power for the seats to move 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ but call your local dealer to see if they will get one and sit in it.

Same here, 6'6" 270lbs. Fit fine in C6 but not well in C7, can not wait for my C8 Z06.
Thanks for this. 6'7 here. I have a custom tillett carbon fiber seat and it gives about 2-3" head room + leg room. Definitely suggest it to anyone that is slim build but tall looking for more room! Should easily fit in the new c8 with the tillett seat.
Hey Phil, wondering if the tillett seat is adjustable? Which seat do you like the best? With me being 6'7 and my wife being 5'5 we need a seat that would work for both of us. Any suggestions?

Some people don't like the look of the C8 and think they're insane. Such a clean looking car and thank god its tall guy friendly.
Before the official reveal I was skeptical. Now I love it. It has lost a bit of its "Corvetteness", but only a bit. It looks amazing from all angles except for the back, which I find acceptable. It has definitely grown on me and it has unprecedented value at $60k starting price.
@@norwegianblue2017 I agree. The back have always been the weak point for corvettes. But overall the car is beautiful. Best car under $100,000.
The haters are probably going to say that its not a real corvette because the engine isn’t in the back. It’s a badass car. I like it but I’m also torn because the engine isn’t in the front like every corvette has been to date.
On my last three zO6’s when people asked me what color I wanted, and even at the dealer I always said I don’t care what color it is. I just want to drive it till it slides. ;-)
@@bearlemley it's an ugly car. Chevy fans are just going for the hype of a "1st mid engine car." Ig it wasn't mid engine. You would definitely see a decrease in sales

I was present at the launch event. I'm 6' 4" 195lbs and the C8 fits great for taller people in both seats. Usually they would steal from the passenger to give some room to the driver but both sides were very roomy. GT2 seats are the best, the Comp seats were pretty but were awful to sit in, definitely not built with bigger guys in mind.

My "little" brother (6'4" @ 230lbs) and I went to a local reveal to perform the "Tush Test." He said he had more leg room than in his C7 GS. Congrats GM, you built the C8 to be driven.

You do realize C8 might be the reason we don't have 7th gen Camaro?
Amount of RnD and money put into this thing must be insane. It's no wonder they just delayed/shelved whole Camaro badge.
The Camaro being front engine and a wonderful Alpha platform, probably not much would be needed in terms of continuity so GM would be mindless to discontinue the Camaro and a great Gen7 with looks and performance at a great price would sell, it’s the blue collar man’s car where as the New Corvette would be a blue collar with a new job promotion, GM can pull this off if they choose too 🤷🏻♂️
I myself had a Camaro the ZL1 is a great car
I was also at Paradise to check if I fit since I put a deposit. I'm 6'1 320 I fit in but I did feel a little pressure from the seat back wings. My friend who is 6'5 260 also fit and said he was good. I noticed he had more headroom than me, he told me he put the seat down all the way which I didn't do.
Overall I'm happy GM made a car with big and tall guys in mind since I've been looking at Lamborghini, Ferrari and any other supercar with no luck. Now I see how many big and tall guys have been wanting a sports car but nobody was thinking of them. Can't wait for my c8 to come in.

Well done! Nice, up close shots that really gave a sense of the car. Especially liked your fit test. I'm only 5' 10" but torso. In my C7, with helmet on, I have to recline the seat more than I'd like to be able to wear a helmet. Nice to know I will be able to comfortably track the car!!

Thank you for your video. My husband and I have a C7, I’m the primary driver. My husband is 6’3” and has long legs. In the passenger seat, his seat is all the way back and down and his knees are bent and up against the dash. In the drivers seat he feels very cramped. He fit better in our old C6. Nice to see someone 6’5” get into the C8 and be okay. The video was so helpful to actually see head room as well as the legroom. Maybe there’s hope for my husband yet!

Awesome video! Finally someone that’s seen it real life and isn’t making judgements based on the pictures online that any 12 year old can see. Not everyone is going to love it but I think it’s the direction Corvette had to go. Excited to see it up against some competition.

6'5" and nearly 300 and fits? nice.
I shouldn't have a problem then, but my question is where did you find your self bracing or holding onto getting into and out of the car?
Just curious, its something simple like the 80's Camaro's people would lean on dash corner to get in and out and that caused stress and ended up breaking the corner off.
I'm not as tall as you but I'm not short and thanks to this video, I know I wouldn't have any problems getting comfortable in the C8. I understand the problems you've had with knee clearance and you were happy that yours weren't making contact with the dash but things sure looked tight for your right leg between the steering wheel and the console. I've owned one car that was like that. It was tight to get in and out of but not too bad once I was in it but that spacing between the steering wheel and center console did get old after a while. Thanks for making this video and addressing issues that us taller folks have to deal with.
Thanks for the up close details- very similar to my C7 Z51. At 6’3” my brother and father don’t fit, but at 6 foot even I’m good. Was hoping for narrower door sills. This combined with the low seating position makes getting in and out tricky.

Hell yea! They spent a lot of time on those cars... I'm gonna hold out for the Z06... But i will get one... I own a C6 Z06 but never really cared for the C7

Great review Matt! You should start doing other cars. I liked your relaxed approach. You should carry a small flashlight with you for shining in exterior air vents and other dark areas so we can see.

As your newly adopted father and I am so proud of you for making this video. If you want to make your dad happier you will buy a C8 Z51 and come race at the tack with me LOL. But for real I think you should consider this car. I want more track time and this time I'm going with a real track oriented Corvette. I felt like my base model handled well for what is was but I know for a fact that this C8 will be amazing and can't wait for it. 15:24 Corvette C7 spotted!!!

I’ve never owned a Chevy but I’m more in love with the C8 all the time. This is a true dream car.
Mike Honcho ... There are good, and bad ones, just like every brand. I have owned six GM vehicles, and the only problem that I have ever had, was blowing power steering pumps (only on my 99, and 08, but probably due to putting on larger tires) on a few of my old Silverados). I will say, that a guy I know had purchased an 18 Traverse, brand new, and it failed it’s first years inspection, for multiple reasons, although it was covered under its warranty. I personally, have never had a single problem with GM products, that wasn’t my fault (due to modifications), and still think highly of them, even though I now drive an F-150. These new corvettes look amazing, will be looking to purchase one myself, now that I know that I can fit at 6’6”.

I’m 6’4 and was so disappointed that I didn’t fit in the c7, this gives me so much hope! Not sure if I will be getting one because I just love my 6th gen ss but maybe down the road.
I'm also 6'4" and I fit 2014 c7 no problem. It's not as spacious as my 6th gen but I can drive it no problem (which is not the case with my 78' C3 manual, I had to swap a steering wheel to close the door).

I've always looked over Vettes and bought Camaro's from the Iroc style til the 6gen just because my friends Vettes are to small inside..even the 18 GrandSport my friend recently purchased! And I'm 6'3"
