This is probably my favorite scene in the movie. I just think it's so cool that no matter how badly they want to kill each other they can't because of the Continental. I also love how Ares is just casually watching them.
not really, they're in the continental, assassins are forbidden to do business on it's ground or risk excommunication. they are basically forced to play nice with each other or don't play at all.
cyberwolfy37 Well on continental ground they don't want to fight, the killing is just Business and when they leave continental ground it all goes back to work. But i think in this scene Cassian simply wants revenge and doesn't care about Business
They are gonna have the same people who made the movie, make the show, they’ll even have Keanu Reeves working on the show as well. So I actually believe it might be good
@brett glamuzina this TV show is basically focusing on the other assassins that checks in and out of The Continental, though John Wick might appear too but I think he's not likely to be there much. I think it's a great idea that they're expanding this universe.
1:00 When John said, "...am I?" You could just feel how completely exhausted he was with his life. John Wick is viewed as this invincible killing machine, but deep down, he just wanted to be left alone. Iosef, Santino, Cassian, The High Table... none of them could take John out, but they refused to leave him be to grieve and remember Helen. This bar scene really paints John in a light that is so much more tragic than his legend makes him out to be.
Like Winston said John had a brief glimpse of the other side and saw happiness, but he knew sooner or later his darkness would over power the light Helen brought to him
I honestly love the value of those coins. They are worth quite a lot of money, yet they have no actual assigned value, in the sense of currency. There as unspoken economic system that for lack of a better term, “just works”
The only reason Cassian hates John in this film, is because John killed his ward, with whom Cassian may have secretly loved. And though there is a rivalry between the two, there is also a clear and deep respect. This leads me to believe that in Chapter 3, Cassian will return, and he may end up trying to kill John, but ultimately aiding him. And if they do a prequel film, most likely about "That Night" he "Got Out", we might see the two with an almost friendship.
I have a feeling that Cassian will work with him but at the end there will be a fight between him and John in which John will kill him after which john quits the assassin life and goes home with his dog.
GhostRider 1989 man i wish marcus (the sniper) from the first movie lived to see the sequel he was bad ass too, especially how he went out on his own. john also had alot of respect for him and killed the russian boss at the end to avenge him.

Anthony WOW. GOOD MEMORY! THAT WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! Good for you. Tell me those scenes didn't freak you out because you know that it was building up to something nasty.
I love how through this whole movie everyone talks like they're seeing a friend on the street. They're talking matter-of-factly, and respectfully. Next to the scene where John gets dressed for the night, gets his guns and the plans to the building this is my favorite scene of the movie!
Not everyone dresses like a wanna be gangster slouch BIG shirt baseball hat and stupid ass sneakers We still have high standards to look professional and maintain our bearings
What I find it even more entertaining in these John Wick's series is that, most characters are always calm and collected in the most insane and unimaginable situations.
What else was he supposed to do, cut the coin in half? The bar takes care of it's patrons and the patrons take care of you. Assassin world isnt THAT much different from reality.
The coins have no monetary value in this universe. They're Favor coins, you use them when someone assists you in any way. Which is why John gave Harry a coin in the first John Wick, for holding Perkins, and 12 coins to the clean up crew for the 12 dead men in his house.
Even if a coin hasn’t got a monetary value it still has to have some sort of value paying someone to dispose of a body without questions asked and fixing you up a daiquiri are two very different things!
@@Kezpool While I do agree with you my statement wasn't speculation the writers of this universe meant for the coins to be used in this way. They did an interview where they were asked about it and that was their response. They said it was less about the value and more of a token of gratitude.
Why is it so hard to understand in the country we call it barter and trade and that's what this is except in gold coins which us po folks dont know about lol
I don't know why... but after this scene I was kind of hoping that bodyguard guy would help him to kill the one who ordered the hit in the first place, not John. Oh well... maybe we'll see him in Chapter 3?
ZECTCustomUnit I know, but the story teller in me though he saw a potential ally in that bodyguard. "I get it, you didn't have a choice... Now that your marker is done, you can go after him for trying to kill him. Maybe I can help." And it would go on from there. But oh well, maybe we'll see him in Chapter 3 trying again.
TXNICK96 yes I was really disappointed when that didn't happen. The entire time I was thinking 'when these 2 finally work together, they're gonna tear shit up' I was hugely disappointed when it didn't go anywhere near that.
Skidboy7 The ending would have been a lot better: Cassian helps save John from his wounds in New York. They reach the main bad guy. Fast forward to the shooting at the Continental, only this time Cassian does the deed instead of John. And Cassian says "For my Ward" and excepts his fate. John would try to help from there (End of Chapter 2) But that's just the "Fanfic Writer" in me talking.
fair enough, i would still keep the actual ending with john doing the deed. Imo that ending was a damn good sequel setter. I just wanted Cassian to start working with John after their fight in the train.
I like to think the reason a lot of these characters say "See you around" or "Be seeing you" as their last word is because... they're killers. Murderers. Gangsters and assassins. They know where their souls are bound after death. Even John's not totally exempt from that. It's like a courteous salute, a threat, and a spit all at once. And John just says "sure" or "yeah..." he knows it. But he's also like Kratos. "Death can have me when it earns me."
Inthe first movie, Wick pays for everything with Bitcoin Wallets (Gold Coins With Digital Currency, Like PayPal, etc.) The coins are probably programmed to pay for different stuff. (Drinks, Room Service, Clothes, Weapons, Etc.)
Alpha Rumble pretty sure those aren’t bitcoins, they are a currency in the assassin world, and the amount in circulation are regulated by the hotel, they don’t have a specific value but are paid for a form of service , could be one night stay at the hotel, weapons, maps, a suit or even cleaning a dead body as see in the first movie, they are trading the coin for a set of specialised skills
Man I guess that's how it goes in the criminal underworld. Even thought you know who ordered the hit and the assassin was just doing his job you still is bound to kill him. Great scene thought.
I like how Ares is chillin' in the background and trying to see herself as competition but John only acknowledges Cassian and couldn't give a hoot about her.
the blood oath that winston gave john at the end of this movie, i think he will bind it with cassian. Cassian is probably in trouble like John as well. he not only failed to protect his ward but failed to avenge her. there is no way the high table is happy with him at the moment. not only that but cassian is on the same skill level so it would be smart. and anyone who says "lol cassian aint shit!" john literally fought his way to the continental... he knows cassian isnt weak
I would bet that the high table will give him the order “kill John or you get killed” yeah the high table might not be happy with him but they’ll use him
I always find it funny how two of the most well trained assassins ever are just calmly discussing a fight, where one intends to kill the other, as casually as two people discussing the weather
The fact that a drink costs the same as a gun / suit / hotel room and knowing how difficult those coins are to obtain, I imagine to drink there you've got to be pretty successful. That'd keep the lower levels away from the bars and I imagine that's what the more successful assassins would want.
So far we know john knows English, Russian, Italian and sign language......seriously the smartest hitman I've yet to see in Hollywood and God knows what else we'll learn about John in John Wick 3.
I think Cassian's vendetta against John Wick was misplaced. Even if John killed Gianna (which he didn't, she killed herself ) , it'd be more logical for Cassian to kill Santino, who ordered the assassination in the first place. After all, John had no choice but to uphold the marker oath, and Cassian acknowledged that
I think it comes down to at least one of these two things. Cassian may be forced to kill the murderer of his boss, might be just one of those extra rules. He wants redemption, not revenge. The difference between that and revenge is that by killing him he can avenge Gianna and prove to himself that if he was there he would have been successful in killing him.
Ares seemed like she had a...thing for Wick. The slight lick of the lips. The sigh seemed more like she was upset he didn't take the flirt she threw at him like she wanted.
I think it would have been cool seeing them work together. Since Cassian was close to Gianna as he says. Santino screwed with both of them, with John turning on him and Cassian for having his ward killed. John had no choice, he had a marker no less, Cassian should have considered that and exact revenge on the one really responsible, Santino.
"Bring back Common's character 'Cassian'. Him and John are basically work friends/buddies but they were just on competing projects in the second movie. They are kind of like Goku & Vegeta, Sonic & Knuckles, Batman & Superman.".
Honestly after this movie it’s hard to see Common as a rapper. He been such a great actor that I see him in this roll all the time, and the other great movies he been in as well!

@brett glamuzina this TV show is basically focusing on the other assassins that checks in and out of The Continental, though John Wick might appear too but I think he's not likely to be there much. I think it's a great idea that they're expanding this universe.
Who the hell would refuse if Ruby Rose offered to buy you a drink? John Wick. *Sigma grindset music starts playing*
Lol
1:00 When John said, "...am I?" You could just feel how completely exhausted he was with his life.
John Wick is viewed as this invincible killing machine, but deep down, he just wanted to be left alone. Iosef, Santino, Cassian, The High Table... none of them could take John out, but they refused to leave him be to grieve and remember Helen.
This bar scene really paints John in a light that is so much more tragic than his legend makes him out to be.
Like Winston said John had a brief glimpse of the other side and saw happiness, but he knew sooner or later his darkness would over power the light Helen brought to him
It was more of a "Are you going to let me go and stop hunting me?"
I honestly love the value of those coins. They are worth quite a lot of money, yet they have no actual assigned value, in the sense of currency. There as unspoken economic system that for lack of a better term, “just works”
OniYoshihiro I think the basic value system is one simple job equals one coin. The harder the job, the more coins it will cost.
I think those gold coins are probably just their currency.
OniYoshihiro if you think of it, its like Disney world currency
They're all Swiss chocolate
One coin=something you get
For example, you get a drink one coin, you buy a suit one coin, every job killing 5 coins i think
So you're free... Am I?... No, not at all... Great scene.
ASSASSINS: The high table wants your life.
JOHN WICK: I am the high table.
i love that they sit at the bar together instead of separate, it shows that theyre two professional and not petty squabblers
Lol i LOVE Common in this, every second you can tell that he's UNFATHOMABLY angry, but maintaining that courteous air
1:29 perfection
GhostRider 1989 man i wish marcus (the sniper) from the first movie lived to see the sequel he was bad ass too, especially how he went out on his own. john also had alot of respect for him and killed the russian boss at the end to avenge him.
fs87 you and that guy blew my mind with those plot lines. Also, if that’s your profile pic you’ve had way to much protein
I love this idea, I hope they do it
If the sequel is the end of a trilogy, there is a good chance John just dies by the hands of someone worthy, like Cassian.
The only man to match John Wick....
Almost
This scene introduced me to regular drinking of bourbon and whisk(e)y
hehehe man of principles i see
Yeah Patrick? You should see Common in Street Kings. He makes the scene almost too frightening to watch with his buildup to the inevitable. Masterly done. I was blown away by his acting. At that point I hadn't known he was an actor 🎭.
lazerlazer we straight nightmares 🌙
lazerlazer His role in Smoking Aces was great too. Very underrated movie
Even in a world full of assasins, courtesy and professionalism still lives
Without rules (both of engagement and of etiquette), they are just living with the animals. :)
Not everyone dresses like a wanna be gangster slouch BIG shirt baseball hat and stupid ass sneakers
We still have high standards to look professional and maintain our bearings
I love it when John says YEAH
These 2 gentleman are very kind and respectful.
I hope they both make it home safely!
They both died bro…
What I find it even more entertaining in these John Wick's series is that, most characters are always calm and collected in the most insane and unimaginable situations.
Alpha status.
2:45 Looking back, I realized that this moment foreshadows John Wick 3. Well at least I think it does
These two will wind up fighting alongside one another in the next movie, I'll bet..
Hulk Smash 24/7 pls no I don't want that bad guy turn good guy shit it's fucking gay
Didn't Common die ... on the train
@@riftwalk2546 he's not a bad guy
I guess you lost the bet lol
Danny pong jr wait he didnt die...john left him in a place where if he removed a knife he will bleed out and die i think
What else was he supposed to do, cut the coin in half? The bar takes care of it's patrons and the patrons take care of you. Assassin world isnt THAT much different from reality.
Take a smaller coin. It's like having only 1200 dollar bills. That doesn't make much sense.
I always kinda thought Ares had a crush on John.
That's why she wanted to buy him a drink.
I mean...*looks at him*
...yeah
Ever heard a deaf person moan before????
Love how they are so calm after that fight even assasins and bodyguards are nice
for some reason I got so happy that Common got such a big role in a big film.
probably because I appreciate him a lot as a rapper.
I don't know why... but after this scene I was kind of hoping that bodyguard guy would help him to kill the one who ordered the hit in the first place, not John.
Oh well... maybe we'll see him in Chapter 3?
ZECTCustomUnit
I know, but the story teller in me though he saw a potential ally in that bodyguard.
"I get it, you didn't have a choice... Now that your marker is done, you can go after him for trying to kill him. Maybe I can help."
And it would go on from there.
But oh well, maybe we'll see him in Chapter 3 trying again.
TXNICK96 yes I was really disappointed when that didn't happen. The entire time I was thinking 'when these 2 finally work together, they're gonna tear shit up'
I was hugely disappointed when it didn't go anywhere near that.
Skidboy7
The ending would have been a lot better:
Cassian helps save John from his wounds in New York.
They reach the main bad guy.
Fast forward to the shooting at the Continental, only this time Cassian does the deed instead of John.
And Cassian says "For my Ward" and excepts his fate.
John would try to help from there
(End of Chapter 2)
But that's just the "Fanfic Writer" in me talking.
fair enough, i would still keep the actual ending with john doing the deed. Imo that ending was a damn good sequel setter. I just wanted Cassian to start working with John after their fight in the train.
Skidboy7 wick killed him in the train. so thats out for chapter 3
"I appreciate that, ill try to do the same" 🤣
I want to see Cassian chapter 4 helping John
Everyone show respects this man.
They respect each other, but they both gotta do what they gotta do
0:50 Translation:
John Wick: Thank you.
Cassian: Thank you my ass.
Common acting was brilliant
the way john wick says yeah makes it sound so cool but very laid back way of saying it 😎😎😎
"Can I buy you a drink?"
"No thanks"
"Not him, me."
The fuck?
Proper impressive badass, Common. Well done.
considering how John stabbing him in the chest without killing him later on, that's one hell of a courtesy
"Not if I see you first."
I see you
"Not if I see you first."
Haha nice...
when you and the person u hate in class get partnered up for a project
wtf!!! those are the most expensive drinks ever (O_0)
or maybe he want it to show him he will make any expense to get him (-_-)
Inthe first movie, Wick pays for everything with Bitcoin Wallets (Gold Coins With Digital Currency, Like PayPal, etc.) The coins are probably programmed to pay for different stuff. (Drinks, Room Service, Clothes, Weapons, Etc.)
Alpha Rumble pretty sure those aren’t bitcoins, they are a currency in the assassin world, and the amount in circulation are regulated by the hotel, they don’t have a specific value but are paid for a form of service , could be one night stay at the hotel, weapons, maps, a suit or even cleaning a dead body as see in the first movie, they are trading the coin for a set of specialised skills
they paid for the window aswell
This is how real men back in the day settle their shit with class
Me: It looks like they are not even drinking it.
Director: Well that's the fucking highlight of this scene
Man I guess that's how it goes in the criminal underworld. Even thought you know who ordered the hit and the assassin was just doing his job you still is bound to kill him. Great scene thought.
If anything, Cassian should've gone after Santiago first, John was pretty much following the rules.
I like how Ares is chillin' in the background and trying to see herself as competition but John only acknowledges Cassian and couldn't give a hoot about her.
2:55 and he knows sign language... what can this man not do!
Live happy
Retire
@@joshua_prime3743 trueeeeee
the blood oath that winston gave john at the end of this movie, i think he will bind it with cassian.
I would bet that the high table will give him the order “kill John or you get killed” yeah the high table might not be happy with him but they’ll use him
Ares. She had the hots for Wick. Oh how things could've worked out differently if Wick had only taken that drink...
My favorite scene
That sign language at the end of this scene was pretty cool.
Wow DMX has changed

John Gaulden You think I can't tell the difference. Lighten up learn to take a joke
c'mon, man you know that's T-pain.
Not if I see you first LOL
John: "I'm going to kill the guy who ordered me to kill her"
Cassian: "Ok, I'll put a pin in trying to kill you, then"
The ASMR in this scene is spectacular!
"consider it as a professional courtesy "
This movie is so elegant...
That’s the sigh of a woman that thought she was gonna get some
Common's acting is fantastic.
If only professional courtesy were a real thing in this world.
It is.... only those that respect you....
"Not if I see you first"
Such a my type of reply
At the end she’s like, “shit, i didnt get plowed”
Flirting by trading death threats 3
So far we know john knows English, Russian, Italian and sign language......seriously the smartest hitman I've yet to see in Hollywood and God knows what else we'll learn about John in John Wick 3.
Talking to each other after almost killing each other. LOL! Unique movie scene indeed! But awesome all the way.
Common is ... common.
I just love the fact that john knows every fucking language out there.
She’s like “he knows sign language too?!?!?”
I love the contrast here: Bald dude and long haired dude, one with dark alcohol in a short glass, another with light drink in tall glass :)
This is why he spares the guy in there final encounter.
In where?
@@ObitoUchiha-rr2ss in the train
Never seen this scene in the original language, that "grasie"...speechless ahahah
omg I love this movie
Ares seemed like she had a...thing for Wick. The slight lick of the lips. The sigh seemed more like she was upset he didn't take the flirt she threw at him like she wanted.
I think it would have been cool seeing them work together. Since Cassian was close to Gianna as he says. Santino screwed with both of them, with John turning on him and Cassian for having his ward killed. John had no choice, he had a marker no less, Cassian should have considered that and exact revenge on the one really responsible, Santino.
Maverick and Castle have a heartfelt conversation
"Bring back Common's character 'Cassian'. Him and John are basically work friends/buddies but they were just on competing projects in the second movie. They are kind of like Goku & Vegeta, Sonic & Knuckles, Batman & Superman.".
It's one of those situations where you can tell these two would be friends if John wasn't forced to kill the women he was guarding
I’ll make it quick…I promise.
That part always kills me 😂😂
Honestly after this movie it’s hard to see Common as a rapper. He been such a great actor that I see him in this roll all the time, and the other great movies he been in as well!
The not if I see you first in sign is just brilliant:).
