There are certainly moves afoot in numerous estates throughout Bordeaux to pull back on oak usage and better monitoring of ripeness means tannins are less astringent.
Yummy, sounds like a wine to buy if they get the pricing right. And what a Barrel Cellar! Did you taste Cantemerle? If You did, how does it compare? Usually it offers better pricing and similar quality.
I hope prices are good enough to encourage people to buy, if so there are a lot of wines from Margaux and the southern Medoc that will be very attractive buys. As for Cantemerle yes I did taste it and will post a video too. I think 2023 is a brilliant Cantemerle, but it is less structured than the La Lagune
What a fabulous cellar. Do you think Medoc wines are becoming more fruit driven in the last 12 years?
Definitely. They are less tannic and more fruity, for an earlier consumption. Win-win.
