even if i was a millianaire i would buy this car. the c8 is historic. it looks like a ferrari and interior look like lamorghini. the excited is because its $60,000 basse price. its even cheaper than the NIssan GTR?!
It's also slower than all those cars you mentioned. You get what you pay for. Only time will tell if this car is worth it, especially since it's GM's first mid-engine vehicle. They're going into uncharted waters, so there might be some issues once consumers get to drive it (ie. build quality, cooling issues, etc...).

Why? Most Ford dealers will only get one GT500 and some will not get any. Chevy dealers will get tons of C8s.

GM has done a much better job at revealing this car. They do the reveal and a week later they have a corvette shipped to their top tier dealers. This creates a consumer frenzy. The gt500 might be an amazing car but ford dropped the ball on showmanship.

This is probably the best Corvette since the 1963 split window Corvette, that was the first one that had a real horse power from my understanding. My grandfather bought a 1963 split window Corvette brand new and sold it three years later for more money than he paid for it, it was an instant classic. I don’t think this one will go up in value like that because the c8 is going to be mass produced. I’m not a Corvette guy but I am a car guy so I can understand going to a showing like this and checking it out.

I work at a car manufacturer over 20 years seen it all including QC. Trust me you do not want a first year production of any vehicle unless you like being a guinea pig for all the issues they work out.. That being said love the C8 it will be in my driveway. Not the first model year though ;).

C8 is game changer as much we love mustangs this car will make any premium model mustang buyer or GT350 buyers think real hard about buying a mustang. The low level base model buyer will keep the mustang safe but C8 has changed the sports car market.

The best feature on the C8 ..the door handle/air intake...wow!!! Give the designer a medal. What a car...the exterior is fantastic and the interior is pure quality..better than a porsche, easily better than the ford gt it makes the cayman and boxster's interior look dull.

@@hiltonlouque1504 how? By performance, but the car has not been tested yet. Next the GT is a limited production car while the C8 is a mass produced car. Even the history of the GT is different. Also the engine, do you guys realize the C8 has a pushrod motor. The engine in the Mustang is more advanced. The C8 will be sitting on used car lots for less than 40k in a couple of years. You will never see a GT for that price. I can dump enough money into anything and make it fast but that doesn't put it on the same level as other cars.

I love the mustang, but lets be honest, the mustang is a bargain due to it's downfalls. In actuality, Ford has no problem charging or overcharging anyone for their products. You can build a mustang gt for almost the base price of the c8. Let's not forget about all the dealer markups. Or the $75k jackhammers sitting on Ford lots. The Ford GT was all about clout and exclusivity, not performance.

Yeah, I'm still hot on the GT500, but the fact I can't find one for MSRP, even with the dealers that say 'Stop in and we'll make a deal!'. It's a crying shame, will probably end up ordering a Z06 when they come out. The greed is really unfortunate.

People are asking why compare a GT500 and the new C8, when they aren’t true competitors..?
Because the base C8 (with Z51, and maybe even without that option) will have better performance and cost less.
So it’s natural that comparisons will be made and previously made deposits cancelled, LoL.
Two much different cars!
Both American made sports cars with V8's and Tremec dual clutches, and give or take similar msrp's. I would say they are absolutely true competitors.
To get the 0-60 in 3 seconds you have to get the Z51 package and performance exhaust. I doubt you'll see a 60k C8. Dealer-installed equipment, dealer ordered options, dealer "mark-up", and more. Reminds of the 1970 Datsun 240Z. Everyone wanted a base car -nobody could get one.

The key fob will be used to unlock the car. They disconnected the battery so no one would drive off with it!
I’m actually excited to see all this simply for the fact that now the competition has to step up there game. What is ford and dodge going to do in response. This is not a HP monster but it’s got more attention then the GT 500 and any hellcat. Hopefully we can see more amazing cars come out that for the everyday car guy(or girl)! Something that is fun, somewhat practical, but also won’t break the bank!

Two good friends popped their engines in their GT350’s. Oil consumption issues. One of my friends traded it for a 350R, so he kinda lucked out.

I want to see one in person, it's hard for me to judge in pictures. I like the mid engine setup though.
I think we're looking at the new Mustang. (In other words, there are so many Mustangs on the road. I think we're going to have a lot of C8's on the road. And nothing wrong with that!).
The only negative is that it’s a 2 seater , kids don’t fit in it and the mustang does but everything else it’s awesomeness
Car looks great, I was always turned off by the limited seating. Need room for the family. The '72, '81 were some of my favorite for looks. And I believe the '14 and up looks great. This one is HOT! Maybe in the future when I retire...maybe. My heart still bleeds blue!!!

Is everything on the C8 an option? The Base 2020 Corvette Comes with All-Season Tires.
Then watch the price increase as you add Z51, etc. If you're looking for an investment car. The limited production car that will perform a quarter mile at a time or on the track. GT500 is the car. If you don't care about depreciation. Then purchase the C8. If you want a Corvette in the $40,000. Purchase a C7.

tough decision man! the GT500 is going to be fantastic but what sucks is the huge markups the dealers are charging for them. you are looking at $120K for a car that should be no more than $85K with the Track/Carbon Pack. You can get a C8 for prob around $75K with the Z51 and a few nice options! i personally would go with the C8! just my opinion. or wait a year or two when prices will come down on both! im currently looking at possibly a GT350/R because the prices on those have dropped dramatically and you can get one at below msrp at this point!
Anyone who pays mark up on a gt500 is not smart. It’s a poor buy. 120k, you can but lots of better cars for that money.

Never seen anything like this for the money. We had TVR's in the UK a little while back, big HP and semi-super car for not a lot of cash, but rubbish really ( I had 2 ). This looks immense for the money and they should sell incredibly well IF they keep the price attainable for mortals.
Still not interested...if I was going to sell or trade my PP2 it would be on the current corvette and I would guess they will be dealing on the C7s. Why does everyone keep comparing the GT500 to the C8...? The base C8 of course would not have a mark-up...now variants of C8 will probably have a mark-up...just like the GT500.
In all Seriousness! Unless your getting the Z06 or ZR1 stay with the GT500. I was at the ford dealer today getting my oil changed and I almost pulled the trigger on a GT350! There’s just something a little extra special about a car that has limited production.

Funny you would ask because I known a 2018 Mustang GT with the 10 speed and I have no problems you speak of and have no recalls either. And the same transmission is used in the 2019 Camaro as well as a BUNCH of different Chevy's btw.... I'm calling bs on your claim that it is a disaster because it would also be a disaster in the other vehicles it was used in.
Yes they were, a total of 142. Not my idea of a total failure by no means. And it seems there are just as many problems on the Chevy side as well. With my GT at 735 wheel horse power I still have not one issue with the stock 10 speed transmission.

If i buy another Shelby it will be a 65 to 70 GT 350. I like the C-8!!! Chevy has it going right! It just needs a manual to make me 100% happy. Great videos brother. Cancel that GT 500. Thanks for the C8 content, I am a die hard Ford guy myself but this is one very nice car. Not as practical as a Mustang but still very nice. If I had money to burn I would have both a Shelby and a C8.

I’m still not sold on the C-8. I’ll explain. The base C8 is going to be around $60G. If you look at the base specs on a C8 I would compare it too a Well equipped premium mustang GT around $47G. That’s a $13G difference to have the engine behind you that makes close to the same HP. Now when you see the ZO6 for probably around $100G and the ZR1 way north of $100G what’s the better deal. If it was me I’ll wait and see what the ZO6 is going to be.

Test drive a Vette before ordering one, it’s got a higher beltline and a smaller tighter cabin then Mustang. It also has no room to push back seats. No back seat area for stuff. Nice fast sports car and stylish too. Good price if you have the money to spend! Most of us have a hard time sounding $60 or more on a second car! This isn’t a practical primary daily to use your beater! Need to have sufficient discretionary income to keep as second car.
A basic Mustang has more use. Rentals are usually ecoboosts not GT types. Plus mere fact it can rented means nothing. The base $60k Corvette will be a rental too.

I always liked the Corvette vs the Maro. I feel like the Corvette community is greater. You have a lot of Miliarty Vets that ride in style in this car and it is popular with the younger crowd too, and the end of the video proves that. Thinks for the video. One question though, I dont get how ppl didnt wont Ford to go to radical with the Gt500. Many ppl wanted to keep the original S550 look vs the 2018 S550, so what is the big fuse( just architecture not pricing)
I only followed this channel because I’m a huge mustang fan I’ve owned 3 now. Starting with a fox body then a boss 302 and now a 2017 GT. I love mustangs. However, the way ford is doing things with the gt500 frankly is sitting right with me. The car is a limited car and it’s supposed to be special. I just don’t feel that it’s special enough. The c8 corvette is amazing not just for the money it’s amazing period. I love how it stirred the market when it was released and got everyone excited. And to be quite honest the gt500 just didn’t do that.
