The Tazer JL Mini and JL Lite are essential tools for every owner of an 18 and newer Wrangler JL or a 20 and newer Gladiator JT. It’s a small electronic module that simply plugs into your Jeep under the dash in place of the secure gateway module found just above the OBD II diagnostic port. In this video, Rob will show you how easy it is to install, by simply unplugging the two electrical connectors on the SGW module, then connecting them to the Tazer. With the Tazer installed in your Jeep, Rob will walk you through all the different features and settings, like how you can recalibrate for different size tires, gear ratios, transfer case ratios, change the TPMS threshold, check and clear diagnostic trouble codes, turn off the auto start stop feature, gain more control over the Rubicon sway bar and lockers, even activate fun light show modes, set a high idle for winching, and activate a line lock (for burnouts 16:30) or rock crawl mode to help build torque when you're tackling those really tough obstacles.

@@LarryRichelli The links provided take you to individual product pages. One for the mini and one for the lite. On each of those pages you can download the Installation Instructions in .pdf format. In those PDFs there are the features of each product (Settings and Live functions). Pardon the formatting as I'm pasting directly from the pdf files. You can see the Mini provides many more features than the lite.
LITE Vehicle Settings:
- Change Tire Size
- Change Gear Ratio
- Change Transfer case LOW ratio
- Enable/Disable TPMS system
- Change TPMS pressure warning limit front/rear (25psi-85psi)
- One-touch return-to-stock - Quick “unmarry” function returns all vehicle settings back to
stock.
LITE Live Functions:
- AutoStopStart disable - remembers last state of the auto stop start system and will set it for
you the next time you start the vehicle
- Can disconnect sway bar in 2WD up to 30mph
- Light Show mode - 6 preset and 3 make-your-own Light shows that flashes all the exterior
lights, perfect for car shows/first responders/off-road visibility. Control from Key Fob or
steering wheel buttons. Can be enabled for in-motion use for parades, off-road and legal
police/EMS.
- Cooldown mode: Turn engine fans on demand when the ignition is on, engine not running
- Line Lock: Can lock front brakes for an easy burnout
- Rock Crawl: Can lock all four brakes by pressing steering wheel buttons to hold the vehicle
still, especially helpful when off-road.
- Winch Mode: Raise idle to 2000 RPM with a simple button press.
- Display DTC’s - Display Diagnostic Trouble Codes. Allows you to pull codes to see why the
Check Engine light may be on.
- Clear CELs - Reset that pesky check engine light. Good when you have mods that set the
light and you know exactly why.
- Firmware updates - new firmware is available periodically, always free and posted to the Z
Automotive website. Use ZPU programming utility, also on the website, to load the
firmware.

Hi I glad I found this because when I regear myJL they install this to calibrate the odometer, but I haven receive an explanation of how this works, but regarding the features when I hit the breaks hard the vehicle keeps holding the breaks to release it I need to hit the throttle and move the vehicle so this is part off the functionality of the tzr?

Will setting the proper tire size help with mpgs?
I purchased a set of oracle led flush mount taillights and the lower bumper led lights where the reflectors were and only drivers side reverse stays on but sometimes all comes on but off right away and i hooked up the oe taillight on passenger side but now that doesn't even work so i don't know what is going on but it worked before i installed the oracle taillight.
What functionality do I lose by removing the SGW module to install the JL Mini ?
Will I still get that code for the security system because I remove the connections to the security module?
Does this work with the basic trim level JL sport, probably the only Jeep with the basic dash cluster?

watched video with Rob talking about the tazer mini . question is he said if you have to take your jeep to the dealership for any service unmarry and uninstall the tazer from the jeep and when getting the jeep back reinstall the tazer and marry it back. my question is why unmarry and uninstall?
Hey once your done do you disconnect tazer and if you do do you reconnect the wires back to the jeep or leave them loose

Can I use the tazer mini to add led halo light and daytime light on a base Willy’s sport?
I have two questions about features that one address in the video. Can you use the tazer to turn off the seatbelt chime and it’s not buckled in? And can the Tazer add the ability to move the vehicle while a door is open?
If either of the answers are yes, can it be done by just changing the settings and then removing the taser? Or does the taser need to always be installed?
Should of included rear tire lock for turning off road and throttle controls. Also how much is it?
So when I had my Jeep lifted and 35's put on the dealer programmed the new tire size in. If I got this and went bigger would it still work the same? I'm thinking that the stock computer just thinks that 35's are my normal tire size.

When you say 0-30 and 0-60 is that increasing Horseshoe power or opening up the throttle ? Does the Tazer JL mimi have that type of function to remove engine restriction in order to open it up like tuners on the market?
If you toggle off the traction/stability . Are you still able to use cruise control. ? On my ram it cuts traction back on when u go to use cruise. Thanks
Got mine about a month ago, along with an iDrive unit. Combined, they are an awesome combo for the 2020 Gladiator Rubicon...Especially after I installed my 37’s.
Took a while to understand and figure out how to adjust and set things on the Tazer, but once I got it figured out, it was good to go. 🤘🏻
I highly recommend getting both items. They work well together to get everything out of your factory Jeep. 👍🏻

I got the extension harness to make it easier to take the Tazer out when I take it in for service. Even plugging the extension harness in is a bitch.

So when I finish programming I don’t disconnect the tazer? I leave it plugged in as shown at the start?
high idle seems awesome for manual... allow you to operate the clutch and brake simultaneously without worrying about stalling as well as just having a higher and smoother idle speed while crawling. I did this on my WRX, raised the idle rpm to 1000 for traffic and really never had to touch the gas in stop and go. When I backed it down to stock idle it became much less smooth so I raised it back up.
Did that affect the gas nileage?

Will the Tazer void my warranty for my new Mojave? I know for certain if i use most tuners for my Harley, it voids the warranty. Essentially forcing me to use a Harley tuner and there are a couple others i can use. But many void the warranty.
That was a solid and detailed review, Rob. Thank you. I noted that your NITTO Trail Grapplers could be set spot on at 37". I have NITTO Ridge Grapplers and could only get as close as 36.97 or 37.05. I understand you are not responsible for the Tazer JL Mini/ Lite results but do you have any thoughts on the difference in tire set results?
Tires are never the exact size they say they are. Most are 1/2in shorter
So if I swap the tires and gears and then I "unmarry" the taser I still be able to drive it?
My brother told me that after he swap the gears he wasn't able to drive it until he install the superchips monitor

It's a taser specifically for certain 2020 gladiators because I have a sport and when I plug it in it doesn't come up with the audio on my dash or is there something I'm doing wrong
The Tazer is so good, it's almost like it should've come from the factory pre-installed. It's probably the first mod a person should make to their JL/JT.
What are the chances this would void OEM warranties of unmarrying before any shop visits? Only using it for regearing and tire size corrections.
@@TheMrAndycatman I've seen some pretty arrogant and shady dealerships, one VW dealership accused me of breaking headlight, he implied i had tried removing it myself and breaking it -wasn't true. so anything is possible.
But simply remove it before taking it in. Most likely they wouldn't care at all.
My Halos are clearly visible in my Rubicon 2023 headlights while I cannot turn them on.
It is mentioned that I can do that using The tazer while others are talking about a 4th wire.

Anyone else have trouble hooking up their mini? Plugged into my 2021 wrangler, the unit doesn't light up and can't use the menus on the jeep, hold left and click cancel does nothing. Unit does light up when I plug into my computer. Thoughts anyone?

If you're just changing settings you can make the changes and then remove it. For live functions you need to leave it installed
Got a question I've never been able to get answered anywhere... if I were to buy just normal LED bulbs (switchback or just amber) and put them in my Sport turn signals would this device remove the requirement for load resistors?
