Jay Trock - totally agree. I have a 2013 wrangler with the pentastar engine with 140,000 kilometres. I am adding 3/4 of a litre every fuel up. (For my American friends that I roughly 80,000 miles and adding a pint of oil.) I love. The Jeep design but FCA’s quality sucks. The oil consumption is just one of a half dozen other quality issues.
The Fast Lane Truck I’d go with a 6 inch lift on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator and I’d get the Automatic Transmission over the Manual Transmission and I’d put a 6.7L High Output Cummins Diesel with the AISIN AS69RC 6 Speed Automatic Transmission with the Column Shifter
As someone who has a four-door short bed pickup and a separate mild-to-moderate wheeling rig, this Jeep truck would have no problem pulling double duty and replacing both of them. Haters are going to hate, but Jeep is doing a better job of listening to their customer base than Toyota. Thanks for bringing the insights to curious minds!
That v6 puts out the same horsepower as a older 5.3 Silverado. Doesn’t have as much torque, but I’m sure they’re geared down quite a bit. So looking at the price for a fully loaded Rubicon right now Teeters on nearly 60 k. I'm going to go out on a limb and say with dealer markups these new fully loaded Rubicon picks are going to be near 65k. Plus adding all these extras I guess some people are willing to pay 1K a month for car payments
I paid $42k for my 2018 JL Rubicon. MSRP was $49k. You just need to know where and who to order it from. The internet is your friend and the Jeep forums are full of info on how and where to get a great deal. I suspect there will be a $5k premium for the JT over the Unlimited but dealer markups will be crazy for the first ones to hit the street.
