My daughter left ours out in a storm and got bent, purchased from kohls, it doesn’t have a pin, but screws to the top pole. Any ideas how to get a pipe and get threads in it? Thanks..
Unfortunately, there is no way I could evaluate the problem or suggest a specific repair method without seeing the damage in person. You might want to contact Kohls to see if you can buy a replacement.
Hi Steve, I got this piece of electrical conduit from Home Depot, but any hardware store that sells electrical contractor supplies will have it. It's important to know what size of pipe or conduit you need - maybe what works best for you will be plumbing pipe instead. Good luck! :-)
Apparently I goofed up the measurements, and the pipe you see here is actually a bit too narrow on the inside diameter. Watch "Part 2" to see how I modified the pipe to make it functional. ua-cam.com/video/OzIs4B3nXdA/v-deo.html
You will need to measure the pin on your umbrella (the hole sizes can be different), and make sure that the hole you drill is a bit larger. Don't worry about making your hole into an oval if that is the shape of your button, one simple round hole that is a bit bigger than the button will work.
Hi Lisette, If you are in San Diego, we can discuss it. If you watch the "Part 2" video, you will see that it is vital to have access to the WHOLE umbrella to be able to take accurate measurements, and to ensure the replacement pipe actually FITS correctly. This one needed to be modified before it worked right.

Just be sure to carefully measure the inside if the conduit and outside of the umbrella that slides into the pipe! Good luck! :-)
You are very nice brother!
I appreciate that!
