  • Watch me window tint the front windows on this 2020 GMC Sierra.
    I have found it’s best for me to pull the door panels when tinting windows overall. This allows me to ensure the tint is dry and secured below the gasket, decreasing the chance of it catching or peeling from the bottom. I also feel as though I tend to struggle with feeding the tint into the gasket without excess moisture or contaminants causing some grief.
    I have been window tinting for about six years as a side gig. Starting in Winona, MN and now working on building the same word of mouth attention in the Dickinson, North Dakota area.
    You’ll find some videos on my channel of me setting my home garage up to provide a heated, well lit work space for me to comfortably provide window tint, taillight tint, vinyl decal, and vinyl wrap projects here in Dickinson, ND.
    In the next video, this GMC Sierra will also receive taillight tint using Luxe Auto Concepts mid smoke gloss tint.

    I've never tried window tint. You make it look easy, but I know it's an art. Nice work again.

      Thanks again! I’m definitely much more confident with tint than vinyl. That’s were I started about 6 years ago which has lead me to become interested in more projects like decals, taillight tint, and vinyl wrap.

    Hey man you did good. Bottom loading is for certain people while 2 stage is for others. I'm just like you and do it on the side. My side hustle, it takes my stress away. I 2 stage and I've tried pulling panels or popping panels to get the sweep out and I just choose to 2 stage. For me I shrink my roll ups and create fingers. I also tape my side gaskets, which stops dirt from getting into my film.keep up the great work.

      That’s so true, there are different ways to install and personal preferences, all of which hold pros and cons.
      Thanks for the feedback. I can definitely relate to the stress relief. Pulling in a vehicle and spending time alone in the garage is therapeutic somehow.

    So was that 20% I’m getting my 2020 canyon Denali done on Friday looking to match up the back doors great job

      Thanks. To match the factory rear privacy glass, generally the 20 is a good option.

      @@TunersCanvas I watched that again you said 35% that looks close that’s what I’m going to ask for is that a common % ✌️

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  3 місяці тому +1

      @@tooldiebum For sure. The 35 is a fair option that doesn’t look too far off from the back and provides great visibility.

    the quality must be good if the installation is like that there is no failure rate in installing and of course it is clean, there is no dust and there is no risk of the material being caught in the glass rubber 👍👍

      Thank you! It’s definitely how I prefer to install. I’ve made some attempts to not pull the panel and I found trouble, likely by not doing it correctly I suppose. After pulling hundreds of panels at this point it doesn’t really take much time on most vehicles.

    I think by going the extra mile removing the panels is very custom install and I would pay extra knowing that bottom edge of the tint isn't going to catch the gasket every time you roll the window down.

      That’s good feedback. Thanks. I definitely feel more comfortable about the quality of the install doing it this way.

    I love %20 but in my now older age I'm not looking for a excuse to get pulled over. I didnt even tint my last truck but this 2021 Silverado gets spicy inside. I've decided on %35 for the fronts and %55 over the backs, all ceramic.

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  3 роки тому

      Honestly that’s a great choice. The 35% is enough to add some styling without significantly hindering the visibility in or out, and the technology with ceramic films for heat rejection is pretty crazy.

    great info for installing tint... I've wasted 2 rolls of tint by improper install on 2 different vehicles. Never tinted the first one... Now I think I might try again on the second one.... what have I got to lose? $15...? :)

      No doubt! It can always peel off if it don’t work out. It can be a tedious art to get the film into place but once you’ve made it, the appearance is rewarding instantly.
      It takes practice to get consistent as with anything.

    didn't you have to shrink first?

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  Рік тому +1

      Shrinking is significant when leaving the door panel in place and two stage installing. Since I removed the gasket, I have the room to post heat and lock down the bottom edge.
