    I like how these units keep getting better and better. If they could come up with a lower wattage glow plug version it would be compatible on pretty much any power station.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  10 місяців тому +3

      It would be helpful if they could lower the start up draw just a little while the glow plug is on. Would love a small propane forced heater. Some thing small that uses less power than RV furnace but use on board tanks

      @@johnnysweekends Hey there the 8kw unit I'm installing has cheezy on/off button and was a cerimoney trying to link remote that ONLY ajusts temp up/down, and powering on is problematic when temp set too low as temp won't ajust UNTILL powered up..... I can work around these issues BUT with the temp is set lower then ambient, the fan speed/heating lowers way down as it should works great however it stays running on low regardless of where the temp is set, and eventually get's TOO HOT!!!
      Will any of these controllers cycle the burner off when it gets too hot???,and back on again??? if I get an aftermarket one?thanks

    1:30 - the pickup position being slightly off the bottom is better, particularly for cold weather, as it keep the tube from picking up water. This is especially beneficial, as these units lack a water separator.

    They probably keep the fuel inlet a little high to create a sump for contaminants.

    • @johnnysweekends

      True, I think it’s a pinch high my self and with a fuel filter it will filter the contaminants. Although it does act as a natural fuel water separator so…🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  9 місяців тому +3

      Yesss!! Get a Tupperware tub about the same size or slightly bigger but not a deep one. Shallow style ..
      Flip it up side down and cut the ends to fit the heater hose coming out and some holes on the other end for air going in.
      Also elevate it off the ground maybe a small little table or or 2x4s in case of heavy rains.
      The tub works great

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  10 місяців тому +2

      They both have a couple advantages. This one is quicker to get to the engine and do stuff if needed. Verses the metal outside cover has screws that all need to come off.
      Plus a tall skinny profile you will need some add on foot pegs or it will blow over. Plus needs to be lifted anyway.
      The app is way better and talks better on the Hcalory so that’s actually nice. The other had connection issues but the remote did work.
      Over all the Hcalory is pretty nice just on the higher price side. I’ll be using it several days in about two weeks for a trip

    you should mention the psa regarding the plug choice. Super dangerous!!
    did your exhaust pipe fit on the elbow? mine did not and hcalory has not been very responsive at all.
    no fuel filter is fitted for longevity you should plumb one in, your choice if you want to replace the green squishy line or not seems 50/50

      Yup,that iec plug is a fire waiting to happen. I just bought this unit got it delivered two days ago I plugged it in and it looked like 4th of July in my garage, Sparks were flying everywhere. This model and the roll around toolbox model both need to be recalled

    Nice little set up how often would you change the fuel filter?

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  9 місяців тому +1

      Would depend on how often and how much you use it. Once a year with regular use. Maybe every other with light use.

    Your fuel is not perfectly clean. You don't want fuel to come off the bottom of the tank as that is where sediment and water will sit.

      Very true it’s not clean but just seems the pick up was higher than normal

    the pump is same crap quality like other chinese ones. Makes same annoying ticking sound. If you pay this much extra you would hope they would give a near silent pump.
