Your video was the first video I had ever watched about how to make a magic ring. Since then (years ago) I have watched many others and have tried many other ways and every single time I need a refresher I go straight to your video. It's the BEST AND EASIEST way to do this. Thank you so much you are my hero

Tried this for an hour and I finally got it! Sure I did get mad and yelled in a pillow, but I kept getting better until I finally did it. Once I was done, it looked so pretty since I knew I put a lot of effort into it. Thanks for the tutorial, and I will try and make the bear that you made! 😁❤️

I'm 7 months pregnant and decided to teach myself amigurumis to make one for baby as her first teddy. Following this video, I got it right at first try! Although it didn't look good, took me 3 tries to get it nicely. Thanks!

I love that a) you are very calm so you take your time; b) you don't speed up as you keep stitching, but do it at our pace; and c) you are very clear on your explanations. Excellent teaching, thank you!

I did it. I have been doing the Magic Circle for awhile now using a different method. I was all thumbs doing it but I have had your tutorial on for about 2 hrs now. I was determined to get it without dropping the circle or yarn when I should have been pinching. I watched your hands very carefully and also the hook. It has been worth it because I am doing it easily now. I like this method very much. I'm doing your Amigurumi Animals and don't want any circles on the feet or paws. Thank you so much Dorothy

I cannot thank you enough for teaching the magic circle!! Thanks to you, I am now an intermediate crocheter and have fallen in love with the art. As a hobby mostly, but the future is still bright, (wink!) Your creations are such a delight. You are a true crochet master! Your video was the only one that made sense to me and I refuse to learn the magic ring any other way. Your way is the easiest and it just works! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

I tried for hours last night to find a magic circle tutorial that not only:
    - made sense to me
    - (but also) worked for me.
This made me a magic circle which was both adjustable, and LOOKED like a circle, it was EXACTLY what i needed to make a coaster. I hope I can START my coaster now!! Thanks so much!

I tried other videos and this is the first video that made sense. I learned to crochet as a youngster at my Mother's knee and had forgotten some of the 'tricks' she taught me. When I viewed your video I remembered it as my Mother's technique as well! You took me back more than 30 years to a beloved memory with my sweet Mother who has since passed away. Thank you so much for actually addressing that you end up with TWO stands of yarn to pull and showing how to pull each one individually to close up the circle. I kept ending up with the loose loop following others' instructions which did not show what to do with the 2nd loop/strand of yarn and tbh I was really getting frustrated! So glad I found your video before giving up :)

Great magic circle tutorial Sharon! I have loved to crochet for 45+yrs and have heard mention of the magic circle in several patterns & simply had no idea what that was. After watching "how-to's" on youtube for the proper way to make one, I would still end up starting my project as I always have in the past (slip knot, I guess is what it is called, not really sure of the terminology). That is, until I found YOUR tutorial on the magic circle! FANTASTIC TUTORIAL, so THANKS SO MUCH! LOVE YOUR WORK!

I can't tell you how awesome that makes me feel and just adds fuel to the gas tank! Hi Sharon, I have watched many tutorials on making a magic circle with no real success. I end up all fingers and thumbs, as i am fairly new to crocheting, but with your instructions it makes much more sense. Thank you for you slow, basic instructions, it has helped the penny drop. I am looking forward to trying many of your projects, they look fabulous. Thank you once again! 💖

thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful. To start the next row you go through the first stitch. If you look at the edge of your magic circle after you close it up, you'll see a v shape, you go right through the middle of that stitch and the v (or 2 loops) will be on top of your crochet hook. It's hard to explain in written form so I will hopefully get a moment to do a quick video on this. I'll post back and let you know when I have it up :)

After many tries to do a magic circle for a granny square I finally did it! I had tried many methods and found that I had to change out my hook to one that was easier for me to use. Now to figure out step two! Thank You!!
