1987 was that Year for me. My mom was dying of cancer at home, my husband had just left me, my oldest daughter was in drug rehab, then a new boyfriend was smashing windows in my apartment and car and I got pregnant. I had no one to look to besides the Lord. He took mercy on me and got me out of that town and situation. My youngest daughter was born healthy. We came here with nothing but her playpen, few clothes and dishes and a box radio and portable tv. From there things took off and we were finally able to live a normal life. Some times you just have to start all over and not look back. 😅
What you wrote was needed by me and powerful. I'm having to move and I'm down but Mom sold her home and I like with her. Lord life can seen lonely. Thanks again Peter

Lindy, I’m 76, still working full time; I’m scared of retirement. We are survivors with lots of experiences we can share with those who care to listen….But these days, most will turn to Mr. Google for guidance, lol! Thank you for sharing.
@@carolynw45 - Well, everyone’s entitled to their opinion. If you knew my life you’d maybe understand why I say it. Bottom line is, we always have a choice in any situation. Sometimes, the only choice is to grit our teeth while we try and work through something.
I can so relate to your story. I have lost my 26 year old son in a motorcycle accident in 2021, My spouse of over 20 years in January 2023, my Father the next month in February 2023 and my Mother in November 2023. It has been a really really tough time for me. I have struggled with a level of depression I wouldn’t wish on the worst of the worst. Some days I am truly amazed that I’m still here. I am totally alone and I don’t know how I’m going to pay my bills or take care of my babies (my mini pinscher and I inherited my Moms bishon Schitzu mix) who truly give me some purpose in this cold world. I have also experienced others issues I won’t go into but I’m saying all this to tell you that you are not alone and you matter! Please keep putting out videos, I live vicariously through adventurous people like you. God Bless you😊T.
Had similar experience with "friend" after my horse died then my Dad died within 2 weeks. Put in hours doing her nonprofit's books, taxes, etc., per verbal agreement I was not supposed to pay rent or utilities. Once job was finished they gave me a bill for rent and utilities, then filed eviction notice in an atempt to take my disabled rv. I also feared for my life. Got out with my rv the night before the eviction. I learned not to ever give my labor away without at least a contract even to a charity. Happy trails.
How awful. I was just considering the charity part. Thank you so much for posting that experience although I am sorry you went through that. Blessings.
When my husband died, I heard don’t make any decisions for a year. A couple instances, I didn’t listen and I wish I would have. Five years down the road it’s better. Some friends you had. Take care.
Wow I went from Kentucky to Arizona when gas was $3.50 Gallon and that was only 400. I had a V6 van I must of pisst off every trucker from Kentucky to Arizona because I put the cruise control on 55 to get that good gas mileage
Never ever make a move for a year when all this happens! I told a friend that when her Mom died and she was gung- ho to sell her Mom's house and a year later she came and thanked me for telling her that and she was so happy ! God bless you .
I had a friend that lost three of her family members 2 yrs. Grief is such a difficult experience to go through. You are at your most vulnerable and that's when you are easy prey for other people to go after you emotionally and financially. Your guardian angel has been looking out for you Lindy
You mentioned a son in one of your videos on being scammed. Why can't he help? My sister didn't do much to help herself when it came to retirement and I'm helping her keep her head above water because I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I didn't.
Love you. Love your stories. And like you mentioned we listen, can relate in many ways, and like you, we can cry and be depressed or say to ourselves "lesson learned" and looking back, laugh. Yes. You are being watched over because this sharing is your purpose in life now! Blessings!
Love your stories. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and advice. I’m sure that you and many others in the van life community are helping those in financially desperate shape. I believe that vehicle dwelling is one of the more affordable lifestyles that exist. It is not an easy lifestyle, but can be a necessary lifestyle due to high cost of living. At this point, we cannot rely on government to help. We must help ourselves, and you are giving tools and inspiration for that!
Wow! What a life you’ve had! I hope your life continues to get better and better. Yes; God was definitely looking out for you. He’s how I can keep living one day at a time. My life is better now than it had been in the last 3 years. I’m 62 and I definitely have some stories too. Take care and stay safe out there. Luv ya. I do pray for you.
You were grieving that explains it all. I know because you are telling my story as well. At 55 My Mother died whom I had taken care of full time for 8 years and I was so exhausted mentally I made horrible decisions and lost over 75k. I now live a basement apartment with nothing but my stuff left from my former life.
Wow! I’ve always have said we don’t know how strong we are until we have our backs to the wall. I’ve had some life threatening experiences too and at 76 we go through a lot. I remember the Golden girls and first watching it. I was freshly divorced bad health and two young kids to take care of. I had help from my parents and got on Social Services but serious back problems, Hysterectomy, lost my house and watch them tow my car away. My parents weren’t rich by no means but they helped all they could. The biggest lesson I learned is you can get back on your feet, be thankful, maybe not rich but enjoying the simple life I have. Plus if I had listened to wise people I wouldn’t of had to go through this,at least to that extent! Thanks for your videos Lindy, if only younger people would listen! I was younger and didn’t, but we can still try to give advice and pray! Thanks for explaining why you give tribute to your friends but touching your ear at the end of your videos! Keep being you! 🙏❤️🕊 S
