- March 11th, 2023 Kalamazoo, Michigan at Wings Stadium. Here is footage of the event. Lots of nice gear. Ham radios, transmitters, receivers, new and used. Quite a bit of nice test equipment. Lots of tubes. Saw many familiar faces. There was good amount of buyers, however most sellers reported not many sales. Hopefully this is because of the unsteady economy, not loss of interest in the hobby. I really enjoyed the layout. Tables were spread apart enough so people could easily navigate. There was no loud music, so it was easy to talk to fellow Hams. We are always looking for new recruits. This hobby has many different modes to explore. It is not just a bunch of gray hairs pounding a brass key. Take some time, read up on ham radio. It has evolved with the times. 73's de n6tlu
You do the BEST hamfest walk throughs!
Thanks from kc2wvb. Have not been to a fest in 10 years. It was fun watching.
I love how you show all in the meet. It looked like a good show. Lots of vintage equipment. Thanks for going out and giving the rest of us something good to watch. Thanks
Thanx N6TLU. Always enjoy these. Feel better. 73
Thanks for a great video appreciate it so much
I miss going to the ham fest. thanks for doing one.
Nice, thanks for sharing. I haven't been to this hamfest since it was in the Marshall community building that was on west side by I-69 interchange. I took my extra exam there. The building is now private property.
Terry doing what he does best at these shows, schmoozing. Never stop doing it Terry. Hope you get better .🤧
Great community
Fantastic! At 42:54 a Galaxy V! I have one these with PS! TNX for sharing! 73' from BRASIL
I wish the Hamfests around here were that well stocked.
yep arthritis ain't no joke
Great to see your trying to get sellers to display contact info I am thinking about contacting W8UAB for the asking price on his Orion
Great video sir
Special tour!
I love one of the Engel mics
I have to wait until August for my local HamFest, all 4 hours of it.
👍👍
I thought I saw you there! I actually ended up buying those S-40s you featured and that really nice one does need an alignment, but is still a superb receiver as is.
I ended up getting a lot of good deals there, your hypothesis about the economy would make sense, it seemed like a lot of vendors had lower prices just to try and make some sales
Great on those S-40a's I had one when I was 12. Have a few around here, just no time to refurb them
Hope you feel better soon brother
If it's true to form all the really good deals were gone before the doors open.
Milk $7.50 a gall9n gas $4.86 a gallon here 8n Alaska
You know you've made it when you enter in the rear of the Mamfest swap meet. Congratulations! Will you still talk to us.
Great Sir RAFIQUE MASTOI DG Khan Pakistan 🏝🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰❤
I learn about these swap meets after the fact.
When is the next one ?
Hope you feel better Terry. Did you get a Gordie Howe hat trick at the stadium? (Goal, assist, and fighting penalty), lol. I bought a Tenma 72-1095 isolation transformer shortly after seeing my first D-Lab video.
Are we going to see you at the Toledo Hamfest next Sunday the 19th?
1:12:35 Terry buy me the two Heathkit.🥺
The price tags that I could actually see were similar prices to eBay prices. The sellers probably took most of their offerings back home!
if that guy was selling that bird. I bet it cost a pretty penny. they are hard to come buy.
Some of the happiest, most outgoing, jovial and seemingly "doing pretty good" people you may know can be tortured inside. To the point of an indescribeable personal madness they have no choice but to contain.
There was a dx400 Texas Star amp if yiu know whom had it
smarshamfest@gmail.com This is the e-mail for the Ham club. I do not have info on sellers
Do you ever find new old stock EL34 and ECC83 Mullards at swap meets?
Not in years...
@3:50 you’re always DX’ing with a BIG Johnson
Do you remember price on the SP600? I hardly ever see at hamfests.
I think he wanted $700
Nice Ham festival.
? Used a 12". 8 ohm speaker to test a 350 SWR bass amp. And it cooked it😢. How can I test amp without burning up speakers. I don't have a scope. Should I check for voltage at output jack ?
No blown fuses. Is it's the caps? I cleaned the jacks and circus board pretty good. S.O.S.
Check for DC voltage before you connect a speaker or a test load. If you have DC voltage at the output more than tens of mv then you have a problem with the output transistors. You can use an 8 ohm resistor rated for the amps output power as a test load if you don't want to risk the speaker.
We’re is the miss left her home
At minute 37:04 repeaters and contact info?
Did you get any contact info on the Motorola repeater and the APX that where on a center table?
The 900mhz amp and GTx radios at minute 26:11?
And the Motorolas are 1:07:54 time stamp need his contact if yiu have it
That so called,10 meter/CB Base is a Piece of Junk and Illegal on any band in the USA. It’s easy to identify a Legal 10 meter radio because they will not have Noise Toys built into them. I don’t know of any model of Ranger that is Type Accepted other than the 5054 DX & 5054 DX 100 for 6 meters. They do include a Roger Beep in them but not any Echo or Reverb garbage.
Arthritis?
I know those Itis boys and Arthur is about the worst of them.
Take care of it now, Terry. If you let it go, you'll regret it.
Sad in a way -a dying hobby - no young crowd - just od people - like me
Me too, Feeling the old guy pains
